Six of us for Sunday lunch. We had a great time. The waitresses were really good, the meal was able portion and really tastie. Would recommend. That's Kerry lamb team

The Kerry Lamb near Newtown Powys is a gorgeous country pub, owned and run by Rob and Ceri, with the restaurant run by Chef Craig Thompson with his wife Rose. Offering an almost entirely Gluten Free menu, their dedication and commitment to providing lovingly preparing home cooked, delicious dining does not go un-noticed in the taste, presentation and quality. As a highly sensitive coeliac sufferer, i am able to eat here safely and without worry. Craig and his team are clued up and knowledgeable about the risks of cross contamination and take all necessary measures to ensure that those with coeliac disease, intolerance or allergies have a safe and worry free dining experience. The food is simply outstanding! The Kerry Lamb have a seasonal menu which is available Thursdays to Sundays and also a lunch menu, and on Sundays thet offer a delicious gluten free roast dinner with a choice of meats. If you have room I’d recommend trying a dessert too, my favourite is the white chocolate and rasperry cheesecake, it’s just divine! The pub has a beautiful beer garden, and the whole place is family friendly and dog friendly. They often have live music and host parties and private functions.

There isn’t enough stars on the rating panel ! Have just got home following a FABULOUS night with family and friends at the Kerry Lamb. Food was stunning.8 empty plates.Dessert mouth watering delicious.8 people silenced as we all devoured every scrumptious mouth full… My choice of key lime pie was so tart it made my mouth water,simply (as we say in Wales…)LUSH . And the best bit our daughter being coeliac could have any thing off the totally GF menu .Well done EVERYONE, the service was excellent the food delicious the atmosphere brilliant 👍Only one teeny tiny niggle… we all struggled to read the font on your menues 🤣!!!

Fabulous Sunday lunch at this lovely pub. Lunch was very fresh and tasty. Fantastic to see that they cater for gluten free diets really well as all of the trimmings were gluten free. Sadly didn’t have time for pudding as we’re passing through but highly recommend this place

Had the most amazing lunch today with family, the roast beef dinner was so tasty and a good selection of vegetables and cheesy cauliflower was amazing. We had the pudding which was to die for, lemon curd cheesecake and my daughter had the chocolate truffle torte, the children enjoyed their lunch and the ice cream went down a treat, I would definitely be returning and would highly recommend a visit.

Love this pub! Friendly, local, welcoming. The staff always give the best service. Food is amazing. Dog friendly and very child friendly.

Can’t sing Debbies praises enough she always gives 110%. Recently I was going on a family day out and wanted a picnic I rang Debbie to see if she could prepare one for me, she made me 2 boxes of mixed sandwiches, with cake and sausage rolls it took the stress out of the day and was great value for money. The other night I was running short of time due to work commitments and had promised to make cottage pie for tea, one phone call and an oven ready cottage pie with vegetables was delivered to my door ready for me to cook, again amazing value for money and delicious. Deb and staff can turn their hand to anything and no request Is too much

As we can no longer go out, each week we order from the Kerry Lamb delivery service which has been set up to help local people during the lock down.The effort they have put in to support the village is outstanding. We can't fault the food or the customer friendly service.Hats off to the team at the Kerry Lamb. Thank You.

Tried out their takeaway service tonight for the first time. Ordering was hassle free and delivery was prompt with really tasty food too!!! Can highly recommend and will no doubt be using this excellent service again!!!

A group of us met up at the Kerry Lamb, entering the pub we were created by friendly staff, locals and a warm inviting fireWe ordered drinks and spent some time chatting. Having pre ordered our food, due to the current virus outbreak, it wasn't long before we were being served our starters and then our main meals. Slight changes to one meal was happily accommodated and everyone fed and feeling fully satisfiedThe atmosphere in the pub is warm and inviting and the staff taking time to chat and make sure everything was okThe pub is now offering an ordering, takeaway and delivery service, helping those that can't and don't want to venture out, pulling together that great community spiritI'd highly recommend going to the Kerry Lamb, it's everything a good pub should be

Just visited the Kerry Lamb for some food and a pint. The service was fast and extremely accommodating! I asked for something that wasn’t on the menu and they delivered with no problem at all!! The food was delicious and will definitely be returning for more!!

