Kingston Fisheries in East Riding of Yorkshire

Wow, just wow. I've only ever found 1 other chip shop that does the curry sauce they serve here. I'm a sucker for loads of chip shop curry and everything else was spot on too.

Kingston Fisheries is a traditional fish and chip shop. The fish is cooked fresh to order, and there is a good selection of sausages spam patties, etc. The patties are nice, and the batter is lovely. Although I prefer more herbs, they are cheaper than any of the other chip shops I have been to recently. The staff are very friendly and the place is very clean. There is no seating it is takeaway only.

Worst fish and chips ever. Fish was tasteless as was the chips, pattie was dry and tasteless £20.10p wasted. Even the dogs didn't like it

Apparently this is a medium (no large option) chips, can only be described as the visual representation of depression. Honestly though this place has been going downhill for a while, I'll pop elsewhere from now on

Last visit 7.30 PM. A few chips and a sausage was all that was on offer. Didn't want to cook anything for us. Obviously making too much money to have to look after the regulars. Went round the corner to anlaby still in full swing with a long queue. Last visit for a long time.

Been going here a long time but it has changed since Paul left. The chips taste & look greasy. The gravy is thick enough to stand a spoon in. And the service from 1 person in particular is non existence she is rude & no manners. False nails & nail varnish shud not be allowed serving food. Don't waste your money people go elsewere

We had the home delivery service, ordered at 2pm for 5pm delivery. 2 Haddock specials with add ons. The service was exactly on time. It was delivered hot ready to serve to the table. The portions were amazing, perfectly cooked and really 10 out of 10 in all areas. Portions, price, delivery. Well done and thank you.

Service with a grimace. Food was ok but the attitude of the server was awful. Not a smile, not a thankyou. Miserable.

Used to be good,not on this occasion.Prices have gone up and quality has gone down.Chips tasted like they've been hanging around a while, small thin fish. Shop is dingy and scruffy looking, won't be back anytime soon.

Just ordered from there and cod freshly cooked at over £7 should be good but got home to find it was over cooked with browning on the fish and dry as sticks so will never return. It used to be good years ago but not any more

Waited half hour for food as while I was waiting someone walked in and they gave them part of my order so had to wait until it was re -fried..shambles..give it a miss for a while

I've been using Kingston Fisheries for a few years now and have always enjoyed the food and the service. Sadly over the course of the last 6 months, something has changed. The service is hit and miss, the food is also not as good as it once was. I recently popped in for a family tea, couple of fish special and a sausage special. We probably threw half the chips away due to them being those sharp over cooked chips that just aren't pleasant to eat even more so if you're a 3 year old boy like my lad. The fish was OK on my recent visit but when half the order was bin worthy its not value for money. Lastly service, a smile wouldn't be too much to ask, there were 5 ladies working in there the last time I visited and it wasn't a very welcoming atmosphere. Not great value for money, but the fish was decent, prices have increased and portions are smaller.

Good quality chippy good price would highly recommend

Didn't enjoy my last visit. Staff were surly. Small "Haddock" tasted like Basa. Portions are getting smaller as the price is going up. I'll be going somewhere else next time. Sadly.

Takeaway open till 8pm but at 7:35pm they refused to fry fish and said only sausage or pattie available! Very disappointed with 25 minutes before closing and not wanting to serve or fry fish, so they did not get our custom. Can’t understand how they didn’t want the custom, they didn’t even ask how many fish we wanted! So we took our custom else where!

My Wife was served by a really RUDE blond haired Woman maybe about 50 ish or more. She was not only rude to my Wife but wasn't helpful to a young girl who seemed new to the job. All this in front of other customers. Food was OK but we won't be back while she's there

Lovely fish and chips been a long time since I was last here brought back lots of fond memories of coming for fish with grandparents.

Good quality and quantity fish and chips, although we were missing a battered sausage and got one beef and one chicken pie instead of 2 chicken and no scraps. It was 5.30pm so maybe a busy day! Had the order not been a little wrong it would be 5 stars. Just double check your order before leaving.

Just went on for large fish special women server said I was banned last week. I've been coming to this place for years for mam n dad and never ever have I abused anyone I think she's on drugs or something Jesus I only wanted fish n chips

Quality food, good service and value for money. You can't ask for more.

Owner (or who I presume to be the owner) behind the fryer is miserable. Shouting at the girl serving also. They had ran out of almost everything. I had a big order with two large chips, but because they had forgotten to hold back another small chips, they gave us one large and another considerably smaller (even though we paid for two large). They then totally forgot to put in the two battered sausages we ordered and paid for. So for an expensive meal for four, we didn’t end up with much food at all... the owner sounded like he didn’t want to be there, and I can’t imagine the staff like to work for him. Avoid at all costs.

