Had the most delicious lunch here. Served promptly and politely. If a restaurant can serve a good creme brulee then that is the sign of an excellent eating establishment. Fig and Olive did t that, and more. Highly recommend!

I proposed to my partner in one of the pods on the rooftop and the service we received was incredible. I spoke to Jordyn in advance who was extremely accommodating ensuring everything was just as I had hoped. Furthermore, the front of house staff on the day were extremely helping. Really appreciate all the help

I’ve always loved Mem & Laz, I’ve been going here since I was a kid. I couldn’t say the same for this visit though. We had come for a birthday lunch for My mum, the food was alright, I was not happy about being served frozen potatoes. The customer service was appalling, we had waited a while to be served and for our food to come out. The staff were very rude and made us feel uncomfortable at points during our meal. They had also messed up our order and brought the wrong food out. I’ve had better service at a busier dinner service there! At the end of our meal, I had asked for the service charge to be reduced by half, because I didn’t believe that the service that we had received did amount to that price. The staff member was very rude and said that I “had” to pay the service charge by full. I did try to explain that I wasn’t obliged to pay the service charge but the staff member was very argumentative and I didn’t want to cause any unnecessary problems. I’m very disappointed and upset about this, considering that every time I’ve visited mem and laz, it has been such a wonderful experience.

Tuvimos una muy mala experiencia de espera. Nosotros, junto con una docena de personas, nos vimos obligados a pararnos en el estrecho camino de entrada para esperar nuestra mesa. Esperamos 25 minutos mientras el ‘maitre d’ nos ignoraba vigorosamente y 4 mesas arriba se quedaron vacías y había un montón de espacio vacío abajo. La comida, cuando conseguimos la mesa, estaba buena, pero no volvimos porque no tuvimos disculpas por hacernos esperar innecesariamente.

Like the previous review, we too booked online (on 28th June) and arrived yesterday to find the new owners up to their ears in decorating. They were most apologetic, but Quandoo are still taking bookings. BEWARE!

Someone on Google reviews said this has moved to 330 Upper street. I went, it’s not the same. More expensive but smaller portions, poorer service and not as good quality. 1 hot and 2 salads £9.50. 3 salads £6.50. You don’t get a hot side with hot main here and the portions are small. Unfortunately it wasn’t any where near as good :-( I wont be visiting the KOD on upper street again. Bring love La Valle back

Exmouth market is spoiled for eaterys, this has been here for a long time and keeps it traditional - friendly service with plenty of space so you dont feel like you are on top of the table next to you...

only been there during lunch. Very good mix grill and mix meze. Nice ambience with a touch of class. lunch time normally quiet.

Loved this place the cocktail is amazing - i would recomend the mixed grill sharing platter - its got a bit of everything and the portion is huge and the service is really good. I will be returning for sure :-)

Vivíamos en Newington Green y nos quedamos muy contentos de ver que había un restaurante como 56 que ofrece una variedad de comidas diferentes y que parecía agradable y acogedor por dentro. Probamos un par de veces y eran realmente decepcionado con la calidad de la comida o realmente impresionados. No parece muy coherente. Lo que era la camarera muy coherente que nos sirve muy educado en todo momento.

El personal era espeluznante y la comida parecía un poco sombría. No confiaría en este lugar más de lo que podría tirar la pierna de kebab colgando detrás del mostrador.

Such a great bar. Really well run. Great design - the kind of place John Milton from Devil's Advocate would love. Friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious pizza. Even if we move to a new office, it'll remain our local :)

Extremely busy due to the unexpected March sunshine but the food was still top notch. My chicken roast was incredible and the dish pictured was the best aubergine in years. They easily dealt with gluten free and dairy free. Could probably have used a few more staff to deal with the deluge of people but they were all pleasant under pressure

Great Food, Fabulous cocktails and wonderful service. We didn't notice that the bill was slightly wrong due to the till updating but the waiter quickly realised and informed us and refunded us immediately - How wonderful that he was so honest and so apologetic with it !!!
