Nando's in Birmingham

Food was brilliant. I just feel like some of the staff lack the service. We were greeted with one fed up staff member who couldn't even crack a smile let alone say hello to my child who was being polite to him saying hello how are you? Staff who brought food out were the same just seemed so fed up and clearly didn't want to be there doing the job.

Had a wonderful experience today at nandos . It was made even better by the guy at the door , moheen was his name Thank you will return

Honestly the worst, I will repeat what others has said, dirty tables left for hours Party of 5 sat on a on a table of 4 never thou there were empty tables Staff were poor, I saw staff look at dirty tables and which had not been cleaned the hour we were in there. I saw meat being cooked multiple times as service was slow and the food was cold Was told we were next up 15 minutes later no food, then Took 10 minutes to talk to someone to get a refund. At least I got chicken wings at Pizza Hut

The worst Nandos experience I have ever had. Started off with a young wait staff who seemed to have no idea what was going on, blankly walked us around the room trying to find a table for 5. Ended up seating us at a table for 4, even though we could see bigger tables that were empty and clean. Then waited almost an hour for food, the majority of which we could see was left to go cold on the side while they waited for more sides to be cooked. Baring in mind, the restaurant was not busy so I’m not entirely sure what the hold up was. When we first asked about our order we were told we would be the next to be served, only to then see others who had arrived after us receiving their food. After a no show on the food we decided to ask for a refund, which then took another 10 minutes of standing around at the till! No apology given, just a receipt shoved in front of us and told to fill out our contact details for the refund. Very poor service, the staff didn’t seem to want to be there. On top of this, tables were left empty with food still on for the entire hour we were there. Some major staff rehaul needs to be done at this site.

Before I came here to eat was wondering why so many bad reviews but I find out it's shame To see bad attitude rude lady work at there and she is manager oh my god sorry to worker at there . She don't know how to handle a bad situation . She just ready to argue with customers and not try to find solutions and treat me front of my child it's big shame . I don't understand if you not happy to be there than don't work stay home Because you was look tried and hard for you to walk with low confidence energy

Visited nandos in ramadan to open my fast. The store was really busy but we received excellent customer service from one of the staff members mohin. Food was also fresh and tasty.

Waited 42 minutes for meal and when it arrived the chips was cold and the salad was very dry. Poorly presented. While the customer service was good the food was disappointing.

Arrived to a deserted restaurant which is normally quite busy. Ordered half chicken chips and corn and hallumi. My aunty ordered butterfly chicken with chips and rainbow coleslaw. I had a bottomless drink and my aunt ordered ginger ale. She placed her order before me. I got my food before her and it was cold. Then told there was no ginger ale. Food sent back and then brought back and told it was fresh but my chicken had just been turned over and the fries placed in a bowl. Sent away again. Then my aunt was told her meal would be 15 mins, remember she ordered before me. I asked for our meals to be brought out together. They returned with my meal 5 mins later it took 42 minutes for my aunt to get her burger which was awful I had nearly finished my foodvwhen her meal arrived. Best thing was the bottomless drinks. Complained to the manager who gave a lame excuse saying it was quiet and the staff didn't know what to do when tables arrived. Given a free desert and some sweet potato wedges. Rubbish deal. later. Still no meal for my aunt. I had almost finished mine when her butterfly burger arrived 42 minutes after ordering. The meal wasn't hot but by then we were exhausted euth complaining. Chicken was dry and both meals were unpleasant. Best thing was the bottomless drink and even then there was no ice.

The menus, table and cutlery were dirty and grubby, the food was cold the restaurant was cold and the manager I complained to was full of excuses and not prepared to accept all the faillings

Went out for a dinner and the chicken was unexplainable. It was old, dry and had a gone off taste to it. We were very disappointed. The chicken flavour was only on the outer skin of the chicken, leaving the inside totally plain. We left the restaurant wishing we never came.

I’ve been coming here for many years but this time around I met a colleague who was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure me and my family was happy with our time at Nando’s. Special shout out to moheen 👏

I've been here a few times. Each time I've been there is always something not on the menu, this from being chicken with bones, or sometimes chicken thighs. Staff are nice. However, there is some improvement needed regarding service as I had to ask a member of staff 3 times for some butter, as I had a corn on the cob.

