The best restaurants serving Other european-cuisines food in Yorkshire and The Humber

I booked afternoon tea here as a valentines gift for my wife. To be clear and fair here; I’m not a fan of afternoon tea at all - I think it’s a very expensive meal for what you usually get. But my wife loves it and I wanted to treat her as part of our long weekend in Yorkshire. This hotel is lovely from what we saw, it’s beautifully decorated, it’s very clean, and the staff are friendly, but our meal was very disappointing. We were the only people in the entire dining area which seemed a little odd, but at least we had privacy. Our choices of actual tea were made (English breakfast for me and gingerbread chai for my wife) and these were delicious. But, and it’s a very big But; the food was very disappointing. Salmon sandwiches and chicken sandwiches both a bit underwhelming but palatable, but a tiny croissant filled with a minuscule amount of ham and cheese and a pot of very cold ratatouille with 2 cubes of feta cheese on the top which was revolting and just weird! Then the desserts - some quite nice pastries but the highlight of any afternoon tea should be the scones and they were quite frankly terrible. The fruit scones were both absolutely rock hard on one side so slicing them was a joke because you just couldn’t get your knife past half way through! Definitely not fresh scones (possibly frozen and reheated?) Nobody asked us if we were enjoying our food and it wasn’t until I paid that I was able to point out our disappointment. I was told it would be passed back to the kitchen…. Would we go again? Definitely not for afternoon tea that’s for sure.

Quick and easy.Service very professional and polite.

Location is fantastic and we've been a few times last week in sun. You can take bbqs and swim. It's a bit murky and I didn't swim but everyone else does. Pubs a good pub too decent prices and atmosphere. They have a jug of water on bar too which is a really good touch. Didn't eat at the pub. Old gaming machine too with spot the difference ect. Throwback

Wasn't until I ordered and paid that I was informed that they were out of the item I ordered. Had to pick something else that I didn't want, got attitude when I asked for a refund on my sides - no, I don't want chips and gravy with a rice bowl. Ridiculously overpriced for what I ended up with.

Nice atmosphere very busy nicely decorated had cappuccino hubby had sticky toffee biscoff I had carrot cake spotless staff lovely

This place is unbelievable trust me sandwich are fantastic go out there way to help you excellent service excellent food wow from the lady who has bean juice only on her spam lol thanks a million Anita...

The Cosmopolitan is being refurbished, last time we were there for a Wedding, the food was sumptuous and the staff were friendly and helpful, we were entertained by The Chris White Jazz Trio who added a touch of class

Franco es performance art. Estar en casa de Franco es entrar en una comedia, puedes ser un extra o jugar un papel principal... la elección es tuya.
