We have been coming here for years, they do a very nice tasty donner kebab and the chips are always good. Never had a complaints.

Have been coming for years to get food here, we have tried others but always come back as they are the best. Was shocked to see someone leave them a terrible review but then looked at the reviewers profile and they've pretty much said it for everyone, probably one of those folks who eat it then take it back for a refund. This places isn't shiny new no, but always seen is clean, have never seen poor hygiene here. Mini fish bites are the best!

Lovely fish and chips. Very generous portions. Staff were really friendly. Will visit again when we are in the area.

Just been to Richard and Maggie’s chip shop on Stanton Hill - stood outside at 17:25 waiting for it to open ( thought it opened at 17:00) . Whilst we were waiting a lady came the the door, the owner opened the door at 17:30 and in walks afore mentioned lady - straight behind the counter puts her phone / purse / Keys down and without washing her hands or tying back her hair ( long ponytail touching her breast) wearing the clothes she was stood outside in with no apron, no gloves, proceeds to serve the chap in front of us. Yes I should have walked out at that point the owner took our order , she only took the money. Imagine my disgust when we get home and this is what they have served as a cheeseburger … 🤮 🤢the rest of the food was pretty 💩 too Excuse for the state of the burger? It’s fried in the same basket as the chips …. Whole order returned, refund received, email to environmental health sent Never will I set foot in that place again Never ever will I set foot in there again

We have 4 chippys where I live and I would sooner drive 8 miles to this one and back, to get chips so nice that you can eat them with nothing on them or with them which is a rare thing these days, they are always friendly and hard working and place looks spotless and clean. I discovered this place when working in that area, my only complaint is they are based so far away from where I live.

This is a hidden gem of a chip shop, their kebabs very well proportioned, the mini fish n chips n peas are simply loverly and very generous portion of fish too. Chips are simply to die for. You'll travel all over the UK , but you'll always end up saying . Not as good as Richards and Maggie's.well done.

Always good service and friendly staff. Always a queue which speaks volumes. We wont go anywhere else

All I can say is excellent. There were 6 of us and we all had cod and chips.Large portions and lovely cod. Yummy. Service was great. You need to go a long way to find better.

Used to nip here a couple of times a week. They weren't the cheapest in the area, but food OK and local within walking distance. Put prices up before Christmas, than only a few weeks later, prices up again, sorry, but better value at many of the local pubs for grub. Greedy

There are only a few good chippies in the Mansfield area...this is one. The queues at 6pm are way out the door. Shuts early as do most around now.

Best chip shop south of the Humber. We’ve been eating fish and chips from here for years and we’ve never had a bad meal. The fish is always great quality and the batter is really tasty. Highly recommended

We have been coming to this chip shop for a long time now, it was recommended to us and we have never looked back! The staff are friendly, the chips are consistently gorgeous, very very good quality and me and my family actually drive out for these chips! We think they are cooked to a nice consistency, always fresh, we love it! The place is very clean, overall we are very happy with them and would urge them to open a chippy near us!

This is the place to come in Stanton Hill for excellent fish and chips to take away. Prices are reasonable, quantities are large and service is prompt.

There is always consistent high quality to the food here. The fish is excellent - skin and bone free and the batter is good, There is a wide range of choice.

Been going to this fish shop for a couple of years now and always rated it the best for miles but dont know what has happened the chips have gone downhill for a few weeks now but tonight could'nt eat either the fish or chips sure they were reheated has it changed hands

Just a quick lunch Chips gravy sausage for wife Burger cob fritter for me Must say proper chips not frozen nice gravy and sausage Large burger nicely done

Best in the area by far just try it everything is brill can be busy but worth waiting for don't be put off if you have to wait they have a very good menu and prices are good

We drive past other chip shops to come here . Everything is fresh and hot . Everything is top quality . Friendly place as well . Always good value for money. We will continue to get our fish and chips here .

Haría todo lo posible para ir a este chips por aquí. Sé que los propietarios personalmente y de años, nunca me decepcionó. Las patatas fritas son siempre sabroso y fresco. Sin duda recomendaría sus peces grandes, por alguna razón sabe mejor que cualquier otra tienda de chips que he visitado.

Always super service! Food is lovely and well priced. We try and get everytime we're off school. Its our school holiday treat.

Great place to get fish and chips. Good value and friendly staff. We have a takeaway every Friday. Also sell kebabs, pies etc and Chinese style curry sauce.

My wife and I have been going to this chippy, for a number of years and are never disappionted. They will even cook a fresh chips for you.

I am a regular attender at Richard and Maggies at least twice a month, the friday nights queue says it all, great fish n chips the way they should be always served with a smile

This is our local fish and chip shop and has been since 1998 when we moved to St Anton Hill ( joke). We have never had bad quality food from Richard and Maggies. We visit probably once or twice a month, and the quality and quantity is always consistent and the price is he same as anywhere else. It is so popular that if Richard and Maggies ever closed down, St Anton Hill residents would starve.

staying at the local campsite and having gone out for a walk around the trails this chip shop was recommended at the excellent Teversal visitor centre and was well worth the 10 minute walk up the hill - we choose the mini fish & chips which were good value , tasty and very filling would happily recommend

Without doubt super chips,cracking kebab and huge mini fish special. Best in Britain very highly likely! Ideal stop for caravaners staying at Teversal on old colliery grounds. You'll not regret it.

Richard and Maggie are lovely friendly people serving great tasting fish and chips, and the rest. But the best thing is their gravy. Get more than you need because you'll love it

Only live 2 minutes drive from here which is very convenient, however if I lived 20 minutes drive I would still go! Delicious fish chips curry sauce and every other item they serve!! Great friendly service every time you enter :)

Average fish and chip shop with limited menu. They do not have a wide selection of pies and the staff would obviously rather be doing other things.

I'd heard good things about this chippy and they were right. Lovely chips and the homemade fish cakes they do are fab (they have a great spicy kick to them). The staff are great too, very friendly. I'll be visiting again.

We had been told the fish was good so we tried it and it was really good, very meaty and big portions the chips were good also.

One of the best tasting fish and chips in Ashfield ,very friendly staff too. Prices are good. Downside single yellow lines outside making parking not so good, however co op has a car park very close by

Really lovely chippy. Richard and Maggie are very pleasant people, as are all the staff here. Their kebabs are very good too. Plenty of parking over the road (there are double yellow lines outside shop). Would definitely recommend anyone in the area visit Richard and Maggies.

As it's been said one of the best chip shops in the area. The battered homemade fish cake is a must, lovely slightly spicy flavour. The chinese style curry is also a boon. Recommended!

This is the first place we head for after being away! The best fish and chips and service to go with it.The staff always remember our order, and welcome us back like long lst friends!A real treat.

Fantastic place, the owners are lovely and the food really nice and different from your average chippy chips. Highly recommended! Beware though, the curry sauce is hot! Very different to your run of the mill curry sauce from your average chippy.
