Nando's Birmingham - Grand Central in Birmingham

I only ever go to Nando’s when a friend chooses the venue. I don’t understand why you pay restaurant prices for self service and basic chicken and chips. The only thing you don’t do as a customer is cook the food and clean the restaurant…. although maybe we should!

First time at this particular Nandos restaurant. Great food as always. The upstairs part of the restaurant was a very nice place to sit and eat, away from the busyness of grand central. Woman on the door was a little rude and very slow to seat us. There were several tables free downstairs and then half the tables upstairs were free, so not sure why we were made to wait so long? Food took half hour to come out and one order was incorrect (correct order brought out just over 5mins later). Normally food at nandos is served quick! Maybe there had less kitchen staff on today so that’s why they were seating less people and food took longer? If that was the case they could have just told customers so we could be more understanding.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the very kind Nando’s manager… they were out of chicken thighs, but was very considerate and ended up making the trip worthwhile.

The food was mid. You could tell it was ready made and just heated it up. I don’t recommend the “creamy” mash, it was hard and cold. Also, the portions were small for the price. Atmosphere was ok but I suppose it’s what you expect for a Nando’s in the middle of Birmingham. However on the other hand, the service was quick and helpful but that’s probably because all they did was heat up the food that they bought from Tesco.

My second time at this branch of Nandos, Theresa’s service was great, she was very helpful with my order. My starters came in a bit cold but the experience was great still. 🫡

Good food hot warm lovely came out quick even tho they was busy 10/10 service and atmosphere everything came out on time and wasn’t waiting long as we was only there put our order in it came straight out and they was really busy witch was ideal you can’t beat the chicken at Nando’s price wise it’s not too bad but it’s not a every week thing it’s probably better getting the platter you get more for ya money I’d say over all perfect just gets a bit cramped in there. 👍

We did takeaway and it was excellent as usual! First time in this Nandos, but consistent service and experience across the locations we've visited.

We broke our Nando’s cherry here on Wednesday first time using this chain our grandson loves it so we gave it a shot very pleasantly surprised we couldn’t get the app to work so our survey took our order and vey soon our food arrived hot and tasty the server came over checked if all was ok it was better than expected, the server was exceptional and deserves praise so asked for the supervisor and gave her a thanks for employing our server as she really topped off our experience the servers name my wife told me was Denim, we shall return

First time ever at Nandos (I'm 71) Bit daunted by the app ordering but the lovely server Denim was so good to us and helped us . Food was really good and we will certainly be back. Thank you Denim for making it such a good experience.

Had a great experience here and some of the best customer service i’ve ever received. Max and Kayla were brilliant!!!

Not great for people who have difficulty with mobility.. or have a buggy /pushchair. We went.. I use a stick and struggle with mobility.. No down stairs.toilets.. Left wasn't working.. and told.only way to use toilet is up x 2 flight of stairs. I really struggled.. Staff didn't really seem to see an issues with not having toilets available for people who can't use stairs.. No space downstairs to put wheelchair.. or child's buggy..... Lot of items on menus weren't available... We emailed nando's . But had no formal reply. Which is disappointing. Wouldn't go back to this one.

Minced peas, rainbow slaw and the chicken with BBQ Chipotle sauce was excellent. The other chicken with garlic was a little bit dry. Service is hard to rate, you order via App/online so you don't interact that much.

I love Nandos but this branch is terrible. 1. We were a group of 2 went there around 3 pm, there were a few empty tables inside, two staff standing at the door chatting and glancing at us, me and friend stood outside for more than 10 min, finally one of them came and took us to the table that has been empty the whole time. 2. There were two groups came later than us and ordered the same food, but they got their food and drinks really fast, we waited more than 20 min for our food, and no one even brought our bottomless drink cup. 3. I always order sunset burger it’s really good in other nandos, it’s juicy tender flavorful. But the one I got from here was really dry and hard, I thought it was chicken breast at first, and when I ate it all I could taste was burnt food, I opened the burger and flipped it and saw the other side was completely burnt. Extremely disappointed, I recommend other nandos in Birmingham.

Staff were kind enough to seat a group of 10 of us over 3 tables. Two of the tables had food within 15 minutes, but third table had to wait 40 minutes. Their food sat under lamps for so long that it was cold and the butter packets were completely melted. The food could clearly be seen under the lamps for at least 15 minutes. The manager picked up plates only to put them back down again. There appeared to be no wait staff around, only the kitchen staff working away and the manager who did not step in to help as the dishes ready to be served stacked up. It was only after asking how long the food would be that this was then brought out by the manager. Such a shame as the kitchen worked so hard and the food would have been lovely if it had been brought out before it was cold.