Trip Advisor on one map page places this in the middle of Newtown. It isn't, but worth the short journey of ten mins or so. Place is friendly, good for families, and has a bar and restaurant. We chose the bar as the football was showing there, and played darts while we waited for foods. The Kerry Burger, as stated in other reviews, was excellent with great chips, and good value at £10. My one son didn't enjoy his curry too much, saying it was quite dry: he was quite right but it was tasty in my opinion, as I cleaned his plate. The other had sausage and chips which was fine, as the pizza option was only available from 5 onwards. They were friendly and attentive, and we'll be visiting again, probably for Sunday roast next time. Bargains are becoming harder to find, even in pub food, and this was a great end of school holiday little treat.

I was in the Kerry Lamb on Saturday with 6 lady bowlers for Christmas lunch. The meal was excellent. The turkey was moist and tender. There was an abundance of vegetables with so much choice. Congratulations to the proprietor for having crackers which had all parts recyclable, gone was a cheap plastic toy and replaced with a wooden tree hanger in the shape of a house with the name of Shelter on it. Grateful thanks to the chef and to the staff who were efficient and very friendly. I would certainly recommend the Kerry Lamb.

Came here for a meal out while visiting Newtown and couldn’t fault it. Had the dog with us so had to sit in the bar area which was nice! Food was absolutely amazing!! Will def be back if I’m the area!!

Went for a meal on a Saturday night with 5 others. Lovely selection on menu, restaurant and bar foods available, I had the ‘Ceri beef burger’ which was gorgeous. Starters and pudding were lovely also, especially the caramel rocky road brownie! Recommend for any occasion. Thank you!!

Booked in for the mid week carvery on 9th October. The meal was fantastic as usual and the service spot on. We are really pleased to have such a great pub on our doorstep and will continue to visit regularly. Would highly recommend.

Great home cooked food and service, it’s hardly surprising you have to book in advance for the Sunday carvery. Would definitely go back.

We always go for dinner on a Wednesday night. its always a pleasure, such lovely food and always tasty and warm the service is always good. I would recomend the kerry lamb if you want a lovely mid week treat.

I went to Kerry lamb on Friday 4th October with family for a meal and I was welcomed in by a very nice gentleman. Once we got settled our food came out and were shocked of how good and lovely it looked. We were told it was a new menu they only just released that week. It tasted outstanding and couldn't ask for anything better. The deluxe Belgium waffles that came out, there are no works it was amazing. I was so thankful to the staff and manager/landlady for making my birthday meal a meal I won't forget. I would defantly suggest this country family friendly pub. Such a nice place to relax and enjoy food or drink. X

Have been for Sunday lunch many times now since they have opened, I am yet to be disappointed!! I'm usually quite hard to please with a Sunday lunch, but in fairness with prompt service and good quality food, the owners obviously aim to please! Also having never been disappointed I'm always happy to recommend the Kerry Lamb to anyone who is looking for a good place to eat!

Stopped by today with some friends, ask the bar staff if there was any chance of food, i ordered the ceri burger, it was amazing great flavours and was very mouth watering and left room for pudding i ordered the deluxe belgian waffles, don’t have enough words to say how amazing they were, great bar staff, amazing landlady and great tasting lager

Went for food here around 2.00pm, tried to get Sunday Lunch, plenty of space in Bar and some in the other room where the carvery was , we were told they’re “too busy” and as we hadn’t booked we could get lunch, we weren’t even offered the normal menu! Being new to the area this was not a great welcome, I hope they manage to keep full during the depths of winter when the tourists dry up, won’t be me though!

We have just spent lunch-time in the garden, which is large and well laid out. The restaurant appeared to be busy, which may explain the long wait to place orders in the bar. When it arrived, the food was acceptable, but certainly not exceptional. The cottage pie was described by those who had it as "probably from a supermarket", and the chicken curry was compared to that from a tin. No cutlery was provided until it was requested, and over 2 hours after we had eaten none of the plates or glasses had been collected.

We had a very enjoyable meal and did not have to wait very long for service. We were waited on by a very pleasant and helpful young lady.

I celebrated my 31st birthday with a meal here. There were 12 of us all together and all 12 were blown away with the food especially when it came to the Sirloin steaks and the homemade Ceri Burger! Can not thank you enough for accommodating us all. Service was amazing staff were friendly and approachable. Just top notch. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

A lovely place to eat , particularly Sunday lunch. They do a very good carvery with a choice of two meats and a good variety of vegetables , good food and pleasant surroundings. Very helpful staff, all together highly recommended.

