The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Newtown East Powys Mid Wales

Superb food and friendly staff. Booked a table for 7 plus 2 dogs and requested breakfast, even though we were due to arrive shortly after midday. The Full Breakfast was fantastic, as well as the falafel wrap and salad. The dogs were treated to free dog treats and supplied with fresh water. This was our second visit to the cafe and certainly won't be our last.

Six of us for Sunday lunch. We had a great time. The waitresses were really good, the meal was able portion and really tastie. Would recommend. That's Kerry lamb team

Food is always freshly made, owners are very nice and polite & worth every penny! Would highly recommend the chicken souvlaki, its delicious!

This place has the most amazing chelsea buns you will ever taste! They are a bit overpriced- £1.50, but they are quite big. Great bakery, they used to do breakfast but since COVID they have stopped.

I have been to the Oriel Cafe before in fact quite a few times but mostly morning and lunch time. Today myself and my aunty of 83 called in at 3.35. i asked if they were shutting and she said at 4pm. I then thanked her and ordered tea and a coffee. The whole time it was an unpleasant experience she cleary didnt want to serve me. Admittedly the reason was in the middle of the room sitting around a table were her friends or family? The drinks were thrown down with no eye contact or any words spoken. It was an unpleasant experience as up till then had always told people to call in if they were in Newtown. wont be going again and will not be recommending. Such a young girl but really does need to learn customer service is with a smile!

I go into Costa in newtown powys 3 or more times a week the staff is always jolly and happy and is extremely friendly they keep the place clean and tidy and the service is remarkably good. I am disabled and on a mobility scooter and all the staff goes out off there way to help me any way they can. But I have to say that I read a bad review and and was very annoyed with the comment made about it being unkept sometime they may have to in a queue when more people come in at the same time. But they serve them and if they are sitting in they sit and the staff will bring it to them and always apologise for the wait but you have to wait anywhere you go if they are busy at times. All I can say is to the staff is carry on with the great job you all are doing and keep smiling 😃

Great stay, good location for motorbike rides from and back to the hotel. Just a shame the restaurant was closed till further notice, but it's not a huge issue as there are several other places to eat within walking distance.

Called for Christmas dinner, really disappointing. The two plastic looking slices of turkey were tasteless, roast potatoes dry and one was not cooked through, pigs in blankets ok, sprouts good, very little other veg, I think I had one carrot and the gravy was like water. Took 25 minutes to arrive and the cafe was so cold that I was shivering even in a winter coat. The poor girl on the till/waiting tables and helping with the food was stressed and run off her feet therefore the service was abrupt. Come on Morrisons pull your finger out.

When you go at lunchtime you expect there to be food. No pizza, shelves empty and when you ask you are told it’s all cooking. Surely you know when lunch time is and therefore you cook it so that it’s ready for lunch. Not even any baguettes ready. Such a shame!

Very pleasant staff. Even while training new members. Food lovely. Varied menu. Not seen Shakshuka in a tescos caf before. Good tesco own band brown sauce..

As always top notch food with amazing taste, best kebab in newtown no doubt! Highly recommend their donner meat and chips. I get food atleast once a week from here.
