The best restaurants serving Seafood food in East of England

A bit disappointed with some of the food today (crab bisque was just salty and watery) which was such a shame as we have always really enjoyed the food here (mussels were great). We will be back as it hasn't put us off though.

W J Rowe, or more commonly Rowe's, is a superb Fish and Chip shop with a good selection of Fish, Pies, Sausages, etc. Mushy Peas can be obtained plain or with mint sauce (recommended). Staff are friendly and helpful. Can get busy at times (Friday evening for example) so pick your moment to check it out.

The most gorgeous fish & chips ever!! All fresh and cooked to perfection! Long queue, but we know why now….its that popular! You don’t mind waiting for beautiful food like that! We will be back x

We booked No1 for a private function, the size of the space was perfect and the food was excellent! The staff are so friendly it felt like they were apart of the celebration and chris the manager was so understanding of our arrangements and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you No1

Visited this evening just after opening time so the food was all cooked when we ordered. Didn’t have to wait long at all. Staff kindly wrapped the fish separately so they stayed crispy. We all said how great the food was, the fish batter was light and crispy and really well cooked. Chips were amazing also as were the sides. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I come here very frequently, staff are always polite and recognise you and know your order. Food is always perfectly cooked and you have the option of having salt and vinegar. Lovely stuff!

Wow, What a fish & chip shop as simply awesome, Very friendly owner as very nice staff, Great prices & as for the fish & chips , 10 out of 10, I am some would say a fussy eater, Everything is spot on here & the curry sauce is just fab too, The is by far the best fish & chip shop i have been too thus far......

Very disappointing. Smallest most tasteless pieces of fish we have ever had at a fish and chip shop. Quality has deteriorated since Mr Lim left. Standards have also got worse since the competition fish shop was converted back to a residential home Thank you Loddon Parish Council !!!!

It’s hard to see why any legitimate shop would be cash only these days. I expect it puts off a few customers like it put me off.

Do not order! We ordered and PAID online and when we went to collect they were closed. We have contacted them numerous times via email and phone but nobody has got back to us. Shouldn’t be accepting payment if they’re not open.

Sadly we were disappointed with our food - the Cod was over cooked and dry whilst the Haddock was coated in raw batter. This chip shop used to be so good but seems to have gone downhill in recent months.

I am a regular customer at fish n chicken, and I rate them 1st class very tasty food. But I do think the cardboard boxes they use are a complete waste of money and such a waste in general..the food is literally in the boxes for minutes then thrown away...in todays climate I think they should try going back to the old fashioned way of wrapping fish n chips in paper...fish n chips is so expensive nowadays it may help out a bit with their prices. I bought nuggets tonight and was told instead of 10 they have cut it to 9....cut out the extravagant boxes that would save them reducing the amount? Just a thought

Good traditional chippy with very large portions Did not do Rock Eel for the full marks from me but menu was pretty good and varied.

Fried chicken was put in a box with the chips and was dripping with grease/ and soaked with condensation. The chicken boxes are supposed to be used for chicken. Large cod was seen through the paper due to excessive grease. This isn’t the first time we’ve had an overly greasy take away from here, i understand it’s a greasy kind of meal, but you shouldn’t have to throw food away because it’s past the point of eating. Overall an absolute shambles and a waste of money. Wings were ok though on a positive note, probably down to them being packaged correctly. Still hungry

Efficient, friendly, good portions and not greasy at all. Will use again next time I treat the family for fish and chips.