Excellent customer service for those who have high standards. The food Is great but it would be wonderful if there was halal meat options.

Staff are very rude, manager is flippant and rude too. Asked specifically for a leg piece with my 1/4 chicken meal. Waitress misheard me and out through breast piece. Then she said couldn’t do anything. Manager came ans spoke to her and she came back and said “my manager said just leave it” then I disputed and when they finally gave me my leg piece is was black and burnt on one side with charcoal and very bitter. Kate the Manager was very attentive to me and my families needs and supported us. This is a great place to eat as its close to station. I recommend this Nandos as the service was great. Thank you once again Kate.

Me and my boyfriend go to this franchise every few weeks and we have never had a bad experience. Sometimes there’s a bit of a wait but the staff and the food is top tier. Olivia is the best waitress, we’ve had her serve us around 2 times and she is amazing and makes us feel so welcome. We usually order the beanie wrap and pitta and it’s always been 10/10. Great food for vegetarians.

Staff were welcoming, it was clean and tidy, food was tasty and plenty of sauces were available for the table. We were told to order via QR code at the table, would have preferred to have dealt with an actual person but to be fair the process was fairly easy and we didn't have to wait long for our food.

The customer service here is great. Staff were ALL so friendly. Went out of their way to make it a comfortable experience for us. The atmosphere was relaxing, lights and the music choice was good too. If I feel like having a “cheeky Nando’s” again I’ll go back here. Prices were decent too, if you get a set meal for sharing, there’s more than enough and it comes out cheaper too 👌

We visited Birmingham central on Friday lunchtime, not having a Nandos in the whole of Cornwall it had to be a must do The food was absolutely lovely, but the best thing about this Nandos was the staff! A young team, hard working, they have a laugh and really looked like they were enjoying working! Unlike many other restaurants we have been to who just seem to ‘go through the motions’ The managers and staff were brilliant, looked like an all girl team as well! Not a man in sight! Burger burn was burnt almost charred which is not the usual for Nandos and chicken was so dry. Normally fast service but the guy was just sitting around and laughing with coworkers so I assume that’s why our food wasn’t good as we waited quite a while on a non busy day.

My sister and I enjoyed our first ever meal here on Saturday. The Service we received from the extremely attentive Dani and Sophie was excellent - thank you both for ensuring our dining experience was memorable. The suggestions offered to menu choices were taken on board, our food arrived and was soon devoured! We will return to this restaurant again very soon and highly recommend.

We came to the restaurant as a large group, after being turned away at another Nando’s branch. Tom was absolutely amazing! He moved tables around to accommodate us and gave us free snacks and drinks as an apology for our experience at the other store. Couldn’t recommend enough!!! Amazing service will definitely be back!

After a negative experience at Nando’s New Street we came to Grand Central and were greeted by the manager Tom. Tom and the team were AMAZING!

Staff are extremely rude, terrible miscommunication regarding a meal a specifically travelled to this franchise and received nothing but terrible service, cold food & staff with appalling attitude. I think it may have been the manager herself who dealt with us so abruptly not entirely sure. Avoid this branch at all costs.

When I went to Nandos the food was kind of dry and cold. One woman who was serving us was very disturbed and didn't look like she wanted to be there. So crowded and so many people were there.

One of the best experiences at Nando’s, an absolute joy to dine at this establishment. I’m sure some criticism would be great, but I would be putting myself through a challenge. Where do I start? I was politely greeted and escorted upstairs by Tom in a timely manner to Molly. Molly was just great, ushered me to my table, and even laid out my cutlery. She was informative in explaining how to navigate the online ordering system and gave her recommendations from the menu. After I had ordered, Nico in the kitchen wasted no time and hastily prepared my food while keeping quality control. When my order was ready, Molly produced to me my food in a polite hostess manner. As per usual, the food was to die for. Both Molly and Tom were polite enough to offer their services while I dined on my succulent chicken. After I had finished, I left Nando’s with kind goodbyes from the staff. 10/10 would surely love to come back again, definitely yeh best Nando’s I have been too so far.

Best of all the Nando's I have visited in Birmingham! The chef here should teach everyone else to make juicy, flavourful and tasty chicken at all the other places. The time they took to bring the platter took a bit of time as the sides took more time to get ready. We'd have at least liked the chicken first and the sides later. But it's a minor point. I can't wait to visit this place yet again and have more of that yummy chicken!

I came for a collection for food in my break, tom asked me if there was anything I needed. Was very helpful. Food was ready as soon as I got there didn’t have to wait or anything. Great service, Thankyou tom! I will be back!

my food was raw, not happy with the service i tried to complain and nobody spoke to us, we had to go up to order the food 20 minutes after being sat down.

