Supafry Fish & Chips in King's Lynn and West Norfolk

I've tried mostly all of the Fish and Chip.shops in Hunny, this place is by far the best fish and chips in Hunstanton. They also cook everything in beef dripping, like the good old days. The batter on the fish was just perfect, crispy and melting in your mouth. The chips was freshly made and just perfect and delicious. The staff was very friendly and the owner was there too and was hands on, keeping an eye on things, which is a good sign. The portions are massive, if you are not a big eater, you can easily share a portion of fish and chips.

Nice fish and chips, batter definitely on the heavier/thick side - personally I prefer a lighter batter. Sides of sausage and curry sauce were also decent. Chicken portion was probably the driest piece of chicken I've ever had. Nice chap behind the counter.

Fantastic fish and chips. A large piece of fish and so many chips that we couldn't eat them all...we saved them and reheated them later. All at a reasonable price. We will return!

Decided to try Supafry as not been in there for ages, but will never use again. Fish was tiny, dry and in places non existent. It was like batter upon batter, over cooked and inedible. I'm on SW and had intention of peeling off batter to eat a fillet of fish, once I peeled mine, it was a few dry flakes. (Picture of my son's, which was better than mine, but still not good compared to other places) Thoroughly disappointed for a family lunch at the seaside. £35 and not good at all.

Had fish and chips Thursday evening, absolutely awful, most of the fish was just batter which was hard, bit of fish each end which was dry, this used to be a great Fish and chip shop 2 or 3 years ago.

We've had fish and chips from here before with no problems. However, yesterday the batter on the fish was very thick and almost inedible. We managed to extract the fish and throw away the batter. The chips were OK. Very disappointing indeed.

1 st time in Hunstanton and did not like the fish and chips soggy and did not get the gravy we r on holiday and was disappointed will not buy from here again

Far better than Henry’s further down the street where we received terrible food and service on two occasions. Thankfully we realised this place was further up the street and got to enjoy some really good fish & chips. Very friendly service.

Having been in all the fish and chip shops in Hunstanton I can honestly say that this is the best one around, the food is amazing and the staff deliver excellent customer service, definitely recommend!

Lovely young lad serving. Excellent fish and chips. We also had battered sausages&onion rings with a pot of curry sauce to finish the order off. All of the food was very good, and we really enjoyed our meal.

My partner always brought fish and chips from here last week wasn’t very good the fish this week was awful and went in the bin. They have just lost a local customer.

One of best fish and chip shops I've been to. Don't be fooled by the slightly run down look to it the food is so much better then from fancy looking ones down the road with the long queues and higher prices.

Decided to try it after looking at the reviews on here, as had been to Fishers the previous night and that was great but pricey. This one still had a queue out the door and a bit of a wait, especially if it wasn't cod/sausages. Food was reasonably priced for a holiday destination, and my family of two adults and two kids had 1 cod, two sausages, curry sauce and large chips between us for 15 quid and it did the family. Quality wise - it was OK. Nothing special, but good value.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the young man 'serving' us. Nothing but respect and politeness shown from me and my mum ordering food and yet we were met with a very rude attitude. He refused to even look at us when we spoke to him, continuously rolled his eyes and barely engaged with us.We were treated as if we were nuisances and not customers.

Food was acceptable but service was slow and prices were inflated - however the most appalling factor was the racist and aggressively rude service from the young man behind the counter. I have never known anyone to be so disgusting and abusive to my wife and children because of the colour of their skin. Not a place I would recommend going to unless you are anything but white, British and a paying member of if the BNP. Never seen my wife so close to tears after spending £50 on fish and chips! AVOID this bigoted establishment at all costs

Called in for cod and chips on Sunday 1st May afternoon. Place was quiet compared to sea front but staff were friendly and talkative. Cod and chips were best I've had for a long time. Fish batter was very light and tasty.

The queue outside Fisher’s was ridiculous so we walked a few steps further to this little fish and chip shop and walked straight in! Lovely fish and tasty chips. Good mushy peas and curry sauce. Paid by card. Polite and friendly. Highly recommended and cut that queuing!!

I usually go to the other chip shops further down the hill but decided to try this one due to it being so busy elsewhere. All I can say is I am hooked , the fish and chips were absolutely yummy , staff very friendly and prices very reasonable. Well worth the walk up the hill , you will not be disappointed

Just ordered a lightly battered Haddock & Chips....defentley not impressed!! Fish was very bland with no taste, which suggests FROZEN...chips where very oily too... afterwards, my mouth was left feeling oily, needed water to rinse mouth. Would I order again....NO THANK YOU

After our last Fishaster in Hunstanton we thought we would give an out of the way Chippy a go. We were greeted by a friendly cheerful young Man, Svy (Please forgive Spelling) Our Cod was cooked fresh to order and was served golden and crispy in a very tasty Batter on a bed of the best Chips I have had in a long time, he was happy to cater to my CDO of the Salt going on first (CDO is like OCD but in Alphabetical Order, AS IT SHOULD BE!!!!) and the order was well wrapped so it was still piping hot when we got back to the Caravan, this is our new Go To Chip shop in Sunny Hunny!

Sausages in batter & chips was ok, a little greasy.

Slow service as the fish is cooked to order! The batter was not crispy. A minute or two more cooking may have improved things. However, that may have impacted adversely on the wait time. A tricky balance. All OK but nothing to write home about.

It was lovely to order traditional fish and chips cooked while you wait and boy was the wait worth it. The fish was cooked to perfection and the chips (real potatoes not frozen like some these days!) tasted great being cooked in beef dripping. Oh and the curry sauce was flavoursome but not too hot. Would definitely give more stars if we could....

