Docking Fish Bar in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

Hot food and plenty for 2 with only one box of chips. Nice to see card packaging used although I did refuse the plastic bag. Fast service with 2 customers only in the waiting area, another lady was sent out until someone had gone from in the shop, all staff with masks as well. Very nice, will go back.

On holiday for 2 1,/2 weeks visited several times, really fresh, good quality fish, chips, AND!! ' batter bits' ( remember those??!!) , Recommend highly!

Staying in nearby cottage the local chippy was recommended as excellent. Unfortunately this was not our experience. The cod was so thin and batter soggy. Not worth the £4.50 charged. Chips okay, but after a 2 minute walk back needed warming up in the microwave. Also why do wrapped fish and chips need to come with a polystyrene tray? Can't be recycled and bad for the environment - No need for it! Three staff in the shop but no acknowledgement except from the lad serving and why cash only? During Covid-19 handling cash and food should be avoided.

Lovely food and very quick. Order Haddock which normally isn't ready and was very cooked and tasted amazing. Chips were great too so all in all a very lovely takeaway. There is also plenty of variety to cater your needs.

Had 3 portions of chips this evening...... chips we’re very under cooked!! Not used this chip shop in a few years and won’t use again until staff change or hear of a significant improvement!!

We live quite a way from Docking, but used to make a special trip to the Fish Bar. Lovely fish and chips, and unusually for Norfolk, not cooked in beef dripping, which we hate

Went for fish and chips for eight of us - my goodness, it was bad!!! The chips were terrible: hardly any good ones and loads of tiny scraps of chips - like they were the leftovers, even though it was only 6pm. The fish portions were tiny. The worst fish and chips ever... and we went out of our way for these . I wasn’t impressed

We visited to order for a group of 12 adults and children. The service was extremely speedy and the fish/ chips/ battered sausage was very tasty and enjoyed by all.

We both had Rock and Chips last night and it was absolutely excellent. Great taste, well cooked and fresh. On the first mouthful, we both looked at one another and said, in unison, how wonderful it was. Thank you Peter for such a great meal.

Called in last evening.fish portions were so small and thin and not that great,chips tasted like they had been cooked in burnt oil.staff were nice,but food not good at all.definately gone downhill😟

Was passing at 5pm so thought would try their fish n chips for tea. What a big mistake.Firstly the fish was so small and thin it couldn’t have weighed no more than 3 ounces, the chips were probably new potatoes But they hadn’t been rumbled so skin on tough small tasteless bits served on the smallest white food tray I’ve seen. Absolute ripoff I have never had or seen such a minuscule portion of food.Fish n chip shops like this one should be accountable and display the weight of the items you are buying as you would if buying from a store or supermarket.STOP RIPPING US OFF!! Be accountable.

On holiday chip shop supper for 13. Fish quite disappointing as near the seaside my local one is much better.

Used a few times while on holiday in Docking food was always very tasty, good value for money, Friendly staff.

In this part of NORFOLK it is a joy to go somewhere offering good quality unpretentious food. Everything is freshly cooked.mservice is excellent takeaway food.

Renting a cottage opppsite for a long weekend. Read good reviews so thought we would try on our first night. Quite busy when i went at around 18.30. My wife wanted cod and i rock, had sold out of rock so went for haddock. We shared a medium chips. All freshly cooked and very tasty. If we are in the area again will certainly visit.

Popped in to this fish and chip shop as I was passing on the way to Fakenham in Norfolk, it is on the main road going through the village of Docking and parked close by.

It was the first night of our holiday so we thought we would take the easy option of a Fish and Chip takeaway at the local chippy. There was a small queue which is often good and the staff were friendly, with our food being ready in a little more than 5 minutes and then the short drive to our cottage.

Popped in with a friend to grab cod and chips for Fat night and they were rammed with customers, summer is here and so are the holiday makers and this place is popular and I can see why. Only 2 members of staff working and they were working so hard and doing an absolutely fantastic job, we didn’t have to wait more than 10mins even though the line was out the door! Beautiful freshly cooked fish and chips we could have eaten it twice it was so good. Really friendly chaps and they went out of their way for customers requests.

