Superb food and friendly staff. Booked a table for 7 plus 2 dogs and requested breakfast, even though we were due to arrive shortly after midday. The Full Breakfast was fantastic, as well as the falafel wrap and salad. The dogs were treated to free dog treats and supplied with fresh water. This was our second visit to the cafe and certainly won't be our last.

called in to grab something to take home for lunch. Evans is ‘famous ‘ for its Chelsea buns so grabbed one and a savoury roll.Service prompt but no hint of a smile ,don’t know if the lady serving was having a bad life(always had this style of service from her for a number of years) Really off putting-failed charm school obviously then to add the icing on top of this bitter cake the Chelsea bun dry and stale whilst the chicken roll full of cranberry sauce and very very little meat.My advice shop elsewhere-better service, better quality and can use cards as Evans only take cash under £5 sales(not convenient at times)

I have been to the Oriel Cafe before in fact quite a few times but mostly morning and lunch time. Today myself and my aunty of 83 called in at 3.35. i asked if they were shutting and she said at 4pm. I then thanked her and ordered tea and a coffee. The whole time it was an unpleasant experience she cleary didnt want to serve me. Admittedly the reason was in the middle of the room sitting around a table were her friends or family? The drinks were thrown down with no eye contact or any words spoken. It was an unpleasant experience as up till then had always told people to call in if they were in Newtown. wont be going again and will not be recommending. Such a young girl but really does need to learn customer service is with a smile!

I have always rated Morrisons Newtown but my experience this time was the worst I have ever had. On arrival helped myself to a pot of tea and headed for the till to order my meal. Asked for fish and chips. Sorry no fish and chip ? Ok Steak pie them please Sorry no steak pie Heck what's happening here today ? Ok I will have a burger then Sorry we are not doing burgers today. Really? How about braised beef then ? Sorry not got that either. We can do sausage and mash ! No let's just forget it ( at this point a lady shouts out it's because we have no staff ) This was a Wednesday lunch time around 1.30. Basically they only had breakfast items. The cafe at this store is usually excellent. Not sure what has gone wrong. While the lady said that were short staffed there seemed to be at least three people working. So I left hungry but stopped at Aberystwyth who also had no fish and chips but did have my second choice. It seems to me that standards are falling at Morrisons since the Americans have taken over.

When you go at lunchtime you expect there to be food. No pizza, shelves empty and when you ask you are told it’s all cooking. Surely you know when lunch time is and therefore you cook it so that it’s ready for lunch. Not even any baguettes ready. Such a shame!

usually really good service. delivery is always fast and the food is usually great. ordered the usual today (my partner gets a small doner meat and chips with just coleslaw and I get the same with lettuce and mayo) we always have the same thing. tonighty partners came with everything on top, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, everything. he doesn't like everything and it's not what he ordered so he called up to explain the mistake, whoever was on the phone did not sound like who we usually talk to and was very rude and blamed my partner

Recently visited here for breakfast with my family. The restaurant is small in terms of space and I can imagine if everyone had a trolley it would be hectic and cramped. Service was really good, couldn’t fault it at all. Food So, my boys and me both ordered the big breakfast, it was lovely presentation and given your in a supermarket cafe the food itself was lovely. My wife had scrambled eggs on toast which she said was lovely, the scrambled eggs didn’t look watery at all. Downside The only downside I have for the cafe is that the branded drinks are expensive, £1.09 for a can of Coke Zero to me is expensive. Overall we loved it and will definitely be back again
