Crystal Palace in Islington

Staff are dreadful , be prepared to be ripped off. Food is fine but staff have poor attitude . If you’re a young blonde woman or male of Turkish origin you’ll be warmly welcomed and lots of extras provided for free . If you’re just a normal London be prepared to be ripped off - you won’t get the advertised price . Such a shame , used to be a great place to visit

Gorgeous authentic Turkish food and lots of vegetarian -yummy cous cous. It's delicious and excellent prices. Friendly staff. Good portions. Excellent value. Have eaten here many times.

You can’t go wrong with the full menu of middle eastern delicacies on offer here. I’m a big Doner/Shawarma fan and this is the best in the area. Fast and efficient service, and well priced.

Was with friends driving late at night in the area and we were all starving so my friend said this is the best place near here I tried the Alana kebab very tasty it was too. Slightly messy to eat but really hit the spot late at night. Recommended

Supermarket, independent shops, restaurants, coffee shops, two train stations and, of course, the wonderful Crystal Palace park with the boating lake, maze, farm, dinosaurs, play area, sports stadium and historical ruins.

Make no mistake, Crystal Palace offers flavoursome food at a price arguably cheaper than most and more importantly its served with a smile. I have scanned a number of the other reviews and its fair to say, and having been to this 'Turkish Delight' a handful of times, on all occasions I received a warm welcome and greeting on arrival. The menu much like the portions sizes served here, is generous and plentiful. Its well thought through, with those picky people being well catered for with colourful combos and sharing options for those in groups. Oh and for those literary challenged its in pictures. The choice on hand ranges from grilled meats, donor kebabs, meze plates, hamburgers to traditional deserts/sweets and everything in between. All of which range in price from 4 - 10 pounds. If there is one thing that stands out among many positives here is the portion sizes. To put it bluntly The Crystal Palace will not leave you going hungry for the day if you plan to stop by for lunch. Whilst the restaurant eating environment feels somewhat like your mums kitchen on a saturday night with a bunch of tables filled with party seated side by side. Its this alone that makes this kind of food dining experience what it is - 'Traditional Turkish Cuisine - Home Made and 'Served by the Family whose Home it is'. Enjoy one the best value Turkish meals of your life at the Crystal Palace.

It used to be the only place in the area that would reliably serve a late night kebab. Now, their quality and value for money has slipped while nearby competition seems to try harder. The advantage here is that you can have a sit-down as well as a take-away. If you'd like to find an authentic Turkish restaurant, travel the 2.5 miles to Green Lanes where the Cypriot Turkish community and its neighbours enjoy a vast choice of top-notch (usually packed) Turkish restaurants.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Though this restaurant looks more like a take-away place with a couple of tables inside rather than a proper restaurant, the atmosphere is very vibrant and the food is absolutely delicious. When I first walked into Crystal, I did it mainly because I had noticed that it seemed extremely busy nearly all the time. Whenever I was walking home from work, I could always see through the window that it was packed with people. I thought all those people had to eat there for a reason. So I decided to give it a go and I wasn't disappointed at all. I have been a regular customer ever since. Now Crystal has clearly become my favourite Turkish restaurant in North London. The food is very tasty, the portions are huge and the prices are more than reasonable. Their members of staff are very friendly, helpful and always smiling. Try their lentils soup and their lamb chops! Absolutely amazing! P.S.: There are two Crystal restaurants on Holloway Road, 10 meters away from each other, on the same side of the road. My review is for Crystal Restaurant, not for Crystal Salonu. I haven't tried the other one yet. However, since it's the same owner and nearly the same menu, I suppose I won't be disappointed when I decide to try it out.

the staff members in this restaurant are rude, awful and have a problem with attitude. Their attitude literally stinks. one of the staff shouted at me because i told him this is not my order , i asked for chicken doner with no lattice because i am allergic , then he shouted at me saying 'you didn't say no lattice. my friend defused the problem and the argument by buying unwanted doner !!!

Esto no sólo es otro lugar kebab turco y aunque la parrilla es excelente los verdaderos tesoros se encuentran en los otros artículos en oferta en el menú. no hay una abundancia a elegir pero son claramente que va de calidad en vez de calidad. La sopa lentejas al es increíble como es la chuleta sopa con yogur. También la lachmajun y pide, tanto recién horneados en un enorme horno de arcilla en la entrada era justo. Los boreks son ligeramente inconsistente, pero cuando fresco son los mejores de Londres. hemos vuelto varias veces y me pareció tanto la comida y el servicio eran excelente y teniendo en cuenta lo barato está todo, es increíble valor.

I have been to Crystal lahamacun and pide salon half a dozen times and thought I should write a review about it because it cheers me up so much on a cold winters day. It is a no fuss Turkish restaurant with reasonable prices and great food! I recently came back from turkey and think that Crystal is as good if not better than most of the best I had whilst there. Service is basic but efficient, atmosphere ( I think ) is good, being on a bustling holloway street corner and food amazing! I will return man times before I leave London

Having just moved into the area and having just come back from Turkey, we went in investigate Crystal this weekend.. yum! seriously!... the food is very tasty, authentic and delicious.. the price is really reasonable too ! :) The Dolma was awesome !

Having visited Turkey numerous times, and enjoyed the beautiful country, culture and cuisine over there. Its always difficult to to get the same level of quality outside of Turkey, Crystal Restaurant on Holloway Road, London, is simply outstanding and as good as going to a high end restaurant in Turkey itself. I live around 60 miles from London, and when my friends visit, we make the drive just for the quality of food we get at Crystals.The food, the service and the cost is unbeatable. I love the kebabs, and the delicious dinners that are always freshly made and on display in the window. They have now a pizzeria/lamachun restaurant next door which is spotless and brand new, the pizza type delicacy (lamachun) is lovely and extremely palatable.They open till very late/early hours of the morning, and have noticed a mixed class of clientele who all enjoy the excellent food. Crystals is a takeaway and restaurant which is spotless and clean, with excellent facilities for families.10 out of 10

and I've eater a lot of kababs.Crystal is open very long hours and whatever time of day or night you go in it is busy, both eat in and take away. Even the local coppers eat there!Lamb straight off the charcoal grill is a personal favourite.
