The Village Chippy in Barnsley

This is a takeaway and the service is great as are the fish and chips,cooked to order so very fresh and tasty.will go back as we really enjoyed them.

Our Friday tea time meal.. Lovely white cod in crispy golden batter with nice mushy peas. Can't beat them. The staff are friendly too. Why not give them a try

My husband and i went to Brierley to visit some family, we wanted fish and chips so they told us about the village chippy, we tried it and it was absolutely gorgeous, the fish was nice and tender not too dry the batter was thing and not over powering, the chips were moist and the gravy was beautiful as was the curry sauce, a nice blend of herbs and spices yet very mild, the sausage was also tasty and the mushy peas were not too dry either.

This unassuming modest little shop which is almost lost in a parade recessed from the main road serves some of the best fish and chips I have had in this region. I nearly drove past it as the outside be lies the quality of the merchandise within. The fish was cooked fresh to order. OK there was the customary wait, but worth every mouthful. Unlike other establishments in the area, the batter was perfection. It was flavoursome and the fish was delicious. The chips were cooked to the same high standard. The bread cakes were fresh and my partner enjoyed her chip butty. Would heartily recommend it to any passing trade or someone who just wants quality with quantity.
