I have been coming this chip shop years always amazing service, all lady's are so friendly and warm welcome eat inside with kids lovely little place and have had delivery few times always been lovely food cooked to perfection and prices are spot on xxx

Came into chippy today with the children as soon as we walked in the staff made the children feel so welcome nothing was a issue even though my 6 year kept changing his mind 😂 Food was amazing The staff all had smiles on faces and couldn't have made me and my children feel more welcome if they tried Please go along and pay them a visit as we will be back Thank you xxx

I don't know if the cooks got better (the cooks are always good 🥰) lol Or if JJ's have changed what they fry in but this last 2 times I have been the fish was excellent as always but the batter and chip taste brought back child hood memory's. Of how chips n batter used to taste and I love it Keep up the good food JJ's my number 1 fish special was heavenly.

This back street chippy is a little gem. Just off the Parkway. However, the area is less than comfortable but look past that. There is home made pie (if available), decent portions, good batter, and service is always prompt.

best fish and chips in our area . but when they go on holiday they not so good due to fryer just cant get batter mix not as nice

Fantastic little chippy with gorgeous homemade pies. Good offers and excellent value kids meals. Highly recommend the jacket potato with chicken tikka. Staff are always friendly and food always piping hot and freshly cooked. Thanks guys:)

Good tasty fish and chips with friendly service from the staff.There is a small sitting down area should you want to eat inside.They display a notice staying where all the products are sourced from which is reassuring to know that they are sourced locally.

Beautifully cooked food - My children loved the pie and the fish was perfectly cooked. It is great value for money and all of the staff were very friendly. I am very fussy about fish but JJ's served up a lovely fresh fish in a very tasty batter.

This is by far the best chippy in the area. Plenty of choice other than fish. Although we always stick to the beautiful flaky fish ourselves. Other chip shops don't come anywhere close in quality and price. The portions are generous and lovely friendly staff. A real find and worth a trip.

Took the kids for dinner travel three mile normally excellent. Got my order went home opened the bag the chips were dark brown tasted burnt. So travelled three miles back. Staff were rude. Followed me to car shouting at me she got manager in phone. Finally got my money back and a fresh order. Still not that nice. Travelled 12 miles over all. Been shouted at. Never again......

Jj 's chippy serves quality food excellent prices and a clean and friendly environment you will have to pay a lot more elsewhere for this type of quality

Nice little place, clearly has a good reputation, quite a busy place. Service is very friendly. Good is really good. Very nice bit of fish, chips nice, not anaemic coloured. The pies looked very tempting too, homemade. Will be returning. Only down side is that it's not open late. Closes at 7pm

In the Dearne Valley which is known in the past for coal mining - between Doncaster and Barnsley, Hemsworth and Rotherham - is Goldthorpe. A quiet ex-mining town with good people and good character. Situated near the middle of Goldthorpe (the place mentioned in the news when Ex PM Thatcher died) is Jj's Chippy.While I have lived close to Goldthorpe and before when visiting friends I have called in to here and usualy it is quite good. However I have to black-mark them as I have had a couple bad experiences coming to a head recently.In the past the home made pies sold have been awful. I bought and binned one and so did my friend. Recently however - while waiting in a cue, the person being served (First of about five before me) had a large order and all was well. A person came in and asked for a portion of fish bites to be put in, the staff lady asked if anything else was to go in and it seemed as though a burger was missed by another person waiting before me.When the fish bites came out (still same place in the cue) it seemed that that customer was going to be served (asked about what was going with, sauces ect) and after several minuites of waiting I decided to leave and go elsewhere. Last in - next to be served isn't usualy how things work. I advise to look in and see how the cue is. If it's busy and/or you want a home made pie there are better places to go. I apologise as this is/was a good chip shop - but I have to draw a line at times.

Just bought lunch here and what a find this place wasPerfect chips, home made pies, I had minced beef, it was fantastic, I can't remember the last time I ate pie from a chippy as they all sell pre bought ones that are full of air not filling and taste of nothing. This was better than my mum ever made :)Friendly staff, clean as a new pin and very very reasonable prices.I can't recommend this chippy enough, I just wish I lived closer

The best fish and chips ever tasted!! Great staff, very pleasent too. Also do a fantastic kids party menu so you don't have the stress or the mess of party snacks getting thrown all over and crumbs in your carpets.

Excellent value & choice for the money, great fish & chips along with nice friendly staff to serve you. Surrounding spotless & clean. Nothing is too much trouble!
