Female member of staff at the bristo square stall was so rude and horrible, completely put me off ever giving them my money again.

Had tickets for an afternoon show during the Edinburgh Festival & Fringe, afterwards we needed sustenance. This was provided by Barnacles and Bones, in the Teviot/George Square area. For £12 each we ate well, some chunks of chargrilled steak on a large bed of skinny chips (Yeah I know they're advertised as 'fries', but they're chips really) all covered with a large dollop of blue cheese sauce. It was delicious and the steak beautifully cooked so it was pink and juicy inside. I have no plans to go back to the Festival this year but I'd happily eat at Barnacles and Bones again if I did.

Nos topamos con el pop-up en la Universidad de Edimburgo. Absolutamente me encantó. Tenía bistec con patatas fritas sazonadas y todo estaba muy sabroso. Recomendaría.

Ate the crab and sweet corn fritters, and the signature crab of the day on fries, and was very satisfied. I highly recommend this place and I will certainly be going again when visiting Edinburgh!!

I stumbled upon this place yesterday and was so impressed by the menu! Great to be able to have some healthy, fresh fast food. I had the crab with quinoa salad and it was delicious! A really generous portion size too. The slaw was great - really chunky and crunchy and not just drowning in mayonnaise! The owner was telling me he gets his crabs from a local fisherman in Fife which I thought was a really nice touch. They also do delivery which I will definitely be trying next time I'm in Edinburgh!

We visited in September on the recommendation of a friend and we're glad we went. Situated behind John Lewis, the food is served from a cute little hut. We both had the slow cooked short rib of beef with tarragon chips and it was really yummy! It tasted fresh and was just the right amount for lunch time. We saw a couple of people with crab too and that looked just as good!! The guy who runs the stall is really and friendly and there are a couple of stools to perch on to eat your food if you want to hang about. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

I have visited B&B on a number of occasions now and I am never disappointed. The slow cooked short rib beef on top of tarragon chips and slaw is my personal favourite and is what keeps me coming back. The prices are fantastic considering the quality of food that is served and the server (Hal) is always cheery and willing to banter while preparing your food. If you haven't tried it then what are you waiting for, I will definitely be back.

Never had suspended coffee before - it's not bitter even when it's black. The beef broth is amazing. So good on a cold day and reasonably priced. Loads of veggies, barley and tender beef. I'll be back!

Unfortunately, my meal was not as wonderful as the rest of the reviews seem to suggest. While on paper scallop, blackpudding and apple in a bun may sound delicious, the greasy falling apart burger was a mess to say the least, carelessly arranged and frankly tasted horrific. It also doesn't help that the roe of the scallops were left on, not a fan. Perhaps review this option B&B.

Had the pleasure of visiting B&B today after reading good reviews. It is conveniently situated next to John Lewis so it isn't hard to spot. I had the crab in a white roll accompanied with some side slaw. The crab was very fresh and the slaw was tangy, crunchy and very yummy (which says alot, because I usually dislike coleslaw!). Have virtually no criticisms and for £6, it's very well worth it. Definitely my new go-to for a delightful meal.

Stopped by for lunch having heard about B&B and had quite high expectations. Expectations were completely surpassed. I had the slow cooked beef short rib on tarragon chips, was so good, would thoroughly recommend.

Visiting Edinburgh during the Festival, we came across this Police Box Eatery behind John Lewis. I chose Crab and Tarragon Chips as I was not used to a crab option at home in Gloucester. It was fantastic! Thank you I will be back for more.

Before heading to the Playhouse, me and 2 friends were looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat and stumbled across this place by accident- we were very lucky that we did! I ordered the lemon crab, multigrain and rocket salad and we shared some of the Beef Hash special and both were divine! Excellent flavours, with a perfect balance of rich but fresh- it felt indulgent but healthy. Such an unexpected treat! Additionally, following the chef's recommendation we popped to collect a bottle of wine from a nearby shop to enjoy with our meal while our food was being prepared. Plastic (but nice!) wine glasses were provided and he happily kept our wine chilled in the fridge while we sat and enjoyed our TOO YUMMY dinners with some fun background music. Have been back twice since (once for the Sunday brunch special and once with work colleagues for a Friday lunch spoil). Since finding it, I can't get enough of this place and am already craving my next visit...

This is a must visit when your in Edinburgh. Just outside John Lewis across from the Omni centre at the top of Leith Walk in an old police box. I had a Pork Knuckle and Scallop Roll (Pictured) which was just awesome, great flavours. Can't wait to visit again, actually I'll probably go out of my way to visit here for a quick bite tomorrow.

Charming staff, great ambiance and really wonderful food. We had a great evening here on the first night of holiday to Edinburgh, so much so, we returned for another excellent meal on the Sunday. Cadiz is definitely on our list for our next trip to Edinburgh and highly recommended.

My partner and I visited The Pepperpot with a couple of family members for Sunday lunch. We took advantage of the three-course set lunch (priced at £20.95) which had a good choice of roast meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes included

Gutted because this was my favourite chippy in Edinburgh but it appears to have closed. Cannot find a listing for it anymore on JustEat etc and was shut last time I went past.

Dear Fishers! I visited your restaurant recently and overall, I was really happy: the view is amazing, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is not bad! But there’s a little detail I just have to mention: napkins. Yes, those! One napkin per person – I get the minimalism, but once I used my napkin, my cutlery ended up… on the table. I hope it was clean because that was a bit unexpected! Another small thing – the dirty dishes stayed on the table for quite a while, even as I continued chatting with my guests. Perhaps your staff simply enjoyed listening to our conversation in a language other than English and chose not to interrupt – if that's the case, thank you for that! :) Overall, everything was awesome! But I still couldn’t quite figure out – are you a bistro or a restaurant? Online, you're listed as a restaurant, but your emails say bistro. Best regards, your happy (and slightly surprised) guest.
