Very good chinease food and great fish and chips.

Plastic plates not acceptable for the prices they charge used to have those at school for dinner they need to pick up the swan and duck mess aswell as not having their tables inclined because my plate kept on sliding down it no brollys out on the tables sap was falling on to my hand from the trees more food on the plate would be nice considering I payed £10 and hot drinks way to small for the price but other than that egg was nice

Popped in for a snack with a student, so needed a VAT receipt. Asked if they did them, to get a fairly rude response of no, back. Then I said an itemised receipt would be fine. After a mistake they then made at the till, they struggled to get me a receipt. The lady who served us was so rude asking why I should need an itemised receipt for just chips. She said she couldn’t fix the problem as the staff member who works on the till had already gone home, and “what did she want me to do about it?!!” To make things worse, she was the owner! Very rude. Will not be returning.

Absolutely disgusting! 2 potions of calamari and a portion of chips ended up in the bin immediately. All I felt was salt and thick rock batter! Total waste of money! But I guess in a crowded street and a beach next to it, it will always survive. Never again.

Lovely people, but me and my partner got very bad food poisoning from a mixed kebab last night

Extremely bad customer service, and the chips are not fresh and when you complain about it the staff they start to argue and shout at you. There is one man that is very aggressive to women, therefore I will never go there again.

Lovely team that were so friendly and really great fish and chips. Proper chippy chips with a huge juicy fish and crispy batter.

This is the only sit-down fish restaurant i know of in the area, and it is unfailingly THE BEST!! You may have your fish cooked any way you wish, and the chips are magnificent!!

Food was hot and delivered quickly!

Food takes longer to be ready. Atmosphere note very friendly and no single chair to sit or at least rest.

Easter Sunday lunch. We have lived in the area several years now and have tried the pub a few times. The positives are they have a lovely open fire place and sell local ales which is lovely to sit in front of with a pint. The staff are friendly and welcoming on the whole. Been a few times for normal lunch (burger and fries) and has generally been ok. We booked for Easter Sunday lunch. Aware the pub has now been bought by a group that own several other pubs so think the number calls through to a central location. Took a week of calling through each day to eventually be able to book. Expected it to be busy but it was only us and a few other tables having sit down meals. Starters were nice, although took a while to arrive. We ordered 1 chicken and 3 beef for our main meals. £25 per head for 2 courses. Chicken was ok, although when we asked for more gravy we were told there was no more (booked for 3:15). The beef (sold as Herefordshire beef) was completely inedible, really odd powdery texture, tough, really hard to cut and, far too chewy. Potatoes were described as cooked in duck fat. They were also tough to cut through, dried out as if they had been reheated a number of times. The chicken came with stuffing which was claggy and tasteless. Rest of the vegetables were ok. None of the party that ate the beef had more than several bites and then informed the waitress it was completely inedible. She apologised and took the plates away. We ordered another round of drinks and one of the party had a dessert which was nice. On leaving we asked for the bill and the waitress asked if our meal was ok (the same waitress we informed our meal was pretty much inedible), apart from our main?! She did tell us that she had informed the chef that we were not happy with our meal and that he had apologised. Unfortunately this didn’t come across as very genuine given she had her back to us when passing on this apology. We were then initially over charged for our meal (charged us for 3 courses each) and had to scrutinise the bill further before paying. Overall the experience was very poor. We weren’t looking for reductions or freebies. We were honest and upfront about the poor quality of our food without causing a fuss or deliberate embarrassment to the pub. We felt like we were treated with contempt by the place. Not a genuine apology, no chef or management that had the thought or care to come and either find out more about what was wrong or apologise in person. It’s a shame for the business most of all though because had that of happened this public review probably wouldn’t have needed to be written. Bill paid in full (over £150) for substandard meals and a few drinks for 4. Go elsewhere, plenty of nice pubs nearby with quality food.

The experience was okay, but it didn’t quite hit the mark this time. Everything was there, but something just felt a bit off. Hoping for a stronger showing next time.

Went there for lunch & it was dog friendly. Pricing very good &spacious. Across the way from the promenade. Great fish & chips

we both ordered cod with meal, we got one cod one haddock. my better half did not want to moan, because they were busy. not good value for what we got. my fish was five inches long , not many chips. we know prices have gone up due to cost. i did measure fish because we had tape due to just buying some furniture.
