Drinks outside, ate inside. What a lovely place. Friendly staff and delicious food. We were staying at The Boat House campsite. Would love to visit again.

Impromptu visit so nice surprise to find a great variety of food. Indian dishes were excellent. This is proper Indian food, not just a pub with curry on the menu! Also deliver within a local radius too. Good selection of drinks. Best to book ahead as it does get very busy both in the bar and food area for dine in and takeout. We’ll definitely be back - Highly recommend.

Staying about 20 minutes away in Llanfyllin. We didn't book as it was a Monday evening. Staff found us a table straight away with our two dogs. Pub and food side appear to be run as seperate business'. Good selection of beers on offer, nice cosy interior, very clean. Good choice of meals on menu all traditionally cooked. We ordered a main dish and one portion of rice to share with a naan each. Starter arrived quite quickly with mains about ten minutes after starter finished. Food is excellent, very, very tasty, good sized portions and the best nans ever. Didn't feel rushed at all, staff were very polite and friendly. Main bar was busy with locals and lots of tables and chairs outside under covered patio area or in the large grassed enclosed garden. Would highly recommend if in the area, food was fantastic.

We arrived at 5pm on Friday of the Bank Holiday for food, not thinking we might have needed to book! WRONG lol but thankfully the fitted us in and got us fed before the people who'd booked the table at 7 turned up. The food is amazing and there's plenty of it too! The service great. The Pub Landlord is a gem, he wound my other half up a treat over the Guinness :) We will definitely be back for food any time we're i the area but we'll remember to book and I think a night out there is on the agenda too.

What a great find... We were stopping at a local camp site where the owner recommended the pub and restaurant as a place to go. Well, what a great recommendation! Great service at the bar on entry, and the great service continued throughout the late afternoon and into the evening. A very good Indian menu, with traditional favourites and the chefs specials, which are really worthy of a look. We both had starters and mains from the specials menu, the food was extremely tasty and value for money. We'll definitely be back for another visit, and I'd thoroughly recommend giving it a try.

Booked for Father's Day. The pub is basically separate from the Indian restaurant and is great with lovely drinks and staff. The Indian restaurant food is above average but nowhere near the best I've tasted at a typical UK Indian restaurant. My fish pakora starter was tasteless. Fatty batter with no discernable taste to the fish and no hint that it had been marinaded. A very nice younger member of staff apologised and assured the dish would not be charged. I had a spicy bombay aloo for main with a garlic Naan. The curry was ok. The Naan was excellent. The experience was totally spoiled by an older member of staff who was brusque at the outset and gruffly took our orders. Telling us the way he wanted to take the orders too. I asked for my bombay to have the potatoes cooked very soft. He made a rude face and said" they're always soft, they're boiled'. Turns out the potatoes were not soft. They were on the hard side. He served the food to us by thrusting our plates at us across the table with no trace of a smile or cordiality. It was beyond rude. I didn't finish my main. It wasn't great. He saw I'd left my potatoes and made a sarcastic comment "You going to finish that?!". Upon paying we needed to split the bill accurately due to a larger party with people having very different orders. He was rude about that too and said "next time we have to do separate bills". Well, I don't know who you think you are but there most certainly won't be a next time. I'll spend my money at better Indian restaurants who value their customers and know how to treat them.

Went to the Punch Bowl on a whim, totally unplanned and was very impressed. It was the nicest lamb saag I've had. The boys who run it are absolutely charming and funny. They travel from Walsall every day and are lovely guys. It was popular on the Friday night as it's near caravan parks. Payments in the pub part are separate from the restaurant, so you won't have a tab. We all enjoyed it and will return. Thank you.

On a quick trip to Wales stayed close to the Punch Bowl Tavern. Went or some drinks and some food. £15 for a bottle of wine and around £3/4 for a beer which seemed a good price. The food was basic pizzas, chicken, chips but was cheap and huge portions. One way system around the pub and tables outside and inside. We sat outside due to good weather. Nice afternoon, would recommend.

What can I say, other than the pub has been totally refitted with a complete new dining area. The menus are new, with fresh pizzas available. I particularly like Sunday 3 until 6 as I do not particularly like a Sunday lunch, however there is now a limited menu available. We have just had a steak, and steak and ale pie, both lovely and 2 for £12!!!.I have just booked again for Friday when the full menu is available. You really need to try it to appreciate it!!

This is the first time we've been for Sunday Lunch, although we eat and drink here regularly. I must say that as always the food was of the highest standard. There was a choice of beef, turkey and lamb. 3 of us had turkey and the other beef. There were roasties, 2 yorkies, peas, carrots, parsnips, mash, stuffing, pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese and sprouts. Also a spare pot of gravy. Tak and Pal were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. There are a choice of desserts, however we were too full. Definitely recommend and definitely be back for Sunday lunch.

We go to the punch bowl every week and are always made welcome by Tak, Pal and the staff. It's a local pub and is situated in a village. The pub has been decorated to the highest standard. We eat there most weeks and the food is always freah and piping hot, having been cooked to order. The prices are very reasonable and there is a choice of English or Indian food as well as a children's menu. We have never had a bad experience here and it is to be highly recommended.

Well I have to say today's visit was a major disappointment. We arrived at 12. 00 after booking a table and had a choice of tables. All went well until the first waitress chucked down a bowl of luke warm cauliflower cheese, 5 minutes later one if our main meals arrived, followed shortly by my partners. The cauliflower cheese was cold at this stage and had to go back to be microwaved. Roast potatoes were not cooked enough, the gravy was so thick I think I could have walked on it. Pork was minimal, certainly not worth 9.95. Kind of put off eating a desert by the waitress constantly tugging at her leggings and pulling them up her bum, she did this everytime she walked back in the kitchen. Very unhygienic and very off putting. Canceled our desert, paid for the main meal left hungry and never to return. No I did not complain, as to be honest I did not want to get wound up. Just won't come back.

We walked to pub with loud music and full of builder/workman playing pool. The restaurant part was adjacent to this. This is not a family friendly establishment. However, the staff were very friendly and the good was good although the burger was so over cooed that it snapped when trying to cut it. There was no acceptance of the poorly cooked meal nor any offer of a non payment of s non eaten meal. Would I go back again? Yes, but I now know what to expect and it is a average.

Popped in here just before they were shutting down the ovens - they were very happy to have a last table of (late) hungry dinners! Food was LOVELY!!! We had 2 x HOMEMADE Mac & Cheese (with salad/veg + chips!) and 1 x scampi & chips / peas - it’s great food here! All of it was piping-hot. Staff were very friendly and chatty, and very efficient!!! Hey it’s not the Ritz to look at, but if you want excellent home-cooked food, with nice service, this IS the place to go in ‘Llandod’. THANKS again and see you the next time we’re in Wales on Holiday 👍🙏😊

A great little pub. Proper local feel and a proper, traditional pub.