Arrived in Docking on Friday and thought we would try it. Fish was cooked fresh and within 5 mins and was very tasty (a queue of ‘regulars’ is a good sign).

Stayed in Docking a couple of weeks ago. This Fish and Chip Takeaway is well situated in the Main Street. We had Cod and Chips which was freshly cooked, and really top quality ingredients. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Thought we’d eat cheaply last night so tried the Docking Fish Bar. Initial impressions were good (my father always said that you should queue for good fish & chips) as we joined a very jovial queue of local guys, apparently stopping off for dinner on way home.

Always clean welcoming tasty and hot - what more can you ask.Prices are reasonable and its very popular owing to good quality and friendly atmosphere.

After moving to Norfolk last year we decided on finding some good fish and chips, and we found some very good fish and chips! Really friendly owners, very reasonably priced and pretty much cooked fresh.

Have eaten from here a few times when on holiday in Docking, it really is a great chippy. Lovely fresh fish and they do haddock which I prefer, batter is nice and light. More importantly they cook the chips properly, chips from our local at home are always undercooked and anaemic looking, here they are golden and lovely.

We were working nearby so stoped for lunch here, medium chips , cod and curry sauce . Well seasoned chips , a great curry sauce and freshly cooked fish with lovely crisp batter .

Excellent food served from here, far better than any of the fish and chip establishments in and around Hunstanton area

Was just visiting the area and wanted local fish & chips. We were not disappointed. They were tasty, very generous and very quick. Well worth a visit in the future again.

We generally visit here for fish and chips on holiday. Unfortunately this year they weren't as good. The chips were ok but everyone who had fish in our large group (both haddock and cod) had the batter completely removed on opening the paper as it was completely stuck to it and the fish wasn't as nice as it usually is. Hopefully just a bad night

Really quick, friendly and the food was tasty. There is sometimes a wait but it is definitely worth it

Good chips on this visit however can vary in quality earlier in the day as with a lot of chippys but still never bad and reasonably priced apart from cans quite expensive

A take away service that provides good value for money. Portions are good and invariably fresh cooked. Polite and helpful. No reason not to stop by and popular with locals.

We had rented a cottage in Docking for the weekend and bought fish and chips for Saturday night. The fish was generous and well cooked, the chips were tasty and the price was reasonable. One person had the chicken breast and said it was moist and tasty. Excellent all round!

was a regular here before we moved last month and miss the fish and chips here. Always delivered good fish and chips.

We had fish and chips here in November and it was very good. You need to check the opening times as winter is different to summer. Would use again with no hesitation. Lovely haddock!

We've had fish and chips from here many times before and they've been fantastic every time - beautiful fresh fish in the lightest batter and chips without black bits. Definitely worth a visit

After a long journey to Norfolk we very pleased with the decision to get fish & chips from this shop. We rang ahead & our order was quickly ready. The fish was lovely and the chips were the best chips I have eaten for a long time. We would definitely return.

Have begun to use this chips hop on a regular basis, not too far away, very friendly staff, and the food is good. Good pineapple rings, cod, and chips. Worth a visit.

At the end of an eventful day at the beach, we were all feeling a little tired & decided to call in to the Fish Bar at Docking which we had passed earlier in the day.We ordered fish, chips & mushy peas for 6 & continued on our way back to Sedgeford where we were holidaying. The shop had a good selection of fish and was nice & clean.The food smelled scrumptious & proved to be one of the best meals from a fish bar we had ever tasted. The food was fresh & well cooked without being greasy or fatty.The two little under 5 year olds ate the meal happily & we all agreed that we had made a good decision in buying from this shop

We generally holiday here once a year and always return to Docking fish bar for our first night fish and chips, this year did not disappoint again and the chips, fish and sausages were enjoyed by all.

We live in the village too and have bought fish and chips here plenty of times.I can only assume the previous poor review was very much a blip as this chip shop is well regarded locally, as one of the best around!

Driving through the village,we saw the bright lights and called in. We were not disappointed - absolutely spotless premises, generous servings of freshly cooked fish and chips, and smart, polite serving staff. Docking must be proud of you - it is worth a detour for anyone to sample the fare. Well done.
