This is our 2nd visit to this lovely little seaside chippy We ordered our lunchtime favourite of " CHIPS GRAVY & BATTER SCRAPS " as usual we really enjoyed the food experience, it is a lovely chippy right by the harbour and staff prices and food are just great value, thank you again

My partner Brian and I holiday in Bridlington twice a year, and always call at the Deep Blue several times during each visit. Their fish is amazing, huge portions of light, flaky haddock with crispy batter, cooked to perfection. We are both on mobility scooters, and on our last visit, Kayleigh couldn’t do enough to help us, even bringing the food to our table and ensuring that we were sheltered underneath an awning when the Heavens opened. We recommend that you eat at the tables provided rather than on the harbour wall opposite, though, as if you choose the latter and don’t know what a herring gull looks like, you will soon find out😂

Went to bridlington for a day trip before heading back home. We called at the harbour and bought fish n chips and sat outside. Very nice fish n chips would go again.

Good food and Good prices Recommend the Gravy it was very nice ,also friendly staff great service ,Bridlington looks a lot better.

I dont know where to start.The staff are very rude,have no customer service skills at all.They atcually own all 5 buisness in the row. The hygiene is discusting.no gloves used, dirty work tops and floors. Hair all over the place, not tied back. Using Bare hands to handle foods and equipment. The food is OK. The fish is dry and chewy! A member of staff aproched my family (2x Autistic children) because we bought the fish from next door but bought the rest from them we have to move from there tables.This was done very unprofessionally with staff laughing and chatting about us as we left. Would deffonatly not go there again and would advise others to thing Wisley. Staff seen using the public toliets and leaving not washing there hands !!! When I aproched the manager about this he said "They don't have to wash there hands they can wash them when they get here" Discusting ! Improvement to hygiene and customer service needed!! Save your money go else where. looking at the reviews on here I'm not the only one .

Fish cooked to long dry or cooked earlier and warmed up

There's overwhelming choice for chippies in Brid, but we were lucky enough to pick a good one. Portions are well sized and priced. The fish was delicious. Burgers also available. With our purchase, we were given ice cream and doughnut discount, two doors down.

The fish was covered in very greasy batter . Not impressed at all as the fish inside wasn't all that nice either . Won't be going again . Avoid and go elsewhere

Went with my family to Bridlington- a place we absolutely love. The kids were hungry so we got them some nuggets and chips from here. If you don't want the chips, tough, they'll still charge you the same price for the nuggets alone. The chips we did get were hard, dry and nasty. Obviously been warmed up from some time earlier in the day. Or maybe last week going on the texture. Pretty much all the very over priced food from here went in the bin, as it was inedible. Staff weren't particularly nice either. Avoid like the plague, Brid has so many more amazing chippies, and this definitely isn't one of them.

Having spoke to the fryer he told us it is neither Haddock nor Cod, it’s Hake! I see by another review posted which states the fish was so thin it could not have been Haddock or Cod. He was correct. Hence why we checked with them. Come on, this is Bridlington….Haddock should be first on the menu, not an alternative like pubs serve!

Called in got fish n chips which was nice really enjoyed them with curry sauce .staff was nice n polite shop nice n clean .Will deffo call again ...

Amazing fish and chips, best in brid!

Me and my friend ordered the £6 mini fish fillet meal. My friend got a scraggy half fish tail end and I had half a fish. Not impressed. We were expecting a proper fully battered small fish fillet, not one cut in half. Its disgusting. The chips were dry as hell and I had to have so much vinegar to give them taste. A Can of tango was a conning £1.50p and not even cold. I'll never eat from here again, absolute load of tosh!!

Food was horrendous,batter was so thick and burnt and the fish was so thin,hardly any fish at all.batter was about an inch thick yet the fish was non existent. I’ve been in fish and chips for 11 years and I’d be ashamed to serve and fry this to customers.

