Had a lovely stay here. Beautiful room. Bed was extremely comfy. Breakfast was spot on. Couldn't fault the place. Would highly recommend.

Outstanding accommodation! We really could not fault the room , it was so welcoming, cosy and of a very high standard . The complimentary chocolates and strawberries were a lovely gesture.... thankyou ! A good choice of teas and coffees and also some bathroom extras, very thoughtful indeed! Went here because of high ratings on TripAdvisor but disappointed. Rather cool greeting from younger woman was salvaged by warmer service from older woman. Very helpful gluten free information. Avocado on toast was delicious but we’d ordered chips which didn’t arrive. After a reminder they came out after we’d finished the light bites. They had been refried, certainly not freshly made! Also, chip oil needs cleaning! Staff in kitchen seemed to have plenty of time on their hands, clearly visible sitting on the work surface when the waitresses used the kitchen door. Nothing that a refresher on training couldn’t put right. Very nice layout inside and great menu choice. Nice tea and coffee.

Parker’s Cafe in Newtown, Powys, is a wonderful place to visit if your staying in Powys or just passing through, it’s a relaxing place to have a meal, chat or just meeting up with friends, the staff are friendly, the food is to die for, (not literally of course), but you know what I mean. So why next time your passing through our little town of Newtown, why not call in and have a drink in comfort or to have a bite to eat, you won’t be disappointed.

Really good lunch and plenty of it- lasagne, salad and chips. All very tasty. Pleasant helpful staff.

The hot chocolate is delicious and the sausage sandwich is now my new benchmark. All the food I saw being served looked very appealing. Definitely coming back 😛

The food is excellent and always arrives piping hot, the service is excellent and the cafe is very clean and tidy, I am happy to give this cafe a very chirpy 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who enjoys fine dining, with service with a smile.

Excellent food and service!!! Visited at lunch time with my parents. Mum and I wanted to swap our mash potatoes and chips on our meals. They were very accommodating. As my mum doesn't always fancy chips the kind waitress let them know that in future if menu says chips. They could ask for mash potato instead, which my parents were delighted. I had the chicken in the sauce which was very enjoyable. Had some of dad s salad too, that also was very nice and tasty too. They were very accommodating as my parents also like their drinks with their meal which they serviced the drinks with the meal. Latte was also very nice. My parents very often visit here and always have a nice meal. This was my first visit for years. Highly recommend service and food was excellent. Our waitress was very polite and courteous. Thank you for an enjoyable lunch. I would definitely would go back when up visiting my parents and family.

We have been eating at this smart town centre cafe regularly for several years despite living some miles away. It offers tasty light lunches from a menu that includes many dishes of considerable originality. And if they have a new offering they are keen to know your opinion. Pleasant staff and good value. My one moan is that I find their coffee a little underpowered. Well worth a detour off the new bypass.

Walked in and was greeted by a smiley face and was told to sit where I liked. I took a seat near the window, lovely comfy high backed chairs and a gorgeous spotlessly clean quality round table. Was given a menu by another very friendly member of staff. Came back after a couple of minutes and I ordered a double espresso and an eggs Florentine without the spinach but with ham instead which was no problem. Coffee arrived along with very nicely polished set of quality cutlery on a quality paper napkin. Coffee was superb, piping hot, dark and rich just as it should be! Breakfast then arrived which was beautifully presented on a large warm plate, ham was thickly sliced and poached eggs were perfectly cooked. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience this morning and a fair price was paid for what I received, the quality of service and the atmosphere of the place! Highly recommended to everyone!

We had lunch at parkers, thirteen of us ranging in age from 97, my mum who’s birthday it was down to little 4 year olds . The service was wonderful, lovely waitresses and the food was great, according to everyone. They even let me have a child’s meal as I’ve not long had an operation. Everybody’s meals looked lovely. The waitress who took a family photo for us deserves a medal, she managed to get all 13 of us in photo and all looking at camera. Thank you so much for making my mums birthday so special

Having arrived in Newton looking for somewhere to enjoy food and refreshments we soon discovered Parkers Cafe. We were welcomed in immediately and the place was spotless clean and covid friendly. The choice of food was more than we expected and difficult to choose between the lovely menu. The food was made fresh, plentiful and delicious. Thank you to eveyone!

