Decent fish n chips good service always quick and staff nice

Waited 20 mins for a large fish supper , wasn't very large .

Massive portions of really tasty fish and chips. Staff absolutely exhausted after a day when it was the only chippie in Girvan, but still soldiering on

Only had chips and although the shop was busy the chips weren't great. I didn't know if was possible to get chips so poor. The potatoes tasted rubbish. Also staff busy chatting and hardly had time for customers.

Sorry, but good god no. The place looks like it did 25 years ago. They were out of a few things and for £24 for really small portions was a joke and to be honest it looked like a good scrub would give it life.

Recently came to Girvan on a holiday, the service was excellent, extremely friendly staff who also brought a dog bowl with water and treat for our dog who was welcome to sit in the restaurant area. The food was delicious and as a family of 5 reasonably priced and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

stood for 15/20 mins for fresh chips and on opening the bags they did not look freshly cooked, most of suppers went in the bin

Absolutely boggin fish n chip supper. Had been told Grazinos was the place to go for fish n chips in Girvan, but stopped instead at the Marine Fish bar as it adjacent to the main road for the ferry. Won't make that mistake again!

Couldn't believe this place cooked everything from fresh whilst you wait. You wouldn't get that service back in England. Had a small fish super and was absolutely lovely.

Food is average, but not as good as the other chippy in Girvane, where we usually go. Went here because we were in flushes car park, but definitely think it is best to travel to the other one.

It alright just a wee shtity chippy you can sit in or takeaway Make sure you get a takeaway NO TOILET

The wee lassie that was in on the 26th November that served myself was very pleasant and served with a smile on her face 😀.. cant say that about the last time I was in 2 young girls couldn't even smile while serving the customers looked as if they didnt want to be there ... well done to the girl that served on the date off the 26th

The food was adequate, do not get the peas absolutely horrendous, no prices on the board, staff seemed a bit miserable, could be a whole lot better, especially if they let you know how much anything is, not the best place to eat.

Chips were awful today, hard and tasteless, fish was bland and the batter rubbery, curry was runny and tasted awful, would not recommend and still no price list, so its pot luck on what they're charging you, they have carted blanche to charge whatever they want, gave them a second chance will not be making that mistake again.

This is my favourite chippie in the whole world! It's always a treat on the way to the ferry. 👍😀

Massive fish tea for a tenner , really nice two fish and loads of chips. Real cafe , with no nonsense. Girls serving were very attentive and friendly.

God awful place. Chips were barely edible. Staff confused and unhappy. No prices showing - board is blank. Overpriced - £7.70 for 1 small chips n a chips/cheese. Needs new owners and a complete revamp.

Sorry cannot recommend here, when ordering a Pizza I specifically ask if it was fried or not as we did not want a fried pizza, the girl said no, we made it clear a 2nd time & was assured no, guess what. THE PIZZA WAS FRIED! We didn't take it and got refund, I asked for a dressed fish since I know they are made to order, as when we walked in I could see battered fish sitting in the heater but who knows for how long, while I admit as I was hungry & I ate the fish it was the soggyest dressed fish I have ever had & the seagulls got the chips, I remember this place as a kid it was always a place to visit when in the area, sadly no more.

Haggis was acceptable chips were absolute rubbish, will avoid this takeaway in future, would rather go without!!!

Had take away fish and chips that were not the best, hence 2 stars. Would try elsewhere next time. Only went because they were open until 9 pm

Never had a bad fish supper from this location, I have been going to this shop for over 60 years when visiting Girvan, tried the others, but they can't beat the marine fish restaurant. Very good portions

Very poor quality of fish and chips were very black and tasteless. Staff rude and not very happy looking. Would not recommend this chippy.

Very tasty fish supper. Generous portions served by helpful, cheerful staff. A first class dining experience.

Was down that way and hungry so popped in for a humble bag of chips as they are normally very good but for some reason they were poor. So hit and miss, mostly great but not always. 4 years later, chicken well over cooked, chips lying long enough to dry out and for feck sake eleven yes eleven shakes of salt is way way way too much (think high blood pressure, strokes, heart attack and ultimately death). The young lady who serves has a lovely smile and offers it to all an sundry.

