My father and I recently dined at this spot nestled on Mill Road. Having hastily unpacked my room for university, my father and I trekked over Parker’s piece to Fin Boys. We had both long wanted to try this restaurant however one of our family has a fish allergy thus we had previously admired from afar. The reputation preceded it and we were excited, if not a touch apprehensive, to see whether our lofty expectations could ever be matched. Spoiler, they were. The food was impeccable and the complementing wines were a real treat. We opted for two small plates and two large plates which was more than enough food for two people. The dishes were incredibly rich and the quality of ingredients meant you were sufficiently satiated. The vibe inside the restaurant was relaxed and pleasant, with each member of the team taking their time to enjoy genuine conversation with the diners at chefs table about each dish coming out. Whilst the menu is on the expensive side, I believe this a very fair price for the quality of produce and the high standard of work. Finboys is conscious of its quality and I respect any business that doesn’t set its stool out too low. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to celebrate an occasion and I can’t wait to return.

I don't recommend this place. They take far too long to serve (isn't chippy supposed to be fast food?). There is a huge thick plastic barrier separating customers from the staff (what are they afraid of?) and they put on minimal amounts of salt and vinegar (when it's asked for). You have no way of reaching for the salt n vinegar because it's hidden away (like a precious treasure trove would be hidden). Fish and chips were OK, nothing special. If you want proper good chippy, go to St Anne's on the Sea. It seems that getting good fish n chips in the UK now is increasingly difficult. Just another symptom of a country in decay I'm afraid

Recently moved to the area from Sheffield and theres nothing I hate more than poor takeaways and more so poor Fish and Chips. Did loads of research as to the best Fish and Chip shop in Spalding / area and all roads led to "OH My Cod" based in reviews and ratings. Easy to see why. Fish and chips were incredible and portion size was great value for money 💰 I tried all x4 accompaniments ; Mushy Peas, Gravy , Curry and Tartar Sauce - all great. Gravy thick , peas tasty, curry sauce tangy and fruity and tartar sauce home made. Well done all here - staff were really welcoming too - my new "local"

Best fish and chips in Pocklington by far, and the nicest fish I've had compared to most other places I've been to. But getting very expensive. It's a bit of a luxury getting fish and chips now. We used to get them often from here, but can't remember the last time. Bit of a tragedy really considering it is supposed to be the staple English meal. Not any more.

Queued for 35 minutes, queued out of the door whilst they worked flat out to service Uber delivery drivers, I had a piece of fish that was cooked 25 minutes previously and not very good, fish, chips and peas very poor quality and unbelievable from a chippy that I've used exclusively in Shrewsbury for over 40 years and which in my opinion the very best, so sad, the Uber disease has taken over and will only get worse. I witnessed orders taking ages to complete and probably as bad as the ones I took home, it was a total waste of money and I won't be rushing back there any time soon, I tried a very good chippy just East of Shrewsbury which is the same distance from my house as Monkmoor and no queues
