Wilsons FIsh & Chips in Lewisham

What a shame - the new owners seem to have changed a few suppliers (sausages are now appalling !) and the the quality of the meal we received last night was poor. Chips are now greasy - they never used to be - fish good quality but overcooked, greasy tasteless batter and multiple fillets wrapped in the same package - they broke up and fell apart on the way home. My first takeaway since ownership change was interestingly different, last night’s was enough to want to look elsewhere after 2 decades of custom. This WAS the best chippy in SE23…. Now…..?

Portions are big and extremely scrumptious! The owners are really friendly and welcoming too. Would definitely recommend!

So I’ve been coming here since I was born 31 years ago. I moved from London in 2010 and went back to see family and I went here and to my surprise same people and as all the times before you get more chips than can be eaten. Fed 3 of us and had 2 chip Sarni. Keep up good work and I’ll be seeing you again later this month.

Same people have run this shop for years and they certainly have a good trade. Generously sized portions at a good price and well cooked. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Fresh tasting food.

Great Fish & chipsy, lovely appetizers. You can skip mains, but must have desserts. Look and taste perfect. Creme brulee, chocolate fondant, tart. . All!

The food is good, portions are generous in the extreme and the owners are such lovely people. I have been using this chippy for years and the food is always good.
