Da Mara

Penylan, Cardiff, <20£
25/01/2020: My wife and I popped in for pizza before a gig at The Globe. The pizzas were very nice and the arancini was fantastic. Full of flavour, a satisfyingly good size. The service was excellent too.
25/01/2020: Meal for 4 at this Italian restaurant. Wonderful food and looked after by all the staff including Giuseppe who was great. When things calmed down the chef was able to engage with us as well which was just great. Food was all very tasty and hot. I thoroughly enjoyed my Sicilian sausage which was served in a type of broth (I had to mop the dregs up with bread as it was so tasty). Followed by salt crust sea bream from the specials board, served in a great fashion, bulleted at the table side. Thanks Da Mara

Wheatsheaf Rooms

Llantrisant Town, Rhondda Cynon Taf
08/09/2019: A fabulous place for a lovely night out. Live music, happy chatty people. Great service and the food was absolutely brilliant. It was freshly prepared to order in an open kitchen and delivered piping hot .. lots of dishes to share whilst chatting over a chilled bottle of wine. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone and we will definitely be returning. Thank you all for a tremendous night, looking forward to our next visit soon.
13/07/2019: On the spur of the moment, my wife and I decided to visit this well known landmark in Llantrisant “ Church/Parish of the Three Saints”. We have visited this delightful watering hole many times over the years - but this was the first time since it has become an eatery.

Cadnant, Isle of Anglesey, 20-30£
23/01/2020: After hearing loads of amazing reviews from colleagues, we finally made the time in our work trip to visit Dylan’s and they did not disappoint!
18/01/2020: Called in early afternoon without a booking - request very well received - no table available but offered to gave a drink in the bar and they would come and find us when one was available, probably within 20minutes - to the bar we marched, just got our drinks and we were told a table was available - the system works,

Evans's Fish Bar

Llanidloes, Powys, <20£
11/01/2020: We just had fish and chips and it was lovely. Just what we needed after hiking around the forests. Recommended.
23/08/2019: Very good fish and chips, all freshly cooked. I had a nice piece of fish and chips and my other half had sausages and chips. They were lovely.

Nags Head

Rossett, Wrexham, >100£
19/01/2020: Called in at the Nags Head on a Thursday evening. I made a booking over the phone a week before. There was no record of the booking in the diary upon arrival. Not a problem, as there was plenty of empty tables to choose from.
10/01/2020: We visited the Nag’s Head today for lunch to celebrate my birthday. The food and service were excellent. The pub had just introduced a new menu and the range of options was extensive. The atmosphere is really homely and friendly. No rushing you through courses. It was a real pleasure. My wife and I will return next month to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It impressed us that much!

Pizza Express Wrexham

Smithfield, Wrexham
12/09/2019: Lovely lunch. Very clean. Leggera pizzas are great. Healthy and filling. Try the new mango spritzer it is lovely. Very nice waiter.
05/08/2019: Visited here yesterday with a group of friends. Fast service and great food. We had the 2 for 1 meerkat meals too which made it a cheap evening for us all. We all had Starters - garlic bread with mozzarella & lemon and herb chicken wings. Mains - Selection of the different pizzas (always very filling) and then 2 of us had dessert which they enjoyed. Will definitely be visiting again.

Brew Stone

Uplands, Swansea, 20-30£
14/01/2020: On the whole, disappointed. We were a party of 8 who pre -booked our food but left disappointed with the offering. Service was pleasant enough but other than that, not great with our meals lack-lustre and not what we had hoped for. I won’t be rushing back anytime soon....
12/01/2020: Had lunch for two. Good value and quality service was quick and attentive. Would recommend this restaurant.

Cafe 93

Oystermouth, Swansea
11/09/2019: Can highly recommend this restaurant, the food was delicious and good service. Pizzas were great and will definitely return when we are next in the area.
15/08/2019: Cafe 93 has lovely food and a great selection of cakes/desserts. The salads and pizzas in particular are my favourite.

The Bunch of Grapes

Cenarth, Carmarthenshire, 20-30£
19/01/2020: Went in there for a coffee, it was ok in there a bit grubby. It’s a shame as we were considering eating there but changed our mind. Ended up in Harrison’s across the road
18/01/2020: Fabulous night at the bunch of grapes. Great company and atmosphere. Stayed too long, and had to explore the town to find a way back into our hotel. I probably now have frostbite, like that bloke in that film, where he crash lands in the mountains and has to eat the other passengers to survive... luckily it didnt come to that... This time. I digress. Highly recommend this pub. :-)

West Cross, Swansea
23/01/2020: Enjoyed another quick visit to this well placed establishment for a morning coffee. It was pouring with rain but still very busy both for coffee and snacks. Clean and welcoming with great service. Lots and of tables available outside but undercover too for the several cyclists and dog walkers to enjoy.
21/01/2020: Visited today for a coffee, but always feel disgruntled having to sit outside in the freezing cold as we have a dog. The 2 tiny heaters aren't powerful enough in winter and feel there should be a partisan glass wall put up so that there is a outdoor dog friendly section or a designated area inside without everyone having to freeze or going to other more dog friendly cafes. While it's not an issue in summer it rules out us coming more often in winter. Staff are quick to clean tables inside, but cant help but feel the whole place is tired and dated, cracked glass, rusty heaters, dusty roof, tiny toilets, and I think its long overdue a refresh. The food is quite overpriced for what you get and cant help but feel there is little investment back in to the restaurant in the over 16 years iv'e been coming. They also don't offer skimmed milk in coffee only semi skimmed and i'm personally quite particular about my milk . I find it odd for a coffee business not to cater for all tastes. Pleasant stop off that needs updating!

Machynlleth, Powys
09/01/2020: Had a good stay here in this old style hotel which is full of character with friendly staff who were happy to talk about the history of the hotel and local area.
31/12/2019: What a lovely menu. Scallop starter was cooked to perfection. Pork was succulent and black pudding mash a delight. 2 of the party had mussels nd then pheasant and ll agreed was amazing. The wine list very impressive and the Usilio was wonderful. Well done best place in Machynlleth

The Godfrey Morgan

Victoria, Newport
25/01/2020: No fish again, on fish night !, this is a regular occurrence. Also the environment Is great till about 8:30 when the heating goes off &the; aircon comes on, this has been happening for a long while now.
08/01/2020: Called here for a late lunch one afternoon, the prices are very competative and tremendous value for money, you get what you pay for, good honest pub Grub.

Pizza Hut Swansea

Bonymaen, Swansea
15/01/2020: Very helpful staff, had a minor issue with the order and they were really professional and quickly resolved the issue. Food was tasty and very good value
05/01/2020: We all fancied a pizza so I treated the wife and kids to PH. Waitress was lovely, drinks were cold and refreshing and the food was spot on. Pizza was fresh and hot. Salad bar was full and fresh. The store was clean and had a fantastic atmosphere. Must of been around 30 people in there but our waitress was whizzing around here and there but still found time to check on us and say hello to my 1yr old. Fantastic.

Pizza Hut

Offa, Wrexham
29/12/2019: Greeted by the host who managed a small smile. The waitress arrived to take our order, she was very helpful with my granddaughters meal as she has allergies.
23/11/2019: Food was nice although it took time for the pizzas and pasta to be put out and only a few varieties it wasn't till we we're leaving others were put out. Service wasn't great we weren't asked if the food was ok and we had to find a server to order desert.
