We booked No1 for a private function, the size of the space was perfect and the food was excellent! The staff are so friendly it felt like they were apart of the celebration and chris the manager was so understanding of our arrangements and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you No1

We have both eaten here and held our wedding celebration and our experiences have been great. We held our wedding meal and party here and absolutely everything from start to finish was perfect. Chris, Kerry and the team are fantastic, looking after us and all our guests on our special day. The food was absolutely excellent and all our guests agreed. The service was brilliant and the team made sure each guest, and any children were happy and had all they needed. The venue on the day looked so good, Chris and the team did a great job in laying everything out. In planning the event Chris put us at ease and was so flexible and accommodating and always kept us up to date. Chris made sure all our individual guests special dietary needs were catered for. He coordinated with the entertainment we had on that day and made sure everything went smoothly. We can’t thank you all enough for making our day so special.

We were there for my sons wedding breakfast. From start to finish the service was exemplary with all requests catered for. The food was great and covered all dietary needs. The atmosphere in the location was excellent helped by the owners and the staff plus the actors employed by the bride for after meal entertainment. I never give a 5 star rating but have in this case because it could not have been better. This was the first wedding reception at 1 cocklesheds and I hope that anybody getting married would consider this a great reception venue.

Fab location, decor, chilled music and delicious food! Great service and a nice vibe. We will be coming back to try out the lunches and the evening meals!

Celebrating a birthday as a family of 6, the service was outstanding and food came out quickly. We mostly had tapas, and the food was delicious! I also loved the music and the vibe. Would recommend the popcorn cockles, muscles and chicken wings as a highlight for me personally. Will be returning.

Brilliant location in Old Leigh. Very friendly and efficient staff. Recently tastefully refurbished to strike just the right tone, we had a a very tasty lunch. Well thought out menu with something for everyone. Well priced and a very nice place to be.

Breakfast menu was quite limited but we all enjoyed what we ordered. Service was very slow and coffee could have come in bigger cups and hotter.

Went here with 4 friends . We were pleasantly surprised how fabulous the food was . The service was good too. Highly recommended. Will definitely be coming back .

Very disappointing! After visiting for lunch in July and really enjoying the food, we decided to return for dinner with a friend who was visiting. Unfortunately it was almost empty so no atmosphere, but the food was nothing like my previous experience. The Provencal vegetables with the sea bass were under-cooked, and the fish and chips were no more than average. Won't be returning in a hurry.

Food excellent, Staff very friendly and service was swift and we were unhurried. Will definitely be returning next time we are back in area and would recommend other people to try.

Poped in on our way home for “one for the road” Sat outside where it was completely empty. It has covering so protective if there’s a rain. Ordered 2 glasses of procecco & we seem to wait ages! The restaurant wasn’t busy ( Wednesday late afternoon) It’s been re decorated since it closed after lockdown, and looked nice. We didn’t eat so can’t comment. Toilet were clean I went inside to pay our bill before leaving, as no one had come out to check if we needed anything more. Staff were not very attentive. There is a car park opposite.

I was really pleasantly surprised by the lunch we had here. The food was really nice and the service was good. Must make particular reference to the cod and chips that I had, the batter was fantastic, really light and crispy (I really hate soggy thick batter that you sometimes get!!), almost tempura like. Beware (and this is not a criticism), the starters are generous in size. My only criticism is the piped "euro pop". It wasn't needed on a Sunday lunchtime but then again maybe a couple in there 50's aren't the target audience.

We normally have 3 courses but had to wait absolutely ages to be severed, after being seated. It was not even half full so unsure why it was so poor. Decided not to bother with starters as we had waited so long for drinks. Food was really lovely when it arrived. Unfortunately, service just let this whole experience down- could not get a drink and when finally ordered second drink, it arrived when we had virtually finished main course. Didn’t want to risk dessert. We could see other tables waiting just as long and the staff seemed more concerned with cleaning empty tables than getting drinks out to waiting customers - unless it was a big group. If they can sort service, I thoroughly recommend the food and setting.

This place is great, the food is good, the ambience you could be on holiday. Lots of fish dishes, cocktails and sides. This should be busier than it is.

Excellent! We took my grandma there for a light Sunday bite and the food and service were exemplary! Firstly the food was absolutely delicious. We went for a selection of the tapas to share and all were wonderful - I’d particularly recommend the scallops and squid. The lady who served us went above and beyond to make sure my grandma was ok. My grandma was clearly quite tired when we arrived and she was so kind and led her gently to a table and helped her settle in. After we ate she said we could just relax and there was no hurry for us to leave. We needed to nip down the road but because my grandma was tired she was kind enough to chat with her while she waited for us to return for 10 minutes and even gave her a cup of tea and wouldn’t accept any payment. She was so friendly throughout. Thank you for your kindness. I wish you were closer to home!

Delicious mid-week lunch. Lovely healthy lunch, griddled sea bass, yummy pesto drizzle. The cod and chips was special with a light crispy batter, pea purée very tasty. Good service. Local beer from Leigh on Sea brewery. Nice location overlooking the sea.

Food was of very poor quality and the food preparation used was days old and stale,not fresh very poor not very nice at all. even the cocktails are not all that

Came in here for a quick drink at lunchtime before scattering my parents ashes with Browne's Thames estuary trips and upon return we were half an hour late for our booking of 4pm but the chef stayed on and the restaurant stayed open for us.Lovely seafood dishes like prawn cocktail and smoked salmon salad and the smoked salmon is proper fresh,wild salmon.Food,drinks and service we experienced was five star.Highly recommend and what a lovely location and setting.

Contemporary restaurant and terrace with amazing view of estuary, cockle boats, birds and across to Kent. Delicious, reasonably priced menu with very large portions. We loved the perfectly cooked seafood and the best popcorn cockles ever :). We popped in on spec but would recommend booking.
