The best restaurants serving Pizza pasta food in South Wales

Has to be the most expensive place on earth! I don’t understand how people go here? Overrated ice cream shop! You have to be mad to pay their prices!

I come in here every now and again to work. It’s always a really welcoming place, they have great wifi, and have lots of tables and charging points upstairs (and this is usually very quiet) so it’s a perfect working or reading spot. A pot of tea is £3 which is about average. This is a clean and vibey place and very enjoyable to work in. My only issue is in attempting to stick to their aesthetic, none of their chairs properly fit under the table which is very annoying when wanting to sit up at the table. Please can you get chairs where you can actually sit under the table! As well as this, please can you make sugar available on all tables instead of giving individual cubes where I have to go down and get more. Very minor points as love this place!

I’d like to start by saying we as a family have been using the Villagio since the 1970s and love supporting a local family business! However, our experience this weekend did leave us a little disappointed. We had booked for 10 of us to celebrate my father’s 76th birthday. Days before we’d dropped in bunting and cake and were reassured that we’d be sitting upstairs and that they would add these to our table. We arrived 10 minutes early and were made to feel a little uncomfortable about this, the restaurant was extremely busy and the staff clearly stressed. Throwing the bunting at me pretty much, without anything to use to attach it to walls so it went unused. Our table at 7pm still wasn't ready and they then had to ask a table of 4 to move who were waiting on their dessert, again proving uncomfortable. We then waited a further 15 minutes for our drinks order to be taken, staff kept bringing food over which clearly wasn’t ours - staff were hugely overwhelmed. Things eventually calmed down and staff were polite, we actually just felt a little sorry for them! We felt the restaurant was just over booked or under managed on the night. Food was excellent though 👌🏼

This is the Fourth time I’ve ordered food from here and they can’t get a driver .. still takes my money and I have to wait three or four days for it back… they need to post a message online on their website or something and stop taken the money off people and making them wait for their money.

Probably our worst experience at a Pizza Express ; slow service ( when the waiter came to take the order he seemed clueless about what was on the menu and we had to show him what we wanted) long wait for drinks ( my glass of Prosecco was not full as waiter was carrying it in such a way some spilt and was running down the glass) starter never came, when mains arrived we sent them back because starter hadn’t arrived then they brought the starter and immediately returned the mains to table ( we sent starter back) meantime my pizza was going cold. My husband lasagne was all sauce no meat, boiling hot on the outer layer but lukewarm in the centre. When we asked for condiments they didn’t come straight away and when they did the pepper grinder was empty. We asked for the bill having made it clear to the manager that we weren’t very happy- she did apologise and returned with the bill stating they hadn’t charged us for the polenta fries - which we didn’t have !!! Having paid and about to leave the waiter then returned to clear the table and asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu! ( which had we not been so unhappy we would have had as well as more drinks- although we weren’t asked if we wanted another one during our time there either ) I appreciate it was busy however there were a lot of staff who didn’t appear to be particularly well organised. If we’d been offered a drink by way of an apology I wouldn’t be leaving this review . I wish we’d dined elsewhere as both the quality of both the food and customer service were very poor . I

Visited today for a coffee and decided to have a pancake stack. Plenty of choices of toppings and flavours. So I decided to have the biscoff option. 3 large warm pancakes smothered in biscoff sauce with 2 huge scoops of ice cream- 1 vanilla and 1 biscoff, all sprinkled with biscoff biscuits and some squirts cream! Delicious and a generous portion! Cappuccino was perfect too! Customer service was excellent, the staff are friendly and provide a quick service, would definitely recommend 😁

Ordered a mixed kebab, guy lit the lamb donor side to only then use the horrible pre cut left over stuff in the tin underneath, the chicken was ‘freshly cut I think’ but 90% lamb and 10% chicken. Chips also gross, waste of money and thrown in bin, scared to eat

This place is usually good but tonight it was pretty awful. The chips were ‘chewy’!!! Like they had been cooked from the day before or at least half a dozen times. The onion rings were the same. The burger was okay if a bit over cooked and dry - also it would be nice to be able to choose, for example, lettuce AND tomato, etc. rather than having to choose one thing. I worked in fast food for years in a previous life and honestly? I’d be embarrassed to ask for more than a couple of quid.for that.

Hilarious Says it's open when in fact it's closed and not a single soul in sight. There is not a gay scene in Newport simple as that

Whatever you order, they will deliver the smaller size but charge you the full amount. If you ring to complain, suddenly they don't speak English. They are money grabbing idiots and you are better spending your money at #anybloodywhere

Very nice people pizza lovely,chips are amazing BUT….there choclate cake is way to small,thats there only fault,MORE CAKE PLEASE👍

Sadly had to wait 2 hrs and not all the order turned up, we then had to chase them to where the remaining order was. No apologies offered by the manager, hey ho, lesson learned on that front.

havent recieved the food 40 quids worth. this is becoming a joke

We visited on a Friday lunch time with our two year old daughter. Excepting the fact that the food was great as always, the service from Lucy and her colleague was exceptional, making our daughter feel really important and just simply being great. We hope we're served by her again next time we visit.

This place is so good. Food is always so good and people in there are nice too. Love this place