Stopped here for Sunday carvery on way back to Barry. Nice people, good service and lovely food. Beef, roasties, parsnips and plenty of veg on offer, all cooked really well. Had to sit in bar as main room full which was a bit limited on space but was told that when booked at short notice...

We were staying in holiday accommodation just a couple of miles from Kerry and we read a review written by a former guest saying The Kerry Lamb was worth a visit so we drove to it on the off chance we could get a Sunday lunch.The pub was very busy and we should have booked, but a very pleasant young man told us we could be fitted in if we were prepared to wait about 30 minutes. We sat in the lovely garden at the back with our dog and had a beer. True to his word the young man found us a table in the bar and we helped ourselves to the best carvery I have ever tasted.The lady told us the meat was provided by a local butcher and it was delicious,so tender and all the vegetables were freshly prepared. We would thoroughly recommend this pub and will go back when we return to Kerry. Next time we will book in advance!!

Was looking for something to eat whilst on way back to our holiday home, The Kerry Lamb came up on my route planner, so had no idea what it was like, and was greatly surprised, how lovely it was, the staff where very friendly and helpful, the carvery was one of the best I've had, very good portions, also my son had a pizza which he really enjoyed, would definitely go back it had the chance

Only popped in for a couple of drinks with friends and ordered pizza and rustic chips to share as a snack. Omg the pizza was amazing. We will definitely be returning for a restaurant meal if this is anything to go by.

Lovely atmosphere to enjoy a family carvery! We were a party of 9 we were seated quickly served within 5 minutes of being seated. Food was delicious! Hot, tender meat, fresh veg to choose from. Just perfect. Plenty of dessert options, and my children loved the jelly and ice cream option! The staff were super welcoming and attentive and it was all very well priced. We had a fantastic time and will defo be back.

Yesterday we came to the Kerry Lamb for a cavery after a christening.

Visited Dec 18 for Sunday cavery and was excellent! couldn't fault it! only negative which i didn't comment on last time but second visit today feel I nèed to comment is don't feel it's appropriate for the person serving the carvery wearing a vest top,not nice bearing arm pits!, t-shirt would be better. Choice and amount was as good as last time but plates not as hot and food not as hot as last time. We were disappointed that log fire wasn't burning and if it was we would have stopped after our meal and had a few more drinks!. Feel that the bar doesn't have a inviting relaxing feeling the way it has been laid out, preferred it when sofas were set around fire as that way you didn't feel uncomfortable facing other customers.

Visiting Newtown on a Sunday for work and needed a quick byte beforehand.

We only life down the road,tried the kerry lamb today for first time, all I can say is excellent, best carvery we have had, all you want is hot plates, plenty of choice of fresh veg and hot, not very often anymore you get asked if you would like more meat, which they did and lotd of hot gravy, what more could I say excellent excellent!! We came away very full. Would highly recommend, didn't mind been put in the naughty corner lol

We had a wonderful high tea as part of our week in Wales. The owners were so accomodating opening early for our group of 9. The tea was superb with simply delicious cake, scones, Welsh cakes, sandwiches and tea. Everyone was very impressed and the ambiance was wonderful.

Dropped in when passing on the way back from Holiday. Instantly made to feel welcome and even though it was near to the end of service they made us a table up and piled in the fresh veg. Meal was perfect too. Nice local Ale selection. It would be worth the 60 mile journey back there one Sunday to have another fab meal.

went out with friends for a meal here quite early,7pm very quiet. compact selection on the menu, which is good. Quality and quantity was fine service prompt and friendly by a couple of young lads. we all had something different, all were rated fine. the beer and wine were all good and reasonably priced. would recommend

The Kerry Lamb is our local and we come here often. As we like it so much we decided to have our wedding reception here, as we wanted a small, relaxed do, and it was perfect! Nothing was too much trouble for Debbie and the staff and we had the perfect day.

We were treated to lunch by visiting friends and had a lovely meal. Served on very hot plates a choice of meat, lovely roast potatoes and parsnips and plenty of fresh vegetables. A very tasty meal. Staff were very friendly. Will definately be going again.