Surprisingly chilled for being situated in the Grand Central station. However the quality of food across all Nandos is quite shocking now, the portions feel tiny the food does not come hot and the sauce it's such a mismatch whatever this red stuff that is on there now tastes weird. The restaurant is also primed for huge waves of people and I've witnessed so many people coming for food only to be turned away because they close early! This is the Grand Central station and it should be open untill midnight at the least! You've definitely lost around 9 people since I've been eating and the manager or staff got frustrated going back to the door all the time so he locked it then people just stood outside and waited. The few people inside who wanted to leave couldn't get out, as I'm writing this review there's another three people wanting to come and eat! I also not a fan of this QR code on the table that you have to use to scan. Stressful and unnecessary. Maybe it's Brexit maybe it's Corona maybe it's inflation but the portion of food I received is a kid's meal.

Went today around 1 pm. They were busy ofc. My order cc amen later than usual and they were serving orders to people that came after me. When I finally got my order, it wasn't fresh. It was reheated chicken. Love Nando's but this was really disappointing. Might consider other options for lunch from now on.

Had a wonderful time at this restaurant and my review is all positive. We were seated upstairs but there was plenty of room and the food arrived at our table very quickly. The food itself was amazing beautifully cooked and prepared and tasted delicious. The staff were very friendly and courteous throughout and the meal was reasonably priced and great value for money.

Visited on a late Thursday afternoon, ordered the whole chicken with four sides, two lots of chips, coleslaw, and garlic bread. After a while, its nice to enjoy Nando's. Take a look at the photo, cost £20, what do you think?

Busy. Quick in and out. They are busy usually at Lunch Time. They still kept ordering system using a table service, it uses a browser rather than an app - can sometimes fiddle to login again and again due to session ID different. We didn’t had to wait. The food was on the table before 10mins. For Nando’s - that’s fast.

Visited today with my young daughter as a birthday treat, was asked to go upstairs and sat for ages without any member of staff speaking with us, in the end I had to locate menus and cutlery, I then ordered and asked for a glass of white wine, the waitress looked at the bottle with a drop left in and huffed and puffed so I said I'd have coke, the food came not the chips we ordered and Luke warm, nobody asked if the food was ok and didn't see anyone as we left, felt disappointed all round and won't be visiting again.

Went by myself after the Gym, for 3 times the same week. Accommodating and friendly staff and the food was decent, delicious and full of flavour as you would expect from Nandos.

Great table service and customer service and food

Not a fan. Transport locations should be made for ease and speed. I had 45 mins to grab food (like most city workers) and was taken to the top floor which was a maze to follow, plenty of free tables downstairs? Wanted to be in and out but by time scanned a QR code and followed a website and was forced to sign in etc I had to rush my food and drink. Staff upstairs were great tbf. Just not a place I'd go if in a hurry.

I was given the menu I tried to order the vegan option to be told the menu doesn't start for another 2 days then why give me the menu so I won't be going there again

Admittedly I am quite suprised that this place at 4.2 stars! Me and boyfriend both entered the restrant. The man met us at the door. And was like "oh yeah go down there." Being quite dismissive and not really caring? And left us there to go and greet the next customer! There was seats in the middle so I assumed he ment there. No, he then told us to go upstairs as there's more room. So we both went upstairs. A man behind the counter told us to sit at the table pointing to two long tables in the middle. I'm paranoid about covid but there was no methods of preventing the spread. Maybe 1-2 were wearing masks. But the fact we were at long tables where we would have to share put me off a bit. We sat down at one only to be moved for this "big event" coming in. There was no difference between this empty table and the empty table behind us. I don't really understand why we had to be moved AGAIN. So when we were finally say down. They didn't give us a menu. When we finally got our food (I wasn't timing it but it took way too long to come out) my boyfriends meal went missing! So we had to wait another 5-10 minutes for his. Couldn't think it could get any worse but it did! I got half way through my chicken and it was PINK! We won't be coming here again! Also, the so called big event was a family of four. Who didn't even know a the family of 2 up the table. Some "big event"

Waited a while in queue with no one seeming to manage the queue I.e. no service saying about times or someone will see to your shortly. Eventually get to front and find out no chicken left...went to different Nandos nearby which was perfect so can't comment on food in this one.

Took along time for food to arrive, then wrong sauce on, offered a starter while we waited but then told it would arrive altogether, still wrong, experience appalling.

One of the best Nando's I've been to in a while there was 12 of us and we only waited for 10minutes. Great customer service. Food was on point.