Queues at supper time for good reason. Well prepared fish and chips, lovely fish in crisp batter, good chips, nothing greasy. Portions are generous but not too big. Regular is enough for two small or not very hungry eaters.

Used this chip shop a few times as it was recommended, we loved their fish and chips and would do the extra walk up the hill just for that. However, on the 11.09.2021, myself and my family walked from the very bottom of the beach to this specific chip shop to be told 2 of my family members could be served and had to repeat the order three times untill the rude young lad got the order correct From a fellow colleague who was clearly listening to her customer orders clearly was to fussed about finishing work than his currentcustomer's!! However, I wasn't able to order and was told very rudely they was closing. We only wanted a portion of chips! My son had to go without and we had to go elsewhere! The young 'lad' was very rude to us ALL!! And had a very poor attitude towards other customers also!! Safe to say, we WILL NOT! Be returning to this chip shop after the rude attitude from them and will take our custom to someone who is willing to give us great customer service.

Well worth walking a few extra metres to this sometimes overlooked takeaway. A very good menu, good choice of fish and clean as a pin. Friendly staff and tasty food!

Lovely chips and nuggets, only two gripes, adult and kids chip sizes are the same and the guy threw salt and vinegar on top of our sausages and nuggets instead of on top of the chips so we had salty nuggets 😂

Cheaper, better and friendlier staff. Dont follow the crowd. A quality fish and chip shop. You couldnt ask for me.

The shop is situated on the outer edge of the shopping area so unless you know the shop or walk past you may well miss it. The food is exceptional both in taste and quantity. The only downside is the shop Is very small, a larger shop and nearer the centre and the place would make an absolute killing. There are plenty of other fish & chip shops nearby but none beats Supafry.

My partner was refused service in this shop due to not having a face mask although he was medically exempt. Discriminative behaviour

Beautiful fish and chips. The fish was really firm and fresh tasting and the batter was lovely and crisp. We sat and ate them on the grass looking out to sea and it was perfect.

This place might be cheap & cheerful but they fry some excellent fish & chips. The queue may be long (but not as long as some others eg Eric's) but it's worth the wait & always a pleasure to eat fish and chips along the cliff top.

Visited today, 2nd time in the last 6 weeks... Fantastic fish and chips, cooked to perfection in beef dripping, just as they should be. Make sure that you are hungry because you get a very good feed for £7, very generous portions

Supafry is the best chippie in Hunstanton by far. Chips always amazing, fish chunky, flaky and perfectly cooked.

We have ordered from here twice during our time in Hunstanton. We chose it in the first instance because it was clear that they are wearing masks and there wasn't a huge queue/crowd like the front of the chip shops near the green. We were really pleased to find that they are also using gloves and sanitising their hands very regularly and are very aware of the importance of this. By contrast, ALL of the vendors we had seen along the seafront,from the cafe by the crazy golf course ,the food vans on the prom, to the cafe at South Beach, Heacham were NOT sanitising or wearing masks at all and we did NOT use them because of this. The food from Supafry was delicious. Our order was cooked fresh for us which is my favourite kind of service from a chip shop. The fish was very generous,chunky and tender. The batter was light. It was so tasty we went back a second time. My son loved the chips and declared them the best he has had. Our only regret is that we don't live closer so we could visit Supafry more often. We will definitely be back again on our next visit to sunny Hunny though. A huge thank you from a shielding family that has only just begun to venture out again for the care you take in keeping up the covid safety standards.

Fish and chips at the seaside usually consists of over priced, miniscule, poor quality, poorly prepared rubbish, served by people who are rude. This is not the case here, the portion size was reasonable, well cooked, tasted fantastic and was served by a very pleasant young guy who smiled. What more can one ask for?

We have had Fish n Chips and Sausage n chips from here twice now and both occasions have been excellent. So tasty. We've had a little wait but well worth it. We really enjoyed them.

Friendly staff, good fish and chips with mushy peas or gravy and the option of a pickled egg if that takes your fancy. It was cash only when I went though so be prepared.

Unfortunately I can't eat here, as I am vegetarian and the chips are cooked in beef dripping, but my friends and family love it - and I used to before becoming a veggie. The fish is also usually generous and well cooked, lovely mushy peas and gorgeous curry sauce. The staff are also friendly, service usually quick (but sometimes larger queues, due to its popularity, but well worth the wait). The scraps are great too.

We went to Superfry because our favourite shop (Sallys) was closed, and reviews were good. We had cod and chips. The cod was very nice but the chips were very pale and a bit soggy. Not crisp and fluffy inside. Perhaps it was a bad day but sorry we won't be going there again.

My wife and I visit the area often, this is our go to place to eat on the go, never been let down, all cooked fresh, lovely people run this place, and the food is delicious, excellent food, excellent prices, excellent staff, looking forward to our next visit.

Great chips. Creamy inside and a nice flavour of beef dripping coating them. There could have been more crunchy bits among the soft chips though, and the batter on the cod was a bit thin, hence the 4 stars.

Visited after reading the positive reviews and we were not disappointed! Much better flavour than Fisher's and well cooked. Curry sauce and mushy peas were tasty and traditional chip-shop style. No queue, it seems most people haven't yet discovered this great little takeaway. Only downside was no orange Fanta, but they did have fruit twist and that was almost as good. Won't go anywhere else in Hunstanton now.

The best fish and chips in Norfolk let alone Hunstanton large pieces of fish. It seems most holiday makers are attached to the chip shops nearer the beach and are not aware of this little gem just up the road opposite the church. Better prices and larger fish

I came here with my mother Carol who sadly passed away in June 2019 she loved this chippy as great meals giving good value for money so well done OK!
