Este es uno de mis lugares favoritos para comer en Upper Street y está allí con uno de los mejores restaurantes turcos que he estado nunca. Me encanta estar aquí.

I stopped by Antepliler for a quick lunch, I was with my partner and we were the only ones in the restaurant as it was quite early. We were attended to immediately but were equally left in peace to choose our drinks and food. I chose the Antep special kebab and my girlfriend chose the chicken shish. Both mains were absolutely delightful, the meat was perfectly cooked, very juicy and packed with flavour. The bulgur rice was first class too, truly delicious. The salads were also very fresh. The prices were very fair and service was excellent. Not much more to say apart from honestly saying that I will most definitely be returning!

Food took an hour to prepare, when we complained the waiters attitude was like so what, didn't provide any explanation. They ran out of sides for the main dishes and instead got us a a dressing as a replacement when we said that's not acceptable then only they changed it. They don't seem to be at all concerned about customer satisfaction when I asked for a dish that didn't taste good to be replaced they never asked why and tried to charge us even though we hadn't eat it. Overall not a nice experience you can tell they are under staffed but that's not something customers should be suffering from as consequences. Resturant business is quite competitive in this area and they need to improve a lot.

4.5 stars - if I go back and I feel the same way about different dishes as well, I'll bump this up.We made reservations for a Saturday night around 8 pm. It didn't seem entirely necessary because there wasn't a long wait, but it doesn't hurt. This place can get very crowded and better to be safe than sorry. Most tables were full and by the time we left, there was still a full house. We were between several dishes, but we decided to go with the Sogan (onion) Kebab. Neither one of us had ever had this before as it's not commonly found on Turkish menus. It's a regional specialty. The dish is kofte (meatballs) and shallots slow-cooked in a pomegranate sauce. The dish is served with rice. A few notes about the dish. There were about 8 pieces of kofte, but these were not traditional koftes. They were very tiny and you could tell they had been cooked on a skewer (as the kebab name implies) because they had skewer holes. There were more shallots than koftes, maybe ten or so. The pomegranate sauce was brothy, light, and had a hint of sweetness where the pomegranate flavor came in. If you didn't know it was pomegranate, you probably would not be able to tell. But the overall flavour of the broth and the dish is amazing. It's powerful, but not overwhelming - still light at the same time - and not too sweet. Garnish of one grilled green pepper and half of a grilled tomato as traditionally comes with Turkish meals. The dish is served with a side of rice that is amply buttered and has chickpeas as well. The dish of rice is way too small for the meal, particularly with the sauce. We had to order a second, which was pretty expensive for such a small side.We also ordered the traditional shepherd salad with diced cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and parsley. This was small portion, but big enough for two people to share as a side. The meals are served with a complimentary basket of flatbread. It's pretty good quality and soft. It's a great pairing with the dishes, particularly to soak up extra sauces or if you order some of the mezes. The ambiance is nice, although not as authentic as some of the other Turkish restaurants in the area. It's a bit more modern and it's roomier. Not as dimly lit and not as spirited, but more peaceful. It depends on the vibe you're going for. I'm excited to go back and try some other dishes. Would highly recommend this place.

Four of us shared the meze, lots of variety and plenty of tasty elements all with flat bread. For mains I had the special kebab, a huge selection of meats and poultry, all superbly cooked, moist and flavoursome, and very filling. With soft drinks the bill was about £20/head, I will happily return.

We've been in Antepliler twice before. On our third visit, we have been with our friends who never ate kebap in North London. It was a fantastic experience for them. They called Antepliler as meat heaven which is true I believe. They are cooking the best lahmacun I ever eat. We been 4 adults and 2 children. Large mixed kebap deal with mezze was more than enough for 4 of us. Kids wanted their own simple choices. I would advise the management to decrease number of mezze on that specific deal and increase the amount of meat instead. They are offering complimentary salads and tea. Turkish waiters are impeccable, attentive and fast but unfortunately the non Turkish speakers couldn't compete with them due the lack of understanding of menu. Antapliler doesn't accept reservations and you should be ready to wait for a while on busy time but it's worth it.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to go to on upper street and came across this place as we fancied Turkish. The decor was really nice, soon as we walked in the waiter escorted us to our table and brought olives and bread with chilli sauce which I thought was really nice. We then ordered our food but waited around 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. We ordered the mixed grill and manti for me. When the food come 30 minutes later we was slightly disappointed as the portions were quite small. Once we finished the waiter came and took our plates and was shocked that my boyfriend had finished his plate of food which I thought was funny because I could have even finished that. The food wasn't tasty and the manti which is dumpling with yoghurt and butter sauce was a little undercooked as it was still tough. Other than the decor there was nothing special about this place. I don't think I will be returning. I highly recommend they recruit some more staff as we had to wait ages to place an order and to pay for the food.

