Cutfish in South Lanarkshire

waited over an hour to get main course i had the roast beef dinner which was so tough i could not eat it wrapped it up and took it home for my dog the staff were very nice and apologised they took of the bill a drink and a cup of coffee and a coke to make up for this this was the worst service of food and quality we go to the cut no complaints sort out your big problem

What a fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon, our food was amazing, drinks were great and service was fantastic 😀 Oysters were fresh and tasted great, the scallops were cooked to perfection, the soufflé was to ‘die for’ and the Cut Fish posh fish supper was excellent. Fantastic, experienced staff delivering an amazing service that customers really want 👍 well done and thank you very much. The cocktails were amazing!

food was OUTSTANDING! Best meal ive hd in years! Every dish was UNREAL (and we had 11!) will be back as soon and as often as possible!

Twice now I have eaten at Cutfish and both times have had a phenomal time. I ate with my mother and grandmother for an afternoon lunch having mixed plates from the small plates menu and it was delightful. We especially loved our Crispy Cauliflower! High praise to our server Amy, she is a truly an asset to your business as she brings warmth and joy to her job.

Absolutely Fantastic meal for two on Sat 16th April 22. Looked after so professionally and kindly by Rebecca (who couldn't do enough for us to make our night special) and the staff. So friendly and great atmosphere. Wee mention for Ida our waitress (so good). Totally recommend this restaurant.

Went here with family & friends some of whom we haven’t seen in over 2 years. We were all looking forward to it On arrival everything was great, our server was amazing quickly took drinks order, few minutes later came to take food order, we were all in good spirits everything was going well so far! Starters arrived and were good nothing snacking but definitely good that unfortunately is where it stops being good! Mains arrived all of our food was cold inedible and just horrible even the sides! Server was nearly in tears she was apologetic and said she’d the good re cooked but by then we were over it! In fairness to the restaurant we were not charged for our mains or starters but that really is not the point On the same evening some of our friends were also there separately they had the same experience and left without eating anything Style over substance I think so, will definitely not be back

We were in here recently and the service was DISGRACEFUL! Got to the door and the hostess, who I can only describe as having the welcoming manner of Severus Snape, made us kindly wait until she’d finished sending her text message before asking us how she could help. This only followed on to the rest of the night where meals took forever to cook, drinks took forever to come and food temperature was room temperature but we had waited to long we couldn’t be bothered sending it back. When the drinks did come they were fine but wasn’t too pleased about the terrible prices. If you look at the previous 5 star reviews you can tell they were clearly written by the managers and owners. Pathetic really.

Had heard mixed reviews about Cut Fish but wanted to give it a try after having such a good experience at their sister restaurant. From the minute we walked through the front door on Friday night, we were greeted by the lovely hostess, who was very attentive to us throughout our dining experience along with our waitress for the evening. We ordered the seafood curry and the the steak and langoustines, everything was cooked to perfection and the wine list allowed us to pair our wines perfectly with our meal. Overall, couldn’t fault our experience and enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Will most definitely book again sometime in the future.

We’ve visited Cut Fish Bar & Grill a couple of times in the last few weeks. Every visit has been fabulous. We’ve visited with friends, to catch up, and with family to celebrate a birthday. The venue and decor is fab. Very warm and cosy but classy and modern too. The staff could not have been any more helpful - from taking our reservation on the telephone, welcoming us to the restaurant and showing us to our table. Service was great, quick to take a drinks order and answer any questions on the menu. The food amazing, we had a real mixed selection of orders in our party and everyone loved their choices. The staff were so attentive in clearing the tables and keeping our drinks refreshed. The were really pleasant and we enjoyed speaking with them. Overall it’s a definite 10/10 from us and we’ll definitely be back.

Been coming here since it opened and find the food to be five star and the place is beautiful but service is sometimes slow but with the new manager it certainly has got really better, my favorite is definitely the steak and lobster.

I decided to book here for a family occasion having enjoyed visiting the sister restaurant 'Cut' on many occasions. From the moment we walked through the door it was clear to me that it was the wrong decision. Standing at the welcome desk for ten minutes with members of staff walking by us whilst a long table of drunk 20s made it impossible to hear yourself think. We were seated in the conservatory but that didn't mask the sound in anyway. It was clear to me that they should just turn the restaurant into a bar as from the moment we were seated I felt isolated. 20 minutes after sitting down we hadn't been asked for drinks. Clear to see that both the waiter/waitress on were too busy speaking to their mates at another level. Food wise: The steaks were nice and so was the roast dinner (beef). The starter of crispy squid tasted like something you would buy in a frozen bag in tesco, certainly not made fresh and tasted like nothing. My father wanted to order a pint and there was only two options (Pravha) and an IPA which again was dissapointing. We were in a rush to leave which was challenging to execute as everytime we wanted something we had to get the waiter/waitress away from speaking to their friends at the next table. I certainly won't be back. My recommendation for the restaurant would be to mirror the service/food in your sister restaurant 'Cut'. I certainly won't be back.

Booked a table for drinks with 6 friends at 5pm on a Saturday. Place was fairly busy but not completely full. Had to ask someone to take a drink order then waited nearly an hour for them to arrive. Decided not to stay and just move on to a local pub where we had a drink in hand within minutes even though it was really busy! When we asked for the bill at Cutfish it included a service charge, called the manager over and said we weren't willing to pay the service charge due to the hour long wait. Although she removed the service charge there was no apology for the wait. Definitely feels like style over substance with lots of staff floating around looking pretty but not doing too much work. Won't be back!

This is the 4th time myself and husband have ate here. I just really want to like it but every time we say 'uck lets try it again' it disappoints us. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The staff are nice enough but I do think there is either a shortage or they haven't been trained fully. The last time we went for dinner and drinks we were held at the door for 10 mins along with another couple. This was because there was no-one there to great us. I think the girl who did eventually great us was a senior member of staff and she comes across as being lovely but that station should not be left unattended. Our drinks took absolutely ages to come, we were told the bar was busy, but over 15mins for wine and a vodka seemed excessive. The fresh oysters we had for starters were absolutely beautiful! The steak we ordered for mains were cooked lovely. We had a mix up regarding the peppercorn sauce as it tasted like gravy, and it looked like gravy and my husband poured it on his steak before realizing so we asked for it to be changed. The server was nice enough and took it away. He came over 5 mins later with the same steak and said 'thats how our peppercorn sauce looks' I thought this to be unprofessional as that steak had been away for some time and then brought back. A fresh one should have been served and he should have asked if there was another type of sauce he preferred. We didn't stay for dessert or anymore drinks. We ended our night short and left, even though we would have liked to of carried on our night at the bar. What's going wrong here?

I don’t really write reviews cause I’m not a karen. This place is so disappointing you walk in and it’s as dull as dishwater it looks nice but that’s it zero atmosphere music is rubbish staff are depressed the girl who is the supervisor needs to put abit of life out there she walks about like mr sheathing. First visit to cutfish on a Saturday night. Lovely decor, food and staff. Drinks took a while to come at the start of the night but got better as night went on and we didn't wait long for food. Starters of prawns and crispy mushrooms were great, as was halibut and miso salmon mains. Tasty food, maybe slightly overpriced for the portions you get but still enjoyed it. Great mocktail options for the designated driver and bar staff able to create most cocktails on request even if not on menu.