Chicken is always good. Nothing to fault there. However when ever I order a delivery sauces have always been provided. So this is the experience i am use too. On this order there were no sauces. I called the restaurant and the lady manager explained they are short in the store. This is accpetble but what was really annoying was when she emphasised they are complimentary. This was dis heartning and there was no apology. She was not at all phased or displayed any care that a customer had recieved food with no sauces. I replied to explain the sauces are one of the most important aspect of a nandos meal its what diatigushes you from other piri chicken restaurants. She continued to reply with the comlimentary explanation and that i should hqve requested in the comments. The app needs updating and if customers want sauce sachets these should be an option to request or purchase not just the bottles. I expected the manager to be a little apologetic but she was not. I am sure this is not how Nandos want there customers spoken too. I have been using this particular Nandos since they opened 15 -20 years ago when star city first opened. Truly disappointed today.

Worst branch ever to go to! Service is so slow and customer service is rubbish. We was stood at the door for 20 minutes while staff just watched and walked passed until I had to ask someone if there is a table free or not as they should say rather than making us wait or say how long. There was also a dirty dustpan and brush in the way which is a hazard the customers and staff was tripping over it near us and the staff didn’t even bother picking it up. Finally seated after 35 minutes we went to order and everything was out of stock. They should let us know before wasting our time. Service is absolutely rubbish.

I cant get enough of nandos, this is one of my go to places. The team and the service really make up for the experience of dining in.

I Go here sometimes and I’ve got to say, the amount of people you can’t even sit is unbelievable when you’ve got chairs everywhere but that’s not all. I went and waited Half an hour for just a butterfly chicken and chips. You’ve got to be quicker

Poor and slow service. There was only one staff on the till to take orders. Had to wait over 10 mins just to place our order. The manager who was at the tills could see the queue was growing longer and longer yet totally ignored it! When the food arrived, the staff serving us was mumbling to the point where we had to ask him to repeat himself 3 times and even then we couldn’t make out what he was saying. They got 2 things on the order wrong! Not a great visit.

I’ve managed to avoid the hype of this chain for years however was the only place beyond McDonalds in star city that looked ok . A travesty of a dining “ experience “ how grim must Birmingham be for people to come back here ? £18 gets a handful of chips , four chicken thighs which were about two bites of dry horribly spiced mush and a corn on the cob which managed to be soggy, hard and tasteless . I won’t be back

Quite disappointed with this Nando’s tbf. There was no queue but we waited to be seated. No one came and after like 15 minutes we just sat ourselves down at a seat. Every time we come our food is burnt. Well today I ordered chicken thighs, peri chips and garlic bread with side of halloumi. My food came and my garlic bread was missing. Went back to the till and asked for my garlic bread to be given two pieces that were literally burnt. I took it to the table and thought let’s just try I’m not a person to go back again. I bit into it and it was a horrible burnt taste. Went back again and got given two different garlic breads which were a lot better. No apology or nothing. It’s a shame because the chicken lacked flavour too. My sisters garlic bread was rock hard she couldn’t even eat it but at this point we gave up.

It is a very crowded place. But food is very tasty, it comes fresh and it's Halal!

I’m a regular customer at nandos and have hit and miss experiences. However the past couple of times I’ve been I’ve been given great customer service experience by a the host (Asian guy with curly hair and mullet). One time I was unsatisfied with the quality of the food and he happily helped to replace it without any hesitation. I was very satisfied with his service and manners. You should have more people like him as they’re rare nowadays. :)

The food came so late and was so cold and took 50 mins waiting and 30 mins waiting for food chips was so cold and chicken aswel there was no ketchup i asked they said the deliver hasnt came is so terribled there is no staff and manager dont do nothing i complaint it so disguesting staff and people no staff at all and the rice was disguesting no taste all food was disgueting

I went to this Nando’s in Star City on Saturday on the 12th August 2023 with my very close Khala and with my Cousins. My 1/4 Extra Hot with Peri Peri Chips and with Spicy Rice was delicious. The Salted Caramel Cheesecake was delicious with the Creamy Sauce. The next time I go to Birmingham I will come to this Nando’s again. I had a very nice time and I enjoyed it very much. Thank You Nando’s Birmingham Star City.

Very disappointed my chicken was under cooked told the mnager and showed it. The reply was i can't do eneything about it . It was not very professional. I have been going to nandoes for a long time. This was the most disappointing. I didn't make a big fuss about it. This thing's can happen I know because I work in a restaurant my self. Very bad and unprofessional management.

Food is delicious and staff is very attentive and kind! Next time we're in Birmingham, we will come back!

Terrible place. I waited 45 minutes for a single burger while the room was 80% empty and the ingredients clearly already made (they roast the chicken at the ordering desk). Also I had to go and find the cutlery myself. It was not even good.