I really can't understand how Deep Blue Fisheries get any 5 star reviews. I had fish and chips and must say they rank as the worst I have ever eaten and I have eaten a lot of fish and chips in my 64 years. A seaside resort like Brid should have fresh fish served in all chippys but this was frozen, and not even good frozen. The fish went in the bin along with half the chips, Never again.

I always get my fish and chips at deep blue in bridlington but last sunday 14th april i got 3 fish and chips which looked big, sat down on the tables and the fish was full off batter to make them look big, the fish was so thin it cant of been cod or haddock, that cost me £25.50 i should of complained, never again i will be trying others now

Think the fish and chips we had must have been 24 hours old fish was disgusting chips mostly scraps didn’t even look fresh disgraceful

Ordered regular fish and chips and fish with pea for lunch around 12:30. The organisation was terrible, nothing on the hot counter waiting so had to wait around 10mins with a dozen other people. When getting to eat the fish it was disgusting! watery under cooked fish, batter was under cooked on the inside and still sloppy. The fish was small and thin on the inside, not what I expect from a well established fish and chip shop in Bridlington. This is by far the worse fish I have ever had and tasted. I ended up throwing the full lot; at least the seagulls got fed plenty. The big review placard outside with several reviews on, promoting how good their fish and chips are I can't seem to find on here! I suspect they are fake. Please see photo of the fish!

Boxing Day visit to Bridlington. Traditional it’s fish and chips on the east coast so with so few takeouts - or sit outside open we opted here. Located on the north harbour frontage walkway we ordered up 2x fish and chips plus teas £20. Fair to say it was busy, we ate out here small tabes and chairs provided. Personally I’d say I’ve had better fish … the chips were like we wanted them browned up. I’m giving this a middle of the road review, the fish could of been more appetising, otherwise ok

Only chips purchased, tasty and good quality but a bit pricey for a small portion. Definitely recommend if in town.

Went to Deep Blue Fisheries 05/08/23 looking forward to fish n chips for lunch after reading some good reviews. Well what a let down, the fish was terrible, it was dry discoloured tough and tasteless. The chips were good as was the service but chips finished up in the bin with the fish. I really do not like leaving negative reviews in fact most of my reviews are positive, credit where its due etc, but £8.50 for poor quality. May I suggest sourcing good quality fresh fish and put your price up, having myself worked in the fishing industry for many years (Grimsby) People are prepared to pay for quality fish. I notice also that you have not had a review since August last year, sorry I have to be your first negative of 2023.

WoW that's all I can say I'm happy to slag bad food places off but this is definitely not 1 of them . Went last weekend got fish 🐟 chips peas and this is my honesty review best IV had in 20 years I was shocked I wanted to go back for seconds but thought it was a bit greddy deep blue 5 stars and thank you

Lovely Fish and Chips. Only got the small amount of them. But it was enough for me. But very tasty 😋. Even our little Dog enjoyed a few bits of my Fish. Great Chippy.

Had some fish, the fish didn’t smell fresh in places, the coffee was totally useless waste of £3 for two, had to bin it,

I tried this new place on my recent visit and I was hopeful, but sadly I was disappointed. The fish was thin and tasteless, the ketchup was a cheap sauce, the chips were just ok. It was over priced for me and I felt like I had wasted my money, which put a downer on the whole meal. I sadly won't be a customer again no. Note for the owner: maybe look to make some improvements. But I would not recommend, but then I like quality fish and chips myself and if your not fussy then go ahead and give it try yourself.

Needs a healthy dose of customer service. Asked counter staff for portion of scampi - all OK. But no - then shouted across that it has to be with chips or nothing at all.

Must have caught them on a bad day looking at some of the other reviews. We had quite a wait after our order and when our fish finally arrived ,it was over cooked. More batter than fish. Chips were ok. Staff were quite rude and unhelpful. Ive visited many other chippies in Brid and this is the worst. Won't be calling again. Hope other visitors have a better experience than we did.

Hot drinks only luke warm, soggy chips and extremely rude staff and confrontational, asked us to move off their dirty tables for not being customers when we had clearly got our food from them, stay away!!