The staff at Parkers were fantastic with us today. (3 ladies of a "certain age" needing a pit stop following a rather fraught car journey). Great service lovely food (beautiful loos too). Menu was really interesting with lots of choices and a specials board too. Cake was delicious and loved the coffee. Definitely recommend.

Took my 16 month old for lunch the other day. I had a really nice scrambled egg with salmon and avocado on a muffin and he had chicken nuggets with mini waffles and baked beans. They were more than happy to put the beans in a separate dish for me. I was pleasantly surprised when it was served on a childs plate with a childs spoon. It meant I didn't have to worry about giving him his food on the plate. The staff were even happy to keep an eye on him while I nipped to the loo (they played peekaboo with him). Only negative is that they didn't have a QR code to scan and didn't take any details so not sure how track and trace would work if one of their customers got covid. It seems quite busy and whilst there is alcohol gel by the entrance and the staff wear masks there is obviously still a risk.

Just a coffee and a fabulous sponge, but as great as remembered, and it will be sooner next time. They have a fairly common menu, but good choices and kids' menu will mean a quick return. Coffee was very good, and I am SOOOOO fussy. Courteous staff and clear in their social-distancing directions.

Decided to stop for lunch in Newtown and chose Parkers for lunch. Very nice cafe with excellent polite and happy staff. Very hygienic conscious and nothing to much trouble. The food was first class and could not fault in any way. A nice atmosphere in the cafe and relaxed feeling to it all. We will be back for sure

Called in today for lunch and was very pleased with everything, ambience friendliness of staff, quality of food and the toilets were exceptional. Parker’s set the benchmark for how to provide an excellent service.

This cafe was recommended by a friendly man at one of the market stalls, when we mentioned that we were looking for a cup of coffee. Very popular with the locals, they are still managing to keep everyone well spaced during COVID while making you feel welcome. Excellent toilet facilities too. This is a good option for local flavour, a hot drink and - if you are a little peckish - a scone or piece of cake.

We had an absolutely terrible meal here. My partner and I both went for the quiche, which we were promised was homemade so we had high hopes. Unfortunately, it tasted of nothing with consistency of rubber. I cannot believe it was homemade, and if it is they need a new chef. Even the salad and sides were vile and we couldn't eat it. I really recommend you give this place a miss.

We booked reasonably late with the idea of finding a base to explore the local area for a few days. Arrival was very well organised with car parking instructions and access code to the door. Our room was No6 at the top of the house. Large bed, well appointed bathroom with so many added extras and little touches. Fan was keeping us cool and the room was spotless. Breakfast was excellent with Fruit followed by croissants, then cooked options galore. Tina was so welcoming that she even managed to get us into a local restaurant each evening. Nothing was too much with excellent service and advice on the local area. The property is wonderfully and great for exploring. We visited during Covid-19 and Tina had made excellent plans for social distancing without being absent. We will recommend Parkers to our friends and certainly visit again.

went here for lunch and was impressed at the hand sanitizer inside the door ! however we both had bacon brie and cranberry quiche. very disappointed as the quiche was more like a bacon pie with hard pastry shell and bacon inside ! not much sign of egg or brie ! Service was good but please take this off the menu !

lovely little cafe in the heart of the town centre. Very nice and warm atmosphere as well as friendly members of staff. The food we had was very tasty and great portion size. It is clear that they care about quality food and good service here. I would definitely go to eat there again.

Friendly staff, varied menu and good food plus decent coffee. I meet a friend here monthly for lunch and the food is lovely, and reasonably priced. I’ve had chicken and bacon wrap (could also be a sandwich, or a baguette or a panini), scrambled egg with salmon, the beetroot and goats cheese salad is out of this world, and the cheeseboard wonderful - so much choice! Have had cake a couple of times too, and they’re good too, but am usually full from the lunch to eat cake too.