Great service, clean looking staff. Good food. The restaurant was very hot when we arrived a little uncomfortable. However, that lady on the next table asked for the AC to be turned on. I would definitely go here again. I'm not sure how much was spent on our meal ,7 of us,as it was paid for.

Was greeted by the most polite lady, who went out her way to make our evening there a pleasant one. The ladies name was Tajah. Thank you, we need more staff like this, you made mine and my daughters experience amazing.

Really poor service. The food was OK but the service was shocking. Long wait times and had to ask for the desert. Which came 30 minutes after we ordered it. Very dirty tables weren't cleaned and food debris on the floor. Wouldn't eat here again. Disappointing not to nandos usual standards

A rare experience at this Nandos...it was quiet.. Which was excellent news to be honest as it's one of the few Halal ones in Birmingham so no massive queues. Our server was happiness personified, smiling and attentive as she led us to our table. Food..well..the food genius whomever put grilled Chicken, chips and hot sauce (or mild, or lemon or herb or..etc..) deserves the Nobel Peace Prize 😁 it was well cooked and delicious. The let down is that the restaurant was dusty (don't look up) the toilets grubby the music excellent but loud (yes I'm too old) but it's a bloody Nandos for Gods sake, not Gordon flippin Ramsey! Enjoy

Got to claim my free quarter chicken before it's taken off my loyalty card, which is a bit wrong, since I've earned it. The £7 tax on my bill left a bitter taste in my mouth, took a daily of four bill to over £40. Plus side, had to wait less than an hour, but didn't get a text message to say my table was ready, just happened to ask how much longer. Staff were as helpful as ever. Went back in August and had the burger which was very tasty but the bun could have been softer. The portion of chips has been greatly reduced I noticed. They now brought out chicken cheese melt with fries but it was cold and very little cheese. Stick to burger and sauce in alum rock I'd say. Not enough staff, same guy that showed us to our table, brought our food

Went for a quick meal with my partner after going to tenpin, I was quickly disappointed when I discovered my student discount on the app for Nando’s wasn’t working, not the restaurants fault but it makes the service quicker when I order through my phone with a discount. My partner has already ordered his by now so I quickly head to the till to realise other people are also waiting to be served and the staff are ignoring them. I completely understand being understaffed, but even what seemed to be the manager was having an attitude with the staff when it came to serving at the till, I remember the manager saying “*his name* go to the till, NOW!” and at that point it had already ruined the experience for me. Then to make matters worse, I asked if the staff member could apply student discount to my order, which I also had proof to say I was a student, he refused and said Nando’s don’t do a student discount, which they do, he obviously just didn’t want to do it for me. I visit Nando’s regularly, whatever city I visit, and this particular restaurant just seemed very miserable, I couldn’t see one smiling face at all, and in actuality, I’m not surprised, the staff were rude and I was that upset about the service, I only ordered a bowl of chips and a drink because I didn’t fancy sitting in there for longer than I wanted to. I wish I could give them the benefit of the doubt because of them being understaffed, but refusing discounts because you can’t be bothered to put it through really pushed me over the edge, I never usually mind if I don’t get to use my student discount but I am a student and if I have the opportunity to get money off a purchase, then I will use it, because then otherwise, why is it a thing? Anyway, to conclude my review, I’m sure the staff there were just having a bad day because of the lack of help, but it works the same for customers, if we give you attitude, you give it back, vice versa. Needless to say, we both will not be going back.

A regular place to eat with friends when at star city to watch a movie. Its busy and the food at Nando’s is always consistent and enjoyable.

I am a healthcare professional and can say for certain that we unfortunately had a case of gastroenteritis within 4 hours of eating out at this Nandos branch. I would strongly suggest this place has a review of its hygiene, preparation and cooking practices urgently. The place is run down and in need for a much needed refurbishment. Very disappointed visit.

Went with a group of friends . Booked table beforehand as usually busy in the beings so luckily didn’t have to wait . Large order, served on time and cooked well as usual .

Elija una envoltura y dos lados y extras y mezclamos y combinamos i. e lados compartidos. fabulosa deco. As personal, comida encantadora y muy limpia. Perfecto, así que volvimos una semana más tarde y lo volvimos a hacer. Esto realmente fue una comida de luch. Cuesta más de 30 con bebidas y un exceso de mi presupuesto, pero como un super lujo / celebraciones, sin duda volveremos. Estaba lleno, feliz y me sentí muy feliz con toda la comida.

