The best restaurants serving Seafood food in South West Scotland

If you’re looking for pizza or pasta to take away this is the place to go. Truly authentic Italian food, better than most Italian restaurants. We had another family pizza/pasta night and everything was amazing. Cooked to perfection, not a single fault. The staff are also lovely, so friendly and nice to talk to. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for pizza or pasta as it’s always been a disappointment compared to Ginos.

Was in last night first time watched all the fish that was going out don't know if they were regulars but they were big when I got mine was a mino very small not worth the money

Our server Emmanuel was so attentive and couldn't have been kinder, he was constantly on the go as the restaurant was fairly full but made sure to check in on us and let us know there might be a wee wait because a delivery had just come in. The food was really nice, with good portion sizes. Everything tasted like it was cooked fresh, very tasty.

On business trip,not holiday and staying nearby. Our hostess told us of this place and gave it a try. Pretty extensive menu of burgers,fish,chicken and chips. They also do a selection of pizzas too. They also do a haggis supper. I had that and my wife the fish and chips. Both were really big portions. Batter was really light and crispy. Really tasty. If we are ever in the area again we’d make a point of driving back to Maybole to come back to this shop.

We visited for High Tea. This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and a good view depending on where you are seated. We were apparently the only folks that reserved tea that day and the restaurant was empty. There was no one to greet us at the host stand. We were finally noticed by a very busy server that was also serving the large bar area in the room next door. Our reservation (which I not only confirmed but added an extra person to) had to be located. The tea, sandwiches and sweets were good. Nothing really stood out. The server was not able to attend to us as well as she had to keep running back to the bar. I had higher expectations for this old and established location and it did not deliver.

Ordered from here a few times. delish food. warm when delivered and will absolutely be going back

Travelled over an hour to have a chippy from here. It was stunning. Perfect service and will be back.

We popped in here for dinner, having passed by so many times we thought we would give it ago and wete so glad we did. The portions were huge, the chips cooked to perfection and the pizza crunch was delicious. It was all freshly made in front of us so took a little longer than normal, the only issue we had was the woman serving didn't understand us and kept repeating our order and getting it wrong, she seemed confused to what a supper was but apart from that we would definitely return!

Paid 8.50 for a mini sausage supper 1 sausage with a small box of chips, phone number isn’t even recognised

Staff were unfriendly apart from a very nice young waiter and the manager. All the staff were very friendly to their local patrons I noticed, smiling and chatting with them. I ordered the steak. I asked for it medium. First one was very overcooked and dry and so I sent it back. No issue there. The second steak was well done, but better. My friend was nearly finished their meal, so I didn't want to wait any longer and I ate it. When the waiter came over to check on us, I pointed this out to them. I was also visited by the manager who was pleasant, but disagreed that a medium steak should be pink, rather than grey. When I questioned the bill, that I was being charged nearly 30 pounds for the steak, the only response from the man behind the bar was, 'Did you eat it?' Which he repeated. He was then joined by the chef who came out to have a go at me, telling me I was 'being aggressive' and that the steak was only a little overcooked. I asked for the manager who came over and discounted the steak while his staff continued to argue with me about the whole thing. It was all very unpleasant and I was shocked by the attitude of the staff and the lack of authority that the manager seemed to have over them. As we were leaving, the barman told me that I wasn't welcome and not to come back. This was in the outdoor seating area, and in front of other customers. I have worked in catering a lot in my life, and I am not one to kick up a fuss, but I will argue my case, especially when dealing with unfriendly staff who argue and clearly do not care about their customers. Crazy that a chef would come out and argue that I am being unreasonable while acknowledging that he overcooked the food. Aggressive, intimidating, really very bad.

Very disappointed. We were returning from a trip to Edinburgh through Bigger. The fish & chip shop looked inviting. I have allergies which I can manage really well as long as I can check what ingredients are used in the batter and check if the chips are coated….I asked the member of staff if I could see the ingredient list to check for allergies, unfortunately she looked confused and blank. I was therefore unable to safely order anything. I was surprised and disappointed that in 2025 they were clearly not up to speed with food allergies.

waited over an hour to get main course i had the roast beef dinner which was so tough i could not eat it wrapped it up and took it home for my dog the staff were very nice and apologised they took of the bill a drink and a cup of coffee and a coke to make up for this this was the worst service of food and quality we go to the cut no complaints sort out your big problem

The chicken was lovely but the fish was like leather couldn't eat the batter very disappointed as it was lovely
