Had a portion of chips tonight, 11/6/2024 the portion was discussingley small for £2.65. we were loyal customers but unfortunately aqua has lost us as customers.

Tuesday 11th June 2024. I'm sorry to say this but I will definitely NOT be going to Aqua for a long time. The chips were nice but the £2.65 portion of chips was embarrassing small, I feel ripped off ! I'm not the type that would ordinarily count but there was approximately 30 chips once I got rid of the few bad ones. Photo enclosed, just opened, I couldn't believe my eyes. It will be a while if I go back.

This is normally a really good chippy, with three young people serving. Tonight, three different people, older people. The service was disgusting with the two ladies serving really unprofessional. An old lady ordered too much by mistake and when she questioned what they gave her she was told "you ordered it, you're having it". Another guy came in and mentioned he'd been trying to phone his order through for an hour to be told "we're too busy to answer the phone, can't you see?". There was no interaction and the atmosphere inside, everyone could see how bad they were. They say to employ people of a good age, please keep the young ones! They're lovely, quick and happy. These were maungy, sarcastic and miserable.

Cracking little chippy. Lovely fish (you can have a massive one if you want). Chips are great too. Friendly servers and nice to see them using paper carrier bags instead of plastic. If you're in the Mapplewell area, give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Brilliant traditional British food at a reasonable price compared to most. Lovely batter, juicy fish. Perfect gravy and great service.

Never empty, portion sizes are great, never been let down. Scampi, battered sausage and curry sauce I recommend.

Havnt visited for a while due to moving out of the area , called in today on the way to visit a friend and I have to say the fish and chips were some of the best I have had in a while . Beautiful !!

Great service as always and tasty hot food

Called in passing through the area and couldn't fault it. Parking fine, menu easy read and placed, prices reasonable, staff friendly and professional, surfaces and floors clean, service cooking time quick, staff asked me about extras and carryout bag( no need to stress). Packing good, Product very good and quality. Would recommend every time, this my first visit won't be my last. Well done gents.

Poor. Look great, but fish and chips tasteless including watery mushy peas. Fish flakes are loose and watery and found a thick bone. Can't remember the last time I had a bone in fish & chips ! Even the batter, looks good but tasteless.

Aww so disappointed with our fish and chips from here. We have been loyal customers for many years but this takes the biscuit! £7 for these. I know prices are rising but one should never let quality and quantity wain.

Three times now in the last month, get home to find the full order not in the bag. Third time I phoned them to be told that if I go in next they will give me things for free. Not the point. Once is a mistake, three times is blatant carelessness. Next time I go in I will make them show me what goes in the bag to ensure I get everything I've paid for. But I shouldn't have to do that, should I?

Expensive for what you get fish chips very dry sausage tasteless

Top quality fish and chop shop, food is always top drawer, different potatoes produce different chips so it's quite difficult to produce 100 % all the time, but saying that I have never had a bad experience at aqua. Staff are always pleasant , the premises always looks fresh and clean. Nothing too much trouble and good portion size.

Up to usual Aqua Bar standard. Since moving to Monk Bretton out of village still visit once a week..

I do a lot of rankings on fish and chip shops. The chips where 5 star. The fish was only 3 star the cod just didn't quit hit the spot for a five star review. The batter on the fish was 4 star. Very clean and tidy. Plenty of choice and reasonable on price. Would recommend stopping off.

Used to be the best chippy in the area. Something has changed. Chips are not as nice and a LOT browner than they used to be and the sausages are not nice (apparently the supplier has changed them). We will be going elsewhere in future. Real shame. 2 stars given purely for how good it used to be. Hopefully the new owners will roll back the changes...

This place serves the best fish & chips in the area for sure. Generous portions, crispy batter on the fish & quality potatoes for the chips. Friendly staff too.

I tried this little place for the first time on a Saturday teatime. Friendly service & reasonable prices. Portion sizes are generous & the quality is excellent. Very impressed!

When Richard was running this chip shop it was the best around, however since his departure standards have dropped tremendously. I recommended this place to everyone I knew praising it's produce but now I will be advising them to give the Aqua Bar a wide berth.

Freshly made with decent sized portions. Friendly, quick and reasonable prices. A steady flow of customers shows it's well thought of. Pay by card if you like. Recommended