Met with a friend for lunvh. There were several things wrong which were brought to the attention of the waitress but we only re eived excuses. Again brought to the attention of the owner - no result. Apparently they dont ask to see if everythings ok as they're a cafe not a restaurant....wont be returning.

Been here a number of times now and can it is consistent in the dishes and level of cleanliness Staff are really pleasant and the food is tasty and good sized portions . Very conveniently placed for lunchtime call to the bank and midday shopping.

An immaculately kept and beautifully dressed B&B. Verily clean with luxury bedding, towels and furniture. Breakfast was 5 star with lots ofchoice.

This place has lovely cakes and snacks to enjoy and delicious coffees, welcoming people who come in alone and just want to sit and catch their breath. Nice brunch eats, overall pleasant staff, free wifi, good atmosphere, quiet, nobody bothers you to hurry up and leave...UNLESS you go in there 10 minutes before closing, as they will make sure you know they frown upon late arrivers because they want to leave...even if you only want a coffee!!

Hubby and I stopped here for a snack and a drink on Monday. It has a very nice ambience and is very welcoming. We each had a scone which was delicious and good value for money. Our only criticism was that the waitress 'pounced' on us before my hubby had even taken his coat off and certainly before we had looked at the menu. She wanted to take the drink order and so he asked for tea for one. It was only when she had gone and we had a chance to look at the menu that we realised that they were offering a vast choice of teas rather than just a standard tea. What a shame that he missed out on something a little special. Still, we would certainly go back again if we were in Newtown and I would certainly recommend the scones and general ambience.

Great fresh food that is cooked that day to order, fantastic coffee and really lovely decor. Well worth a visit!

Dropped in to this place for a spot of lunch this afternoon and what a surprise. The home made lasagna and home made chunky chips like your mum made were awesome. Well worth a visit and very reasonably priced.

Travelling up from South Wales. Called in at Parkers for a lunch. Smart exterior leading to a well light modern interior. Plenty room to relax, happy attentive staff. A varied menu to suit all tastes. Lunch was fresh and well presented. A most enjoyable experience

My 8 year old daughter returned home this evening after going for a coffee with her grandmother. I could see she had been crying. She informed me that a lady at Parker’s has been rude to her Nanna. Obviously concerned and obviously not for one second thinking she meant a staff member I questioned her. She revealed that after a half hour wait for a coffee her Nanna had returned to the counter to say they were still waiting for a coffee to which a female staff member stated ‘If you don’t like it, there’s the door, you could go to Wetherspoons which is just round the corner’. My daughter was horrified as she will never have heard anyone being spoken to like that before, rightly so.

Have been to Parkers. Before for sandwiches and breakfast and has been good. Unfortunately today was not the same.My husband had the lighter breakfast which looksd good and he said tasted good.

This is a great place to stop for coffee and cake. Excellent coffee not too strong (unlike some places where you can cut the coffee with a knife it's so strong! ) friendly staff

first time here. Very busy on a lunchtime. A good selection of quiche and very tasty. Enjoyed it. Staff very pleasant and good humored.

Popped in to catch up my day had the light breakfast, phew it was yummy and the coffee was good too and both were generous.

I hardly want to share this place, it was so nice. We sat on a squashy sofa and leather chairs and enjoyed delicious hot chocolates and coffees. The food choices were very impressive - lots of choice including eggs benedict. They do b and b with a separate breakfast room for overnight guests. All the toilets were exemplary and on the ground floor with an especially spacious disabled loo. Certainly with their very pleasant staff this is somewhere I would return to.

We eat here regularly as it has a lovely atmosphere for all ages. Varied menu with breakfasts and lunches. The bacon sandwiches are delicious - chunky bread and plenty of bacon. Friendly and quick service.

