The best restaurants serving Portuguese food in West Midlands

visited on Friday with my Portuguese husband. We had booked a table - waste of time as when we arrived we wasnt even asked for a name or even if we had booked a table, was then rushed to a table by an indian guy working there. felt a bit unwelcomed as rushed to a table. I ordered a long island ice tea, which was awful, undrinkable, had to send it back, stuck to a diet coke from that point forward. Starters, ok. just average. Pre made, frozen rissoles fried. nothing special for sure. Mains, very small portions. with no sides, no veg, no salad, no nothing. We had the bacalhau a bras and bacalhau con natas. small, shallow dishes, certainly not £40 worth of food, considering it is 90% potato! The latter was nice to be fair, but the bacalhau a bras was very dry, and this dish should be served with lots of chopped parsley and black olives - it was served with a parsley leaf and one GREEN olive. this is not how it is supposed to be. Any portuguese person will tell you this. Could have at least afford a garnish with it, some veg or salad etc. Dessert was a pre made dessert, clearly not freshly made or even made on site. The young English waitress was very friendly and pleasant, but I still didnt really feel very welcomed there. Even my portuguese husband (who really is not fussy) was disappoited with everything.

Women’s toilets blocked and disgustingly dirty! Halloumi starter was very salty and garlicky. Came on a Saturday dinner time and it was very busy. Kitchen seemed backed up and a lot of food was just sitting there for what seemed liked ages! Staff slow at turning around tables

Mi familia y yo celebrábamos el undécimo cumpleaños de mi hijo. Pedimos una mesa para 7 y el miembro del personal con el que hablamos inicialmente se fue y luego se acercó a un hombre que parecía estar administrando el piso. Después de que le dijeron que se necesitaba una mesa para 7, echó la cabeza hacia atrás y se voló las mejillas, en ese momento no nos sentimos bienvenidos y decidimos irnos y no cenar allí en absoluto.

I’m extremely frustrated with my recent visit to Nando’s. Despite declaring a pineapple allergy when ordering, my burger arrived with a huge pineapple ring—something not even part of the meal. This made me sick and ruined my trip, as I was unwell for the next two days. The manager handled the situation but seemed unconcerned. I had to approach her for a refund and wait while she dealt with a delivery, apologising for being busy. After just being sick in the bathroom, I needed to leave quickly, and this lack of urgency was disappointing. This experience has made me rethink visiting Nando’s again. Food allergy safety should always be a priority, and this was a clear failure.

Thank you to the Wednesbury team for a lovely evening. My Nan hasn’t been very well recently and today was the first day she decided to leave the house. I thought I’d treat her to her first Nando’s. The service was efficient, the food was excellent and the experience was made even better by the staff who treated us so well. My Nan has recently lost most of her sight and her hearing, the staff were very understanding, catering to our needs and their small acts of kindness made our day. I work in audiology and small things like this that allow people like my nan to join in and feel relaxed regardless of their health or disability, means the world. The restaurant is well lit with lots of natural day light and my nan found she could hear fairly well even though it’s a noisy environment. My nan would like me to share it was “the best chicken she’s had in a long time” “we’re definitely coming back”. 💗

Very nice and convenient. Sometimes too busy. Need more comfortable chairs in here also. But food is good as always and staff are great.

We went to fort last night our bill was £95 my baby then ask for pudding gave her money she paid then one off the waiters serving food put her fingers in some ones rice and the gave it the ladie i called her out saying u just put your fingers in her food she i washed my hands i said u never put hands in food i dont care if u bleached them she said she was checking it was hot i went mad then thay gave my daughter her money back and refused to serve her a 14 year old disgusting i will be taking this higher

We came to this branch rather than Derby for a change and wow! We were blown away by the attentive staff, wonderful manager and quick service. It’s clear that the manageress is brilliant and leads by example… We turned up at 11:40, the door was held open for us by staff arriving before us, seated with a smile. Another member of staff was polishing the tiles on the wall and the place was spotless. The manager greeted me at the till and was so friendly and personable. The staff all entered the restaurant bang on 12 like a well drilled team and went to their stations smiling. Every member of staff were very polite and genuine. It was almost like eating at a high end restaurant how well we were treated. We can’t praise this branch enough and it honestly made our day. We’ll be back!

Truly awful experience completely out of place with Nando’s elsewhere. The app was not working (and after 15 minutes of trying) we were forced to stand in a queue to order with several other people for over 20 minutes with one person taking orders only. Several other staff were just hanging around and when we asked the Manager to open a second till, he laughed at us belittling so we all walked out. I’m told this is normal at this branch The Nando’s organisation need to visit at a weekend as a secret shopper and see for themselves how awful his branch is. Avoid

I ordered the peri peri chips and the grilled chicken breast fillet in a pitta which had a garlic butter parsley sauce; in the pitta there were caramelized onions and grilled halloumi! I was very satisfied with the food!

Amazing Service & Great Food! I go to Nando’s West Bromwich all the time, and it never disappoints! I recently ordered a takeaway for collection and was greeted by the loveliest staff. Sara was an absolute gem—so friendly and positive! I arrived a little early, and she made sure my order was hurried along while keeping such a cheerful attitude. There was also another lovely Indian lady with blonde hair (I wish I caught her name!) who made me feel so welcome too. The service here is always fantastic, and the food is just as good. Can’t wait for my next visit! Would definitely recommend!!