Siempre vamos a Five Ways, Selly Oak y Grand Central Nando's y nunca tuvimos una mala experiencia, pero anoche la ciudad estrella de Nando arruinó totalmente nuestra noche.¡Básicamente gasté más de 100 en algo que no disfrutamos comiéndolo! ! ! Went to Nandos Starcity 31 December. We were seated in a cold drafty corner. Food arrived finally ordered a platter which arrived looking more like a meal for one, skimped on the butterfly chicken, chips looked like they had just been chucked on the serving plate, a messy bowl if coleslaw dropped onto the outside of the bowl and a bowel of limp lettuce with one slice of cucumber. Platter was for two people and as for the price it was certainly over the top not in keeping with the sparse food of a poor quality. Not going again can get spicy chicken anywhere and anywhere else would of been better.

Great service, friendly staff and amazing food, went with friends on a training course, wasn’t waiting long to be seated and food came out reasonably quick

Customer service is good, food is okay. Some time olive oil is not available and last time garlic bread was hard which means it might be out dated or not cooked well to keep moisture. I will go again.

Not a huge fan of restaurant chains and been to a few of these of late and with its faults. However full marks for this one with good food and clean restaurant. Service ok.

I've been visiting Nandos for many years now with friends and family now. The food has always been top class and I have never had any issues with the food and would recommend it to anyone. However, the only issues which I commonly face is the staff working behind the counter fake forever to take our order. At some occains they only have 2 people working at the till and 1 always seems to be either taking a phone order or undertaking another in house chore, therefore leaving one just to take orders, this eventually leads to a much bigger and annoyed queue. I have raised this issue with the management at Nandos and hopefully it wouldn't be an ongoing issue.But aside from the above I would recommend it.

I’ve been to a fair few Nando’s across the UK and this had to be far by the worst unfortunately.The staff were lovely and chatty however the food quality was awful. A funny taste throughout my whole meal, however my partner said his was OK, so this is a personal opinion. But i would never eat here again.Floors behind the tills were flithy

We visited for lunch and can see no major issues really here, the food is good as expected, prices are creeping up slowly, the service is ok not bad. The food came out quick, and the greet and exit were both there too. A good Nando’s branch all round.

Fuimos a Nando el domingo 30 de junio y fuimos como una familia con nuestros dos bebés. Nos dijeron los caballeros en la puerta que quizás tengas que dejar uno de los cochecitos en la puerta ya que no tenemos espacio. Nunca había experimentado esto antes en ningún restaurante donde no atienden a las familias. El gerente vino y dijo que es posible y nos dirigimos a nuestras mesas, sin embargo, las mesas estaban en una posición incómoda, pero se podrían haber reorganizado, pero el camarero no hizo ningún esfuerzo por cambiarlas. Además, la señora que nos atendió no tenía habilidades de servicio al cliente y debe recibir capacitación sobre cómo hablar con los clientes. He sido un cliente habitual de la Starcity de Nando, pero es seguro decir que no volveré a asistir aquí.

Como era de esperar, una gran bienvenida, se sentó con prontitud, se ordenó rápidamente, ya que sabíamos lo que queríamos, la comida salió con suficiente antelación. La comida era deliciosa y justo. Continuando recogiendo los puntos de mi Nando. El único comentario sería rellenar las botellas de ketchup. Buena comida y excelente servicio del personal, ¿qué más se puede decir?

¿Por dónde empiezo con esta sucursal? La terrible experiencia comenzó tan pronto como entramos por la puerta, nos dijeron que no había mesas, pero vimos una mesa vacía que indicamos, así que nos sentamos allí, al hacer el pedido, nos dijeron nuestro pedido sería de 25 minutos, después de 40 minutos una camarera se acercó y dijo que tomaría otros 10, pero en realidad tardó 20 minutos, cuando llegó la comida, la comida de mis amigos estaba caliente y la nuestra estaba fría, le informé al gerente quién reemplazó el orden de comida fresca, cuando salió eso, mi amigo ya había terminado su comida y nuestro pollo no estaba rociado con ningún limón y hierba, básicamente solo era un pollo asado a la parrilla, en ese momento era más de 1 hora y 30 minutos desde que pedimos, en su lugar pregunté para un reembolso. Los camareros eran inexpertos y tenían problemas de actitud. ¡Nunca volvería a visitar esta sucursal, absolutamente disgustado! La amplia sucursal de la calle es mucho mejor.

It was busy when we arrived and we had to queue and bit to get our order in. The food arrived relatively quickly though. The food was good, everyone in our party enjoyed it.

Excellent location, high class typically Nandos themed environment. Brilliant, if it does not add to your appetite. Food excellent Service excellent Staff very eager to please OK slightly expensive than other restaurants. Do not waste your money anywhere else.
