This is a cracking takeaway in Duffryn,just off the J28 M4 nr Newport. Situated within a stones throw of the historic Tredegar House we have driven out of our way to go here. The food is fresh, piping hot and very tasty! Although the shopping area the takeaway is in is rather tired and run down - driving there it looks like a dead end from the main road, don’t be put off; it’s worth it!

Only opens 1.00 until 1.05 lol summer lane at wombwell is beautiful and cheap defo try there if your thinking of anywherw

Really tasty, well cooked and not at all greasy. Best fish and ships by far. Nice people , friendly and helpful.

Chippy!!! They have one job to cook chips! Failed miserably. Undercooked chips and a soggy battered sausage. I turned up at 12:40 ish. No one else in there and they had a poor selection of ready items ( few pies and about 4 battered sausages) no spam fritters. If a chippy can’t cook chips then close your doors.

Best fish supper i have had in ages . Loads, great big portion of chips and fish cooked to perfection. My partner had the homemade macaroni 😋 delicious. The staff were so friendly and very helpful . Highly recommend

Brought my first meal from this shop, arrived in my hands in two mins after and considering i ordered £20 worth could instantly tell something was up it which was my first red flag as was just heated. Could tell something was wrong. This followed by weird attmosphere After returning home to digest the meal something did not seem right as the vegtables in the meal were not cut properly and seemed un cooked. Within 30 mins of eating what i could iwas violantly sick my body regected the entirety of the food. Would not suggest this place.

I wanted to treat the kids to fish and chips after school today and what a disapointment. Had to throw the whole lot away. Waited 10 mins for them to cook the fish (which I thought would be a good sign as fresh) but the batter was soggy and the fish was powdery. Chips old and cold and no salt, as we'd asked for. Just dreadful. What a waste of £23.

Was charged £4 for 2 bread rolls(bap) with butter on. When checked other chip shops average price is about 75p. Disgusting need reporting to fair trading standards

Absolutely lovely service from the two gentlemen. Welcoming, efficient and friendly. Fish was delicious and freshly prepared and chips were good too!

Teníamos vegetarianos, pescadores y comedores de carne en el grupo y todos tenían algo que realmente disfrutaban. El servicio fue genial, muy amable y nos alojamos bastante tarde, así que estuvimos muy atentos hasta el final! El ambiente es genial, es un lugar encantador para comer en grupo. Lo recomendaría a fondo.

We attended Barrafina on Adelaide street this week. The host was lovely and showed us to our table. We had a baby with us who was asleep and he helped us downstairs. The host double checked our requirements as Pescaterian. Our waiter on the hand, was rude from the get go with attitude. He didn’t have a pen with him when he took our order and when he tried to recall our order, he got it wrong twice but didn’t seem to like it when we corrected him. I have no idea what we did to insult him to get all that attitude. He confirmed that we were pescatarian but still brought us sauces with chicken stock and then proceeded to tell us that that sauce had chicken stock to our amazement. When we tried to call him back to remove this said sauce, he completely ignored us. Once he decided he was ready to serve us, we had a back and fourth and he didn’t want to remove this said sauce. Then he ignored us again when we tried to ask for water. The space was not that large or noisy for him not to hear us. The worst part was that he was serving the other customers with a huge smile. I gritted my teeth and didn’t want to make a fuss in front of the little one however this was infuriating. This place is not cheap and to be treated like trash was really upsetting. I’m actually angry at myself for paying the service charge as it was not worth it. The food was nice, I was expecting better but could’ve lived with it if the service wasn’t so atrocious. I hate to say this, but I hope it wasn’t racially motivated.