I often visit Antepliler (Islington) when I want to something quick, easy, and tasty. The food is often very well seasoned; its good value for money; and the decor is nice. It's probably equally good for couples as it is for larger groups. The only downside are the staff; there are usually only 2 people serving for the entire restaurant (and there should definitely be about 3 or 4) so that's probably why they rarely smile. All in all - really quite good for a local go-to restaurant.

I wouldn't normally mind this but we were the only people in the restaurant at the time! Our main course (mixed grill) came and it was tasteless! We also ordered a salad with our main course but it never appeared. However, it did appear on the bill later on.My biggest complaint is about the service from the staff, they just looked miserable, All Of Them!!! They made us very uncomfortable!!! We saw on Trip Advisor that this restaurant was ranked well. Four of my friends went on a weekday after work, and the place was all but deserted (the coffee shop next door had a better atmosphere). Food was substandard. We ordered starters and a few of us ordered hummus and when it arrived there was no bread. We asked for some and between us three were given one small basket, and that too reluctantly. I don't even remember what I had for mains. I could just about eat mines, but for the price it was tasteless. I could get better, tastier and cheaper Turkish food elsewhere. What also let it down was the service! Maybe its not always like this and we just had one bad experience, but the waiter had no patience. I asked for the waiter to come back as I had not decided on a main. He all but rolled his eyes at me and came back 2 mins later, rushing me to make my decision.I will say though that the interior and the actual feel of the place was good!!If you want to try it and go with the other reviews, go for it. Not my cup of tea though unfortunately.

We had the mezzes- hot and veg which were very plentiful. I would have liked and expected a little more meat on the hot one and for the items to be hotter but it was a wide range and generously portoined. The veg one was the same without the single lamb kofta and liver- which was not much in the way of meat. Possibly the whole set meals are a better bet- more exciting and show off Turkish food better as the mezze had items which are now pretty standard for all of us.However very nice service, lovely interior- possibly the music could be quieter.

I've been to this restaurant a couple of times and it's always an interesting choice if I'm out in the Islington area. I don't think it's any disrespect to this restaurant in particular to say that the experience is average. There is nothing wrong with the food, service or ambience.I just think that Turkish food, while flavoursome, can often be slightly one-dimensional, not that versatile in terms of cooking method or texture and therefore quite simple, and sometimes a bit dry (a lot of the food is grilled or barbecued), whereas I like to dine out to try foods and ways of cooking that are a bit different and that I wouldn't cook at home and that offer me some new flavours and experiences.

Visited here more than once and never disappointed. If you've exposure to Turkish/Middle Eastern cuisine before, it's easy to choose, otherwise ask recommendations of staff, they're helpful and friendly. Mezes are nice as the main dishes, ask a couple of sharing platters as starter. For a truly authentic experience go for raki- an uozo / pastise like anise spirit- in ice covered glasses. Desserts are still above average, give it a try but don't expect the same taste as in Turkey. This is a real quality restaurant with the food, service and decor, good at price/quality. Not to be confused with a kebab fast food.

We've made the trek to Green Lanes several times to go to Antepliler now, and it never lets us down. Go in the evening on a weekend and you might have to queue - and it'll be a tight squeeze when you do get a table, but it's worth it. Seats aren't particularly comfortable and it's quite warm (heat radiating from the kitchen can be quite intense) but you're not reading this because you're considering going to Green Lanes because you fancied a place with lots of luxury and terrible food, are you?The food is simple enough to describe: mostly standard Turkish fare - the cig kofte, hummus, borek and kebabs are all perfectly adequate. But look around at the (mostly Turkish) clientele and you'll realise you're the only ones ploughing through kebabs. Those who know stick to just a couple of things: the lahmacun and the pide.Pide are thick, bready Turkish pizzas and are delicious. But the lahmacun are the stars of the show. At the entrance is a production line of people shovelling them into an enormous kiln by the bucketload. They don't look like much: a thin dough base with a mean-looking smear of meat sauce on top. Don't be fooled. They are comfort food extraordinare, light as anything and tasty as hell. Pop in a little salad and lemon juice, roll them up and eat with your fingers. It's what everyone else is doing. Once we were sat next to a guy on his own who ordered six of them - he ate three and put the others in a box to take home. The lahmacun are also unbelievably good value.Top tip: afterwards walk 5 minutes down the road to Yasar Halim (495 Green Lanes) for a huge selection of Turkish breads and pastries (yes, the baklava are superb).

