Never been to Bangor so googled best chippie (as you do!) and it came up with Cheryls. Have to say she fully deserves the title! Friendly service, everything cooked fresh, good value and tasted great. No hesitation in highly recommending

Good chips, very few veggie options e.g. spring rolls and pineapple fritters. Chips and fish very good! In a bit of a rough area of town and shop a little tired.

I use this chippie regularly. Nothing is too much trouble. Wide variety of dishes. Lovely fresh salad also available. Highly recommended.

While the Norbar looks great and is in a great location, I think it has strayed far from the casual family-friendly pub it used to be as the Wayside, which is a huge shame. The best part about it was actually the fish & chip business on the side, which has now been replaced with another bar for some reason. You have to book a table as it is now a sea food restaurant instead of just a pub, and also therefore far more expensive. The mini arcade and pool tables that the Wayside used to have were gone on our last visit, so any element of fun that might've appealed to families is gone. The Norbar doesn't respect it's closing times, closing because there "there no customers" right as we happen to walk through the door. They've also "officially closed" the bar before serving more customers, but not us. Overall, the Norbar is disappointing in comparison to the cosy, family-friendly sea-side pub it used to be as the Wayside.

Just ordered what I thought was a simple order, apparently not. The person who served me charged me double, apparently sausage sounds a lot like fish. Instead of two chips, I got three, Instead of two sausages I got one. Chips were soggy, I'm not sure if they cook their chips in oil or if they pour it over them like a salad.

The chips here were amazing!! So nice and crispy and quickly devoured on a chilly Saturday afternoon watching the sea. Bit of a queue but honestly shows you how popular it is and it was worth the few minutes we had to wait. highly recommend and will be returning

Best fish and chip shop in town! They make all of their food to order and it definitely shows! The chips were perfectly golden and crispy on the outside. Fish was beautifully flaky and not greasy. Highly recommend you check them out over the other places in town—you will not be disappointed!