We stopped off in Newtown en route to Cardiff after a pleasant couple of days away in North Wales. We were just looking for somewhere to have a break for an hour with our little 1 year old during the long car journey. We were overwhelmed with the wonderful service received by the team at Parkers. They were so attentive despite having a busy lunch time rush, nothing was too much trouble. Our baby was given some toys to occupy him whilst we had our drinks and when a large party queued up to pay the staff were really considerate and moved out table over slightly so it didn't infringe on ours and the baby's experience. The facilities for baby changing were also very good and I felt it so important to say what a child friendly place Parkers is. I normally visit at least twice a month with my husband and have previously left a positive review. We've been unable to visit for almost 6 months and my recent visit earlier this week I was accompanied by my sister and her grandson.

Lovely little visit into here on the way to South Wales. Fantastic sandwiches at great prices with very friendly, attentive staff. Place was clean and tidy too, really welcoming and cosy. Would recommend!

I arrived late and rang the proprietor about car parking to find that I wasn't expected until the next day as Booking.com had messed up my booking date. However the proprietor was exceedingly helpful, came to meet me at Parkers and soon settled me in to a wonderful room. Thank goodness communication was excellent and I was easily able to get in touch!

Met a friend for coffee but was also peckish so had two slices of toast with my latte, friendly staff and very clean. Food was very good as toast was very thick and was also given plenty of butter which you don’t always get in some places , would recommend

Popped in for brunch with the Family, the cafe was very busy when we arrived but the food arrived at our table in less than 15 mins after ordering. The cooked breakfast was fresh and plentiful, I wish I had taken a picture now! All in all a good experience with tasty food, prompt service and polite staff. Will visit again! Thanks

Called in there for a little lunch and a coffee while having a walk around Newtown, Offered a table and brought a menu, waitress came over and took our order, Hot drinks very good and lunch was all home made. 1* tuna, sweet corn and mayo jacket and 1* chicken bacon and sweet chilli mayo baguette. We had a side of chips which were proper home made hand cut chips and not greasy in any way. Definitely a must have for a visit.

Visited late morning with family for breakfast when travelling through based on previous reviews. The premises are very well kept and decor of high standard. Access is great for mobility issues as no steps to enter and bathroom facilities on ground level. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The choice and quality of food is excellent. We all had breakfasts and thoroughly enjoyed them. The bacon and sausages were especially good. Prices are very reasonable and excellent value for money. We won’t hesitate to return.

Having spent many years travelling to South Wales and stopping at disappointing restaurants,this year we decided to stop in Newtown and visit Parkers. The place was warm and welcoming and very nicely decorated with no steps, which is ideal for my husband who uses a wheelchair. We ordered the All day breakfast, which was actually too much and the Light breakfast which was delicious and very good value for money. We were given the choice of smoked bacon and brown bread for toast and altered some of the items on the menu. The meals were very good value for money and the service very pleasant.

Very freindly relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced, I only had a coffee but I enjoyed it and felt relaxed and unhurried.

This is a welcoming place to sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch. There are some 'different' choices of food, on the menu, and the prices are reasonable.

Called in here last Saturday after completing the park run, the cake was divine and the staff were extremely friendly! I came a few years ago for lunch and service was also brilliant then too, I ordered a baked potato, it took a little while to come out but was worth the wait. it was lovely!

Lots of vegetarian choices on the menu, light bites, sandwiches and hot food too, Excellent service, very friendly and lovely atmosphere. It was our first visit and we loved the décor, with plenty of room between the tables- we didn't feel rushed at all.

Sea bass fish cakes with chorizo was very tasty and quiche with salad was very filling. A great lunch :-)

We go to Parker's several times a month and almost every time we've been more than happy with the service and quality of food. The coffee is tasteful and hot and the hot chocolate (I've recently discovered) is to die for.

An impromptu lunch at Parkers. It was our first visit. The staff were welcoming and friendly and rearranged tables to suit our party of five. Menu was extensive and we all enjoyed our meals. Great coffee. Our daughter enjoyed a very decadent hot chocolate. Will return when next in Newtown.