We booked this restaurant for a special family meal, having read the great reviews...It was a mistake! We were sat on the table at the back which didn't have any light, and soon got very dark (we had to ask for candles to see our food!) We were also out of sight, so it took ages to get served each time. All of which we accepted..after all we had high hopes for the food. Oh dear. When the food came out, it was cold. Every one of our dishes had gone cold- and awkwardly, but neccessarily we asked to send them back. This is when things really took a turn. If looks could kill, I wouldn't be writing this! The waiter was clearly not impressed and there was much huffing and puffing, but eventually he took them away, whilst we waited 25 minutes for them to come back. During which time there were obviously lots of arguments amongst the staff. They were not having a good night! When we eventually asked to see the manager (the food was ages, service was being downgraded to dire) we were told that he didn't want to speak to us...And that we'd 'be given warm food, what more did we want'- this is an actual quote! We were all stunned- we had choosen that restaurant for a special family gathering and as well as the food being a bitter disappointment, the customer service was the most absymal I had ever known. Perhaps this is a great place if everything goes ok, but if it doesn't, expect a metaphorical slap in the face in the way of customer service, and some really very average food.

They specialise in Antep regional food (as reflected in the restaurant name) characterised by rich and tasty flavours. The complimentary bread and chili dip was excellent as was the mixed meze starter, perfect for three people. The Lahmacun (Turkish pizza) was exceptional and the Adana Kofte subtly spiced with a moderate pepper kick. Turkish coffees as they should be. Service friendly yet unobtrusive. We shall be returning.

First went here on a late rainy night hungry for some good food! Went on a recommendation from a Turkish friend and are happy we did.. The place was packed (as it is every time we now walk past) and the food was amazing... Fresh, tasty, very good value for money and a great atmosphere. We liked it so much we went back for New Years Eve, which was the same menu, same prices and same great food :)This is now a firm favourite of ours and we have been back countless times, always enjoying our meal. Tips for food; order lots and share. Our favourites include; lamb or chicken shish, hummus, tzatziki, aubergine in tomato sauce is amazing! Halloumi equally so!We will definitely be back again soon...

This Turkish restaurant is a worthy rival to the three Gallipolis on Upper Street. On the Saturday we visited, we were able to walk in at around 7.15pm and reserve a table for two at 8.00pm, so perhaps the word has yet to fully get out about the place. It was certainly busy, but (unlike the Gallipolis) not hectic and not particularly noisy. The food was excellent. The complimentary bread and chilli dip were delicious. We decided to skip on starters and go straight on to a main dish each: chargrilled lamb pirzola (ie, lamb chops) and Ali Nazik (diced lamb and bell peppers with strained yoghurt on a bed of mashed smoked aubergine). Both very tasty and to be recommended. Just one minor gripe: the service could have been a bit quicker, as I felt that the lamb chops on my plate could have been a bit hotter (in the temperature sense) when put in front of me.We will definitely return and try other dishes on the menu.By the way, I am a fan of the Gallipolis (and, for that matter, Pasha). More competition should hopefully keep all the restaurants on top of their game.

I went there with my girlfriend and my parents on New Year's Day. We were basically strolling upper street to scope out a place to eat. After looking in the window of about 7 places we chose Antepliler because of the amazing Time Out review (which may I add gave the place 4 stars!) displayed in the window. After the lady sat us down we were given some delicious bread to eat with a chilli based dip but unfortunately this is where the fun stopped. We waited 30 minutes for our food and when it came mine there was only 3 plates instead of 4. So I had to sit through 5 minutes of everyone else eating while I waited for mine. My mum and girlfriend had the mixed meze which was all completely bland and tasteless. Sounds harsh but everyone tried it and agreed. My dad had some type of diced lamb dish (forgot the name) and it was quite tasty however the "diced lamb" turned out to be more like meatballs. It tasted ok but the we were all expecting DICED lamb. As for me my dish called Ali nazir or something similar...it was also supposed to be a diced lamb dish but my lamb was shredded and was very fatty. It was served on top of a huge portion of yogurt and that came with a tiny amount if rice in a separate bowl. Very strange combination. I mean of course Turkish food includes rice and yogurt but that combination was very bizarre...especially considering there were no vegetables whatsoever. I think they are trying to hard to be "quirky" and are forgetting to earthy. That is about the only thing they are trying hard with though. The people serving us(there were 3 different waiters serving us at different times) were miserable. Maybe they were hungover from New Years ever? Who knows. They slammed plates down on our tables. The bill came to £54. Not outrageous but definitely overpriced for what was offered. Will NEVER even think about returning and I hope I have done my bit to prevent you from even considering going there. We all felt kind of deceived from the Time Out review so I wanted to do my bit to counter act it.

This is a lovely, but quite small restaurant - suggest a table reservation would be a must, particularly at the weekend. I went with with family on a Saturday night, and even though it was very busy, the service was perfect and the food excellent. Highly recommended is their Mixed Hot Meze and also their Manti - lovely stuffed pasta dish with a tomato and yoghurt sauce. Their Baklava is not to missed either!!