We decided to have fish and chips and these were the absolute best. Crispy fish, chips cooked to perfection and the curry sauce was delicious. The staff are amazingly friendly, got coffee next door and they even filled the bucket up with fresh water for the dogs.

Visited with friends as it had been recommended to us absolutely wonderful fish and chips staff courteous and helpful totally delicious can highly recommend definitely the best fish and chips I’ve had!!!!

Visited here on Wednesday 3 August 2022. Whilst waiting to order, watched the assistant using the Til and then move straight to wrap peoples orders. No hand washing in between, if this wasn’t bad enough, her fingernails were FILTHY - dirt under every nail - her hands left a lot to be desired also, dirt ingrained into the skin. She had one bright green false nail on her right thumb - one might questions where the remaining 9 false nails in the set were - possibly in some poor unsuspecting customers food! When I pointed my concerns to the person she was actually shocked that there was an expectation she should wash her hands before handling foods and wasn’t remotely phased that her hands were filthy. She turned to one of the ‘cooks’ in the background ( as he was putting FROZEN chips into the fryer) laughed and said ‘can you believe this, she expects me to wash my hands between taking money and serving food!’ Then when I reminded her of basic food hygiene and the importance of hand washing to prevent contamination, she looked at me and said ‘ it’s busy, I haven’t got time for that!!’ No apron , no gloves, no hairnet , no basic hand hygiene, or understanding of hygiene / food hygiene awareness in general. I asked to speak to the owner , a female came to me and claimed to be the owner but refused to give me her name. I explained my concerns and again, these were dismissed , with this ‘owner’ stating that it ‘was a busy day and they were hot’ I again reiterated my concerns about basic hand hygiene not being followed and the response was ‘ well we do have hand sanitiser ( although none visible jn the immediate area) but we don’t need to use it as Covid is over !!! Even when I told her that I would report to environmental health , she challenged me and said ‘do it , I’ve got a 4 star rating no one else has an issue ( although google reviews I have since read would suggest otherwise ) when I asked her where this was displayed , she actually laughed at me, asked me where I was from and told me to go away! Again refusing to give me her or the owners details to allow me to locate them on companies house / and the local council website for food hygiene. On further searches the address for this establishment appears to be linked to the businesses either side of that property - Wendy’s burgers and Wendy’s donuts. The last time I can find an inspection report was 2018 and this was a 3. Star not 4 as the female ( who I now believe to be ‘Wendy’) claimed. She then accused me of being rude and confrontational, despite her being the one raising her voice at me - then told me the only reason I was ‘upset’ ( which I wasn’t), was because her staff member ( server with the one false nail) had ‘shouted at me’. With this in mind , and the fact this female claimed to be the owner, one would not expect it to be the norm for staff to shout at customers or for this to be considered acceptable. If you choose to eat here, then be it at your peril good luck to your stomachs and get your battle shield ready if you need to complain! To be clear , we didn’t eat here .

Very disappointed fish over cooked and over battered vinegar watererd down and taste less witnessed the young girls handling fresh food and cash without washing hands poor hygiene no lid on bin in food prep area couldn't see hygiene rating from local council which should be displayed. Even the seagulls would have been disappointed with the fish and chips won't be going back again .

Beautiful fish and chips served by a very lovely and cheerful young lady called Lauren With a smile that lit up the harbour. I would recommend this fish and chip shop over any in Bridlington or surrounding area. Hopefully will see the lovely manager and gorgeous counter girl again soon. 10/10. ( try the fish bites )

We enjoyed fabulous Fish and Chips in Bridlington today and was served by a lovely lady called Wendy, who found us a table and made us feel very welcome . We would definitely recommend them and will absolutely be going back again soon.

Got to say worst fish I've ever had!!!,Batter soggy and greasy,my husband had chips and peas,the portion was for a child.The staff were quite rude, lost my order and snapped when I asked about it!!! Qne to avoid!!