Having experienced Parkers great breakfasts we booked a table for lunch to have a pre Christmas meal with friends. Tastefully decorated Parkers is light and airy. They manage to get in a lot of tables however they manage to create a feel that you are not on top of each other.

I joined up with 6 friends in this restaurant on Friday evening, and what a fantastic experience it was. On arrival we were greeted by the most welcoming bubbly girls who immediately took our drinks order and showed us to our table. Our starters were soon with us, all but me had Camembert wrapped in Parma ham, I had a Roquefort cheesecake with rocket and walnut salad with fig purée. The presentation and flavours were superb.

Stopped off for lunch on a rainy day and what a pleasant surprise a clean warm atmosphere with helpful staff. The food arrived and was excellent there was nothing that we could fault.

Husband had the 'light breakfast which was huge! I had cheese on toast and it was so tasty. We love it here. The food is excellent as is the service. Definitely recommend this for a lazy breakfast ☺

Call here for coffee and a snack from time to time. It's an ok place but service can be a bit hit and miss, staff chatting at the counter and not watching tables. Reasonably priced and decent decor.

Had a brunch visit on Saturday for 4 adults & 2 kids and would like to say the service the staff provided was phenomenal throughout.The food was amazing, thick cut bacon, thick cut bread perfectly cooked food for all 6 of us & waited not even 10 minutes.The cafe had a lovely vibe & you could tell people enjoyed spending time there.She also couldn't do enough for our 4 year old boy who got spoilt rotten by the staff.I urge everyone in & outside the area to pay the place a visit as I know we will definitely be visiting again.Keep up the great work & see you again soon.

Pre booked a lunchtime meal for 11 people. All food came out within 5 mins of arrival. Fantastic freindly service and the food was great. I had the carbonara and I can highly recommend it! A good range of food available and very good quality.

Popped in for a late lunch/early dinner and was not disappointed! Had to be quick as only a short amount of time and ordered 3 full meals which were served with 10 minutes. Food was stunning, hand cut 'real' chips, large steak and huge gammon - all cooked to perfection! Service was great too - friendly and service with a smile should never be underestimated. Highly recommended

Lovely friendly local people run this delightful family run cafe drawing in very friendly clientele, some of them locals, regulars, local workers, tourists, visitors, ... The staff are friendly, kind and accommodating, they provide the personal touch, they listen to your needs and will deliver some lovely tasty food and drinks made on the premises to match your requirements. I think they will do their best to cater for customers on vegetarian, gluten, sugar, dairy free and vegan diets. Visited with my parents and daughter. Ordered a variety if sandwiches and toasties. One of the toasties we discovered was made with mouldy bread. Was offered a replacement however at this point the meal was ruined as we all had bread. Really upset the entire day. Underwhelming apology at the till and not charged for the toastie. Followed up with a letter of complaint however neither customer service or apologies seem to be a strength of the management.

It's very difficult to get something nice to eat at 11.30 in the morning.First time in Parkers since their refurbishment. Lovely and clean, fresh decor. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We have just returned from another visit to see family over in Newtown and once again had another great meal in Parkers.The cafe has recently been decorated and looks much brighter and the new lighting also makes a difference.Whilst this may not be the cheapest place to eat in Newtown it is certainly in my opinion the best place to eat.The menu is extensive and so with so many options it is hard to choose what to have each time I go I try and have something different .The service is excellent and the staff eager to please.The quality of the food and portion size is very good and I am more than happy to pay if I get quality food which you certainly do here.The whole atmosphere in this coffee shop is very nice and all customers are treated equally I would say whether you are regular or a new customer .I would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Newtown.The only downside for me is that they are not open for evening dining but hopefully maybe in the future.

Having gone into Parkers on several occasions with one pushchair and friends I went in there again with my daughter who also had a pushchair meaning that there were 2 adults and 2 pushchairs. I was left speechless when as we were sitting down and moving the pushchairs so that we were causing less of an obstruction I was astonished by the reaction of the staff member who was quite rude that we were making a mess! as a result of this I will not be darkening your doors again. Very disappointed by your actions.
