St Michael's Fisheries in Leeds

I ordered the large fish and regular chips. Nice big piece of fish, not a slithery little thing you get from some chippies (the regular fish is also a decent size). Chips were well cooked and fluffy. Perfect mushy peas and everything is reasonably priced considering the cost of fish and chips these days. I live locally, and it's nice to have a decent takeaway i can rely on and not spend a fortune. Friendly staff and quick service.

Incredible food and service. Used to come here as a girl and l can say the original owner would have loved what the charming Greek owner has done. The reviewer Richard T who clearly is the local Brexit Bigot should know his rude behaviour would have made the original Yorkshire owner tell him to sling his hook. This fish and chip shop sells the best Yorkshire celebrates from a chip butty to battered halloumi. Thank you for converting me to this wonderful dish. The army of devoted customers stand with the owner. Headingley lucky to have you.

I was extremely impressed with the quality of taste of the fish and chips I ordered at St Michael's Fisheries. The fish was cooked fresh to order, and the better was perfect, just the way I like it! The chips were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and not greasy. As always, I received outstanding customer service and the staff were very polite and helpful. Highly recommended!

Fish chips and peas at their very best! Very fairly priced and served with a smile by friendly staff. who are both brilliant and helpful. Extras such as "Chip Spice" avaulable.

It is some years since I last visited what had been my regular chippy when I lived in the area. The standard is still good and the food was greatly enjoyed.

Excellent fish and chips. Tasty and generous portion. Staff friendly and courteous too. Will definitely be returning for more stamps on my new loyalty card.

I went yesterday and the fish and chips were superb. Batter and fish were perfect, very fresh fish, chips cooked perfectly and great taste.

Just about got some food as the gas had gone. Felt very sorry for the Lady and Lad behind the fryers as there was a test match on and they must have lost some revenue. Anyway they cobbled some stuff together for us which we were thankful for. The fish was good, the chips were ok but the fish cake was a little stodgey. Will revert next time i'm up to give them another crack of the whip...hope they got their gas fixed.

The food looked good, but unfortunately, failed to deliver on taste. The chips were not crisp enough and were tasteless. The sausage in batter was awful. The sausage itself was grey looking and tasteless. The batter was nice, but only covered a multitude of sins. Only could eat a third of it, before giving it up as a bad job.

Lovely lady looked after me, the food was fantastic. I was staying at Headingley Lodge and this establishment was convenient. Highly recommend you won’t be disappointed.

Tucked out of the way on a quiet lane well away from student hell, I only saw this place out of the corner of my eye and had half walked past it. Luckily I still had 5 minutes till it closed. The lovely, friendly lady behind the counter cooked me the best fish I've had in ages. Very light, crisp batter and even a few chips thrown in for free. Given the amount of terrible chippy's and takeaways out there, I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

What a good, old-fashioned fish & chip shop. Tucked away on a side street near to Headingley cricket ground, the queue said it all. Food wonderful, prices very good, the staff friendly. Made the night superb.

My son recommended this place as he said the fish was fresh and they knew how to fry it up crispy but not overly battered or greasy. Large potions and price was excellent - quite the value. If I lived in Leeds, I would go there at least once a week for the lunch special. If you like authentic fish and chips, you will not be disappointed. This is take-away only. Wish they had inside dining.

I live quite close to this little chippy and it has changed hands quite a few times over the last few years, however, I have to say that the current owners have got it spot on. The two guys who work in the shop are friendly and really chatty, proper dudes. The fish and chips are great and of equal quality and less expensive than the other very well known chip shop in Headingley. Fabulous for a Friday night “chippy tea”

We as a couple are always trying new places to eat,drink, venture too, this week took us very much inland to watch the rugby, being a Friday and Friday being fish day we thought to give this little place a try, a little away from the students being dressed up as lifeguards, Barbie and such like, it seemed ideal (6mins from headinley stadium as well).

Recently tried this lovely little fish shop with what looked to be a mother and daughter working alongside each other and extremely friendly with the nicest fish and chips ive had in a lng time

I have had fish and chips from here twice, hoping the second time they would be better but both times the batter has been soggy and the fish didn't taste properly cooked. I wouldn't recommend

Great traditional back street chippy. Fish fried to order and certainly delicious. Efficient polite young staff and great to pop into before the cricket at Headingley, just five minutes walk away. Prices are excellent as well.