Poor quality chips, dreadful curry sauce. I asked for scraps as I was been served and the server forgot them and I was the only one in the shop. The server looked dirty, touched her hair and this is not a good sign of food hygiene. On a positive note the battered sausage was cooked fresh and was good. Wont be back there

When we go into Kingston fisheries, we always order skinned haddock, we don't mind the wait at all at least it is nice and hot along with chips and peas and of course salt and vinegar, there food is always excellent quality, and always excellent service, and nothing is too much for the fryer, so I would highly recommend Kingston fisheries, this is the best fish shop in this area

First visit and last . Not because of the quality or .. ? Quantity of food , never got that far . Owner i presume is the fish fryer in the back , bad attitude , Ordered a Large haddock Special, bit of a difficulty understanding the difference between asking for “ Peas” . Which were included. Was offered Beans , when clarified “” Peas”” . Utensils thrown .. . To conclude the order , asked for a Medium Haddock with chips and sausage . Ok money taken £16.45 . Wow , expensive . Ready to collect , to be told no medium haddock , would i accept two small haddock for the same price ,, yes go on then , been stood here long enough , may as well.. ready for the final collection .... No chips ready can i wait another 5 minutes .. Its not Rocket Science fry fish and chips for customers who then pay and leave. ....Money refunded and leave .. and to add 3 customers entered the shop whilst i was stood on my own and got served and left before i decided to leave . ..POOR ,

Last minute decision to have a take away fish and chips. Quite busy but it was Friday evening so fish and chips were more or less cooked to order. Yummy

Ordered a number of different items from here. Wanted a skinned haddock and they were only too willing to oblige (just make sure you let them know). The service was friendly but the prices are on the rise. They don’t take card payments either. The chips were lovely and not too greasy. The pattie and the sausages were yummy. Well recommended.

Spam Deluxe is fab, battered with cheese inside, just add a bit of French mustard on it & sum tomato sauce, delicious! Big size too and under £2 for a big meaty burger, better then many gourmet burgers!

Just fancied large haddock, chips and curry one dinner time, and the assistant pointed out the special offer which was cheaper, with an extra choice of sausage or pattie included. Had a little wait, but it was worth it. It was delicious and hot, and the curry was lovely. Won’t leave it so long next time

Poor quality food and very expensive. We used to go here regularly and the quality has gone down. There are better fish and chips available in Anlaby and Willerby.

Lovely chips tonight. Also ordered a large skinned haddock and it was huge and very tasty. The Pattie and sausages were also excellent. I don’t know if this place has changed its supplier but it has certainly got better over the past year. Service was also excellent too! Well done.

Stop for a bag of chips on a Thursday at about 10pm, was surprised to find they were in the process of getting ready to close. Got the last of the chips, good job we did not want anything else.

Visited this shop last week and purchased a small sausage & chips, on taking a bite of the sausage the taste wasn’t very nice and having looked closer it was found to have what looked like black bits mixed in the batter (see pic above)... so I took it back and told the girl who served me it didn’t taste rite and asked what all the black bits where, to which the fryer piped up and said there fine mate it’s just the bits out the bottom of the pan there cooked in (really how dirty are there pans)...so not been happy with the response I said again well it doesn’t taste good expecting a simple replacement or offer of something different...not a chance fryer and the girl serving just repeated na there fine then proceed to tell me about his mate in the back who’d just eaten one and his was fine...so again I told him I’m unable to eat this and added that I’ll have to put it in the bin outside to which the same response came, After asking more than 3 times and been told I was wrong I left putting my lunch in the bin outside and vowing never to use this shop again..such a shame for what was a simple fix..

This has always been an ok chippy but has seen some recent investment. Menu choice is good. As in any chippy I always ask for any fish to be cooked whilst I wait. Portions of chips are usually generous. Staff polite and helpful.

As a life long fan of fish and chips and a proud resident of Hull I have experimented extensively with different chip shops. This one was nearest to my parents house and so we always went there as kids. Now I live some way away and as much as I like to support the shops in my local area I now drive past several chip shops to get to this one. The fish is always done fresh the chips aren't greasy and they taste just how good fish and chips should. You can buy cheaper in other fish shops but the prices are still very reasonable and the quality and consistency is the best around.

If clean friendly speedy service together with high quality fish & chips to take away suits? Then call in with confidence for great value. In the 10-years I have lived in Hull there are 5 or 6 of the best 'chippies' you will enjoy anywhere and this chippy is in the top two.

Best curry sauce ever in the country! Fish absolutely perfectly crispy!

We entered the shop and we were greeted with "What do you want"' and it was with an attitude that was so rude; it was like serving us was a real chore. No smiles or friendly words in there at all. This has happened on multiple occasions and the staff spoke to us as if we were stupid when we asked for something off the menu but they didn't have it in stock.

As a take-away the fish and chips here are above average but unfortunately it can vary and we have occasionally had poor meals as well as good ones. No-where near as good as East Park Chippy.

Chips are never crispy; always chunky & pale in colour. Fish is pretty good but can't taste any seasoning in the batter. We've only been here because it's near to our home. We've started to travel to Frydays in Anlaby- it's worth it.

This is a good fish and chip shop. Good quality fish and nice chips, not greasy at all. Prices are about average for the area.

Patatas fritas, salchichas, empanadas pedimos desde aquí la semana pasada. Las patatas fritas eran muy bien, hasta el punto de que mi hijo dijo, "Papá, por qué mis patatas fritas?" La salchicha quemada sabía muy bien y la salchicha, estaba bien.

Pretty average, certainly nowhere near the worst.Called when usual outlets were closed. Prices were average

algo de pescado y patatas fritas encantadora cafetería, siempre muy sabroso y no demasiado grasienta. Siempre nos dieron buenas ofertas en lo que puede ser bueno si tienes un presupuesto. Lo recomiendo sin duda.

Varies from good to poor - just not consistent. Shpuld take advice from East Park fisheries which is always good.Seems to depend on the fryer and is more expensive than others.