Been going to the Marine on and off for years and up until recently have not been disappointed. The last twice I have visited the portion size has reduced greatly whilst the price has increased. The quality of the fish want great and the chips felt like they were a mixture of reheats from lunchtime. Most of them went straight into the bin. Sadly I don't think I will be back now

Got fish & chips twice. Amazing fish as harbour was 100m away it was so fresh, proper chips with lots of salt & vinegar absolutely spot on.

I go there on way to caravan at balentrae every second week never had anything bad food is cooked fresh mostly use sit in part service has always been good food is always piping hot and it is good value for money

Passing through and picked up a fish supper around half 4 on a Saturday afternoon to take down to the harbour to eat. It really was awful, very greasy. An oily taste overpowered the taste of the fish and the chips. Won’t be back there.

Fish was lovely, kids enjoyed theirs, nice spacious and clean.

Quick visit on route to Cairnryan for the ferry. Very busy with customers and staff were under pressure. Nice chips

Lovely place. I used to go with my gran many moons ago. Staff is extremely helpful and the food is still as good as I remember.

We spent 39 pound food was horrible tasteless not cooked right was very disappointed wouldn't go back waste of money nearly all of it went into the bin

Expected a bit better from a sea side chippy, breaded fish was really soggy and didn't like the lemon wedged in between the fish gave it all a wierd taste with the vinegar and sauce. Locals seemed to like it as really busy would try it again for something else

Worst food I've eaten in a long time. Staff had horrific attitude. If 'battered' pizza means that someone actually beats it up before giving it you then they succeeded. Chips looked like they were sitting since New Year's Eve. Lassie didn't even say thanks or goodbye. No prices on the board? What has actually happened to this place. Feel sorry for the tourists that well end up visiting in the summer - that's if they are still open!

You seriously cannot beat this place for a fish supper... under a tenner for two good sized pieces of fresh fish chips tea and bread and real butter. You would be daft not to!

Got fish suppers, sausage supper, fritter. Fish and sausage rotten, not nice at all. Didn’t taste fresh, Chips the same. All tasteless. Wouldn’t recommend. Fritter was nice though !

Abrupt and unfriendly staff, more interested in chatting than customer service. Used to be a great chip shop that I always went into when passing but won’t be back. Asked if the sit in was still open and the ‘boss’ with glasses shouted to the girl (standing beside me) “wurr shut”, ignored me completely. Chips were fine.

I get fed up of pale, tasteless chips. Those here were soft and very tasty. The black pudding was larger than expected and very soft.

Used the Marine Fish Restaurant as a go to when working in Girvan....would highly Recommend it, Fish good, black pudding fab & King Rib amazing..... Staff polite & friendly with quick service for takeaway 👍

Well run, very busy. Food was fresh and really nice.

Portion of chips 2.50, chips were good enough but we'd be lucky if there were 30 chips on the tray. This used to be a place we wouldn't pass but will never be back

Got a sausage supper and cheese on it and a fish supper. Sausage wasn't the best so had to make do with the chips and cheese. Fish was already cooked and in the food storage bit so not worth the money as i don't know how long it was in there for. Staff are fast at serving and always very kind and helpful ✨️ 😊 thank you 💞

2nd visit to this place and I’m just as disappointed as the 1st. Not exactly cheap to eat out these days but when you do you expect a certain level of service which isn’t delivered by here, table service when it suits if they see you come in the door, had to go up and order food and pay the bill. Arguing between staff isn’t professional and absolute embarrassing to watch, waiting times are a joke, food order not correct when food finally arrived. In my opinion this restaurant needs to pull the socks up to learn and deliver what a customers basic needs are and really teach th the basics instead of leaving them to fail because no one has a clue what they should be doing. Will definitely not be returning here, I’ll stick to the harbour in future always consistency there and you know exactly what your getting every time.

Probably the best chippy in the western hemisphere, have not had a supper which was not excellent (except the haggis). The staff are really friendly, efficient and helpful.

We popped in here for some lunch to takeaway, everything was great as usually. It was cooked fresh right in front of us, everything was piping hot, with lovely and crispy chips and good sized portions. Definitely worth trying!

Does not open at either 12pm or 2pm been on several occasions over the last week, about time someone updated the opening hours! When they did finally open service was a shambles despite a telephone preorder being placed!