A small group of us (6) went to the Kerry lamb for a leaving meal from work last night. The food was spot on, could not fault it one bit! I'd recommend saving room for desert as well as that was to die for, the sticky toffee pudding with custard is just something else! Debbie and her team were amazing and friendly as always and can't wait to go back there!

My Daughter rang at short notice to book us for Sunday lunch on mothering Sunday. As it was fully booked they very kindly said that they would try their best to accommodate us and would ring back. They did ring back in 10 minutes and offered a table in the bar. We had a fantastic carvery meal served in very pleasant surroundings and served by delightful staff. This may have been the first time that we have visited the Kerry Lamb but it certainly won't be the last. Thank you all of you.

A good carvery which was exceptionally hot. Tea towels are provided to carry your plate. The portions of meat were generous and the selection of vegetables was excellent. It was very busy when we visited so a prior booking would be recomended

Lovely carvary in a very pleasant environment. Roaring fire in the bar for a drink followed by a excellent food. We only rang an hour before but they managed to get us in.

I visited with 5 friends on a busy Friday evening, we all had basket meals. I had the chicken which was delicious. My friends had the fish, scampi and cheeseburgers. There were certainly no left overs. Very reasonably priced and super quick service. We enjoyed our meals in the lovely beer garden.

Frozen chips, yes some are better than others but these are vile, cheapest scampi you can buy, and if you like dried chicken this is the place to go. No lemon, jarred tartar. Don't waste your money, it's cheap but that's it. Won't be back..

I visited with my family for the Sunday carvery lunch - Wow!The food was fantastic and the welcome very warm.I had the roast beef which was cooked to perfection, my Husband had a mix of roast beef and pork - his plate was full of meat ! There was a selection of 6 veg to choose from too.My daughter was with us, who is vegetarian. Even though I hadn't mentioned this when I booked she was quickly catered for with a meat free option and veggie gravy.The drinks were very reasonably priced and my Sauvignon Blanc extremely quaffable!Absolutely fantastic ! Can't wait to go again.

Booked as a group of 5 for Sunday lunch. The food was hot and delicious - being carved fresh in front of you by the chef. Choice of beef, lamb or chicken was great and you could even have a little of each if you were finding it hard to decide. Plenty of veg available, as well as cracklings and Yorkshire puds.Restaurant was very busy so the atmosphere was great. Staff were smiley, helpful and friendly - the new owners are lovely too! Can't wait to go back!

We have just returned from a weekend staying in Kerry with family.We went to the Kerry Lamb pub Friday night and just had drinks.It was very quite but the locals were very friendly and entertaining shall I say!!We decided to return on Saturday night to eat.Good descion the food and service was great.I had lasagna and other half had the gammon .The meals came with a side dish of vegetables which we not expecting which was a nice surprise .The food was hot and well presented portions were large also so good value for money.The pub was quite busy with lots of orders for food but the lady owner ( sorry cannot remember your name) was very accommodating to everyone.The atmosphere in the pub overall was very freindly and we spent two enjoyable nights there and would recommend it to anyone and I'm sure when we visit agin we will be going back .

Just moved in to Kerry from Manchester,our !st Sunday dinner in the Kerry Lamb and it wont be our last,,service from the bar to the waiters second to none,and the meals ??,lets just say excellent value and class,,,so happy its going be our new regular....

Walked in walked straight back out , full of drunk Welsh revellers (they had just won the football) .If you want somewhere good to eat with nice atmosphere try mirrens in Newtown .Great cocktails too . Everywhere else I'm Newtown pretty dumpy too .

Booked for my partner, myself and my Mother Today and although thought they would be really busy they weren't! A lovely warm welcome and we were soon shown to our table. We all chose the roast beef and WOW did it deliver! Slices of roast beef were almost half an inch thick and lovely and tender accompanied by nicely cooked vegetables. I couldnt fault the meal and it was also very reasonably priced. Will recommend this place and definitely go again soon!!!

We happened upon the Kerry Lamb by chance, and really glad we stopped. Nice welcome, friendly, and the food was just what we wanted.The "best lasagne I've ever had" said Owen (aged 7), "even better than schools", and to prove it he ate it all.Our food was good honest pub food, I heard them saying they had only limited spaces for dinner, which I could well imagine.Next time we will book for Sunday lunch.Thanks and well recommended.