Having found Antepliler from Time Out London website, we were not sure what was waiting for us; but it turned to be a nice choice. We did not book but walked in on a Sunday afternoon, however we were able to find a table as it was too late for lunch and too early for dinner. The food was good enough to satisfy our homesick turkish taste buds and the prices were decent. We saw people from different nationalities dining there; a very crowded Russian family was feasting on pide (turkish pizzas), a number of white british tables were having kebabs and us eating as much as we can! The staff is very polite, and the restaurant is clean and well looked after. I would recommend booking for dinner as there were no tables available when we were leaving.

We returned to Antepliler on a recent visit to London, having first eaten there 18 months previously. The return trip did not disappoint - it was as good as we remembered. We didn't have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in (the restaurant was very busy by 6:30 on Sunday evening and only got busier as the evening went on). We knew that the portion sizes were very generous so skipped a starter this time, ordering chicken shish and the veggie plate. We were treated to complimentary bread, dip and olives whilst we waited for our main course, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the music and opulent decor. The food was piping hot when it arrived and delicious. The veggie plate was a tasty platter of various hot and cold dishes and the chicken shish was served with all kinds of accompaniments, too. The bill, with a glass of wine and a soft drink came to around £30 which we thought represented very good value. We had paid £50 at Jamie's Italian the night before and for us there was no contest. We'll definitely be back!

Had a lovely evening with friends at Antepliler. The portions are tasty and generous, nice simple fare, lightly spiced. The service was fine and and I liked the fact the wine list was decent and inexpensive. Surprisingly the vegetarian options(not for me) looked excellent.

This is a great place for a reasonably priced Turkish meal. Starters are interesting and varied - lovely spicy Turkish sausages, good salads, houmous etc. Mains are pretty substantial - great char grilled lamb or chicken.....really fresh and succulent with good accompaniments (my lamb with tomato sauce and rice was simple, but very tasty). Desserts rather limited.....good baklava, but as per a previous review, rather weird stringy ice cream. Prices are pretty reasonable for Upper Street - mains are £10 - £14 and they don't stint on the portion size. Service was the let-down.....initially great, but got increasingly strained. They were very busy on a Saturday night with several huge parties (the waitress said it was like this most Saturdays) and did seem to forget us as the evening went on........but I guess that is just about excusable - it is very popular and the food is generally excellent.

I went to Antepliler restaurant with my mum last night as I know a couple of people who have been there and have said the food isn't bad but staff are not very aware of what is going on. The decor was nice and we fancied some turkish cuisine, so i thought let's give it a go.What a waste of £30.00 pounds, we only had a main and a soft drink, so already quite expensive. The service was terrible and the waiter who gave us our bill decided that it would be a good idea to take my mums debit card away from the table as oppose to bringing the cordless card machine to the table, so i had to call him back. The food was not very warm and the lamb dishes which both my mum and I had were very fatty and the meat was very pink. The kofte which my mum also had on her plate i had to send back as it was raw inside and tasted horrid. I asked a waiter to take it away and get us a cooked bit. So rather than taking the whole plate away, the waiter picked up the kofte and took it away on a seperate plate and then returned it again still uncooked. It tasted vile. PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER GOING HERE, AWFUL FOOD AND NO DECENT STAFF TRAINING. There are so many nice restaurants in upper street that you really do not need to bother with this one.

We've been to this restaurant several times. It's delightful. The decor is stylish. It specialises in Antep regional Turkish food. Try the Occe starter of parskey and red pepper fritters served with strained yoghurt. For the main course I'd recommend Ali Nazik - Lamb diced with peppers mixed with strained yoghurt on a bed of mashed smoked aubergine. The baklava is great but the ice cream is weird. Seems to have some sort of additive that makes it have a chewy texture. The coffee is excellent.

Overall this place was an enjoyable experience.Did not enjoy being seated next to a group of young people on the next large table. Not worth complaining, but lack of thought to a single customer. Other single diners were better placed and alone, but still in their office suits.Excellent food, humous starter, mixed kebab of varied meats by definition and had no room for a sweet although, as usual, baklava was very tempting. If only they had asked about a seating preference it would have been relaxed.

I love Turkish food and have eaten the best and worst in London at some time. I will definitely eat here again and again, they make the stereotypical dishes fresh and flavourful, superb hummus, wonderful aubergine meze. Generous portions. Vegetarians will be spoilt for choice. They have a good selection of wine by the glass. The service was friendly and neiher brisk nor slack. Only caution, if you order the ice cream - it will be authentic Turkish style, a bit chewy and an acquired taste.