Every time we visit bridlington our main aim is for this chip shop. The best fish and chips I know. Don't think anyone can beat them on taste and value. My favourite chip shop by far. Makes my trips to bridlington just perfect.

Lovely friendly staff on a hot busy day staff was very helpful. The quality of food was amazing ordered 2 fish and chips and mushy peas and sausage and chips for kids was very surprised with how big the fish was at a reasonable price too just on small issue would have been nice to pay by card. But other than that I be back again.

Lady who served was lovely and went out of her way to help. Massive portion of fish and chips (as good as Whitby). Gave huge cup of curry sauce and lots of vouchers for cafe next door. Seating area available away from Seagulls! Will be back!

I visited Bridlington with my family and friends on Tuesday, we stopped by Wendy’s fish and chip shop down the harbour on our walk. We were served by a young girl with brown hair and glasses, and what a customer service we received, she had the best service I had ever came across in Bridlington, very polite, offered us advantage cards and even offered to take our food to the table as she could see me and my wife had poor mobility, she helped us find a table outside the shop and ensured we were well looked after. For the food we all had fish and chips and my they was beautiful, the fish was cooked perfectly and we left as a very happy family. On our way out we thanked the girl directly and appreciated how kind she had been to us, we tipped her a pound and we will be making a promising return, we wouldn’t go anywhere else now. I hope this review gets back to her and well done to all at WENDYS.

Always use this place while in bridlington, unfortunately I won't be using again, the food is nice enough however the girl who served us had terrible customer service, she was very rude and actually made one of my family members cry. I understand that sometimes customers are annoying but we politely asked for a fish that was missing.the sign said skinless and boneless fish, however when an elderly women asked if the fish was skinless and boneless she was told no. With how rude the girl was I definitely would not be returning. Quite disappointing as normally you can't fault the place

Stopped here during the holidays. Great fish and chips, lovely battered sausages and mushy peas too. Their prices were reasonable and Covid procedures were great too.The staff and their service made this a great place to visit. We ate the food on benches overlooking the harbour. A well recommended chippy.

We wandered Bridlington looking for fish and chips with no local knowledge at all. We passed a few places but for some reason Deep Blue Fisheries seemed like a good choice. We were not disappointed. Fresh well cooked large portions of fish that were not too greasy together with a decent amount of chips that were very fine. For personal preference the chips could have had another couple of minutes frying but that would be a bit picky. Highly recommended.

Best fish & Chips I have ever tasted. Fish was perfectly cooked batter was chrispy and not greasy & chips were spot on all very competitively priced with friendly staff. Top plaice.

Stopped here for fish and chips after an hour crabbing. We caught twelve crabs, three shrimps and a fish. We actually beat my sister in laws record of eleven crabs and she’s never caught a shrimp, let alone three. The fish and chips were all cooked fresh and were delicious. Nice to sit outside and watch the world go by. Definitely recommend.

Went for a day out on Friday the 13th, well what a fantastic place to visit, clean and tidy place with lots of fantastic views but the fish and chips from here were divine, batter wasnt greasy nor were the chips chunky and cooked to perfection fresh fish as well not frozen was superb.

We must have visited on a bad day. The chips were the whitest they could be without being raw - although interestingly there were about four brown ones! probably the worst I'd had. Husband's fish wasn't the freshest. Like I say probably just a bad day.

The best fish and chip shop in Bridlington. The fish is fresh and the batter is crispy ... I have worked in chip shops for years so I know how I like my fish and deep blue cook it perfectly. And the chips are the perfect colour. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the coffee shop next door is brilliant also

We visited this chip shop on a very busy weekend in the hope for some good food. We stumbled upon Deep Blue Fisheries on the harbour.