Local family business which goes through various stages of food reasonable price sand ideal fo r Family sunday lunch

We decided to stay local on Saturday night and went to the Kerry Lamb for the first time in a little while. Lisa is a lovely host and all the staff are friendly and helpful.There is a good basic bar menu, but all produced and presented excellently, (even down to the cucumber being peeled in the salad!) Our bill included the drinks too and we were pleasantly surprised when we got it. Needless to say we will be returning sooner rather than later!

THe Sunday lunches are a blessing when old friends or relatives appear as the ususal meat and two veg is more than acceptable and costs a reasonable amount

Delightful country pub with very good quality wines and beers. The beer garden is gorgeous and dog friendly.

Busy pub in the evening, with spacious restuarant. I would advise you book, especially on a weekend and for Sunday lunch. Service for food a little slow, as they were short-staffed when we went in, but food well worth the wait; good presentation and quality ingredients. My £10 chilli con carne was delicious; my husbands salmon and sweet potato curry perfect. They do not do childrens menus but are happy to do half portions or offer the snack meals (e.g scampi and chips was under £5). These snack basket meals are big...half the size would have been ok for my 10 year old. Waiter was friendly, attentive and polite. Complements to the chef!Pub does welcome dogs in bar (not in restaurant area)

We were staying in a B & B in the area and went here for an evening meal. We were expecting the usual Pub Food but we were very surprised and got superb value for money. We ordered the Bubble & Squeak starter which was absolutely delicious and well presented with a poached egg on top. For mains we ordered Sweet Potatoe Curry and a Chicken Dish. Both delicious. We had 2 rounds of drinks and they sold us a bottle of wine to take out. Total cost was £50.00. Top marks to the chef and lovely staff. Will definately re-visit when we are in the area again.

Travelling down from the North I called into the Kerry Lamb on the off chance. Despite being very busy serving Sunday Lunches I was made extremely welcome and space was found for me. The food was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly, courteous and efficient.The overall quality of the experience certainly merited higher prices than were charged. Went to the Kerry Lamb a few years ago for a family meal, the place was buzzing, food amazing and overall a great enjoyable night.So when we booked for 8pm tonight (18th) after being told they were booking we arrived to a restaurant with three other tables, 8 people in total by 8.30pm we just had our order taken at the bar by 8.45pm we got seated.Starters arrived to the tables fresh from the freezer, packet and jars by the looks - so heavens knows what took so long.My partner ordered steak which arrived not being rested, odd greasy onion rings and badly prepared tomato and mushroom. I on the other hand refused to eat my processed sausages, lumpy unseasoned day own mash and a horrid gravy.They nicely gave me my dinner for free but for £31 it was not worth it! Bar lady seemed carful but the child waiter was lacking experience or speed of a service.Added up taking our bill to the bar so we could leave quicker.

Having had a lovely meal at the Kerry Lamb a few years ago we choose to book a family Mothers Day meal last Sunday. The choice of meals were poor. Two of the party had fish which was nice. Three family members had beef which was tough. There was a tureen of potatoes which some had black on, the only other vegetables were peas and carrots which were at best luke warm,infact carrots had obviously been taken out of the fridge to be warmed up as some had not been heated at all!!.There was no vanilla ice cream, which I would have been a must in a restaurant freezer-my Grand-daughters then ordered chocolate ice cream and got mint!!. We were not made to feel welcome and I will not return or recommend.

I was really really looking forward to being taken out by my family for Mothers Day Lunch. I was given the choice of where to go, The Kerry Lamb was a really great place to eat I cook every other day of the week and now had the opportunity to put on a dress and relax. I choose the Roast Beef. Very tough and fatty really disappointing. The vegetables were Carrots and Peas and boiled potatoes. The carrots had obviously been cooked the previous day and kept in the fridge, as they hadn't been reheated in the microwave for long enough. I cook veg almost everyday and it doesn't take much to cook 3 different sorts from fresh. The children chewed through their beef. When the waitress asked if we'd enjoyed it I said that the beef was very tough, she said she wold mention it to the chef. What good will that be now? the damage has been done I will never recommend the eating house again to anyone.

Everything was great - food cooked to perfection, cheerful, efficient, welcoming service, prices to make you come back - can't wait to go again! (In fact tried today on spec, but we were too late!)
