Visited Gallimore's bar and restaurant today. Amazing food, nothing to fault at all. Excellent choices, food hot, friendly waitresses and waiters. Already booked our next visit. Great food Craig

We were visiting for a friends 60th and we were at the restaurant on a recommendation. The food was great! So well cooked and tasty! The staff were fantastic and very informative on the area. We will be back!.

In an idyllic spot at the end of a road to nowhere, the Tickled Trout combines excellent sea-food with soft beds, luxurious linen and a deep bath. Their Queenie Scallops in a scallop shell was a generous portion of beautifully cooked shellfish in an unctuous creamy cheesy sauce. The haddock in beer batter was cooked to perfection and the panna cotta wobbled invitingly in accompanying strawberry gels and sauces. Delicious wines and attentive, friendly staff made the evening a really memorable occasion. Breakfast was excellent and we would love to stay again!

Fantastic cocktails, quality food prepared with great care. Great theatre and superb service. I recommend the goats cheese starter and if you have the steak you MUST have the peppercorn sauce it’s the best I have ever had. This place is a must visit if you’re in Scarbados baby

The best fish and chips my husband and I have had in years. Super crispy batter, beautifully firm haddock and very friendly service. Topped off with a lovely gesture of a sausage for our (sausage) dog.

We love this restaurant and love the fact that you are back in Holmfirth but tonight was not up to your usual high standards. The table was wobbly, the restaurant was freezing and the service was slow. We had the 2 courses special - the soup and Camembert and the fish and chips were fabulous. The quality of the roast beef was poor and we couldn’t eat it. We couldn’t stay for dessert we were so cold. We then came to pay and discovered that the Camembert was £5 supplement for a started which it didn’t say in the menu - if we hadn’t checked that would have just gone through - the waitress did take off after some discussion with a few members of staff who didn’t seem interested. The pricing doesn’t seem right for this offer - surely the more courses you have the better value - The fish and chips is £19.99 - nearly £3 more than if you just ordered it on the main menu, and then a £5 supplement makes a starter £ 12. The waitress staff were lovely and polite but lacked the direction of anyone more senior. We will come back as it is one of our favourites in Holmfirth. Thank you

Great place to eat. The owner know all about his food and how to serve it. Proper old school clean and well run place.

Kingfisher Fish and Chips is a standout spot. The fish is fresh, perfectly battered, and cooked just right—crisp outside, tender inside. The chips are spot-on too. Service is quick and the staff are genuinely friendly, making it a smooth experience. It’s solid, no-fuss food that hits the mark every time. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after a quality meal. Five stars, hands down.