We decided to make use of the good weather today and took off to the Coast,albeit it reluctantly because of the Heavy Traffic,However we diverted off from the Main congested route, and found a more suitable way to get to the Seaside Resort of Bridlington. After eventually finding a Parking Spot near the South Beach area we headed towards the Harbour Front and strolled along the Shops.Having noticed an Ambundance of Seating available around the Area,we chose to have some Fish & Chips from the Deep Blue Fish Shop along the Harbour,where we got them in a Box,and took off towards the Seats.All quite reasonably priced at £5.99 and £6.99 with Mushy Peas.You can also have Mini Fish & Chips for around £3.50 and all cooked fresh to order and are nice and Hot, all of which are of very good value.Having the both of us now to be careful of what we eat because of Health Reasons,these were our little Treat and a bit of a one off, yet Tasty non the less.A Good Popular Seaside Fish and Chip Shop that really is well worth a Visit,and considering its in Resort,all at a Price that wont break the Bank.

Once again great food from this place. I’ve visited deep blue fisheries a number of times as me and my partner live in York we like to come over on a weekend. We came 22nd October and the young woman on the till had nothing but a smile on her face. Fabulous service and gave me and My partner anything we asked for. The best customer service I’ve seen for a very long time considering she looked quite young. Chips were nice and fresh as well as the fish, although the fish was slightly smaller than usual. I must say be careful of the gulls they prey on your food!!!!

Beautiful sunshine ,sat outside deep blue fisheries , served by a lovely lady couldn’t do enough for us , waited for our freshly cooked fish . Crispy batter well cooked plenty of of chips and excellent value for money .

Me and my wife ordered 2 fish and chips and asked for teas which the young women replied with a voucher for the coffee place next door. The meal it’s self was very nice, golden crispy batter with huge chunks of fish. To top my experience off the waitress was very polite and friendly, she was chatting away whilst we was enjoying our meals and was telling me about her 3 years of working down there. The chef seamed very polite. The prices are very reasonable as I remember they are the cheapest on the harbour. I will be returning for great food again.

We called in for fish and chips on a quiet Thursday evening.I noticed a young looking man doing the frying.We ordered and after a short wait we were given our fish and chips.As I was putting the salt and vinegar on,I thought the batter looked quite dark and thick.We covered our food and went to find a spot to sit nearby.On trying to put the plastic fork into the batter, the fork just bent and the batter refused to budge!We ditched the forks and used our hands instead. We ate the fish as you would an ice cream cornet! In the end we both gave up and put both meals in the bin. Based on this one evening, avoid!

We really Enjoyed our Fish & Chips, Value for Money, Large Portions, The Batter was light and Crispy, The Fish was lovely & Chips Too. The Staff Friendly, Polite & Promt. We Sat outside the Fisheries which is situated by the Harbour, The Rather Large Seagulls didn't bother us But anyone with a Bird Phobia they might well do! 2 People whilst we were sat there had seagull droppings on them But you could always walk up some stairs to the side of the Fisheries & sit a bit higher up, A Way from a lot of the birds, for that reason I rated a 4. Well Worth a visit, Highly recommended. We would go there Again.

Really disappointed, live nearby so use Brid harbour for fish and chips a lot, normally use another place but gave these a try last week and they were very good. However went yesterday whine it was really busy and the fish was so small that by the time the batter was cooked the fish was over cooked and chewy. Seems they use busy days to get rid of the rubbish so be warned! The chips were ok hence 2 stars not 1.

Deep Blue Fisheries is a nice place for a quick meal. The fish and chips are nice and you can’t beat the location. You can sit and enjoy your food while taking in the beautiful harbour scenery.

Fabulous fish and chips never disappoints . Good service crispy batter and piping hot chips . And the curry sauce is wonderful.

You can't rely on the British weather and you can't always be sure what you will get when you order fish and chips due to the number, quality and variety of establishments, fish and batters.

Wir kamen durchgefroren und hungrig von einem Ausflug und aßen hier kurz vor Feierabend, die Pommes waren labbrig aber der Fisch war ohne die Kruste sehr saftig und lecker.

Not much open on the harbourside on a damp Sunday afternoon in early January - this and the one next door. Chose this one as were offering good old fashioned food and it was excellent in both the value and the flavour stakes!
