First visit, had very high expectations for it from what people have told us. The first dish which was âNugget of the Yellow Brick' was amazing. The start was strong and we really enjoyed it and were looking forward to coming dishes. An interesting dish with a lovely taste. Rating it 10/10. The next dish âScarecrow â was lovely, the pork was cooked perfectly, soft, not rubbery. Presentation fun and unique. Rating it 7.5/10. âTin Woodman & Cowardly Lionâ, this dish was an unusual taste that definitely is for an acquired taste, not myself in this case and my husband. We both felt that the dish was not to our taste at all and rating it at 2/10, it had some interesting tastes that we did like but the majority was not nice and the after taste stayed for long. Coming up was âDeadly Poppy Fieldâ, the fish was pretty good but we could taste the oil that it was cooked in quite significantly. The 3 types of extra that came with it werenât bad at all. Overall rating at 6/10. âThe Wicked Witchâ was the next dish, the dish I think was the smallest out of all which I didnât exactly like, the chicken was juicy and soft, risotto was overcooked and on a watery side (tasting like water), the pork on the side was tasty and crunch and the black sauce was lovely. Rating at 8/10. For this dish we also got the add on extra which was âSouthern Spiced Prawn & Pork Belly Skewer, Wakame Salad, Seaweed Ranch Dressing â, would I say it was worth it? No, the prawns the the tiniest I have ever seen, it was sort of over-salted for myself at least and didnât bring much to the experience. The last item on the menu was a dessert, it was an outstanding end to our dinner, called âThe Emerald Cityâ. The sorbet was amazingly done, the cheesecake not too sweet, soft. The deep fried mars was tasty, and a surprising addition to us as we didnât expect it. Presentation of dishes amazing. The drinks come with lovely presentations and interesting ways of serving them. Service was amazing as well, every single dish was presented to us with a good description and little show some. The staff were always smiling and doing their best. Food verses price, mmm probably not again, the price is quite high for the amount food you get plus that some of it wasnât to our taste. Both myself and husband are not picky eaters but that third dish was really off putting for us.

We stayed here on our way through the region. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. And has lots of parking. Absolutely recommend. There is also a neat castle you can walk to not far away (Dunnideer) and some standing stones.

Rooms not very large but comfortable and equipped with everything you need. Good (Scottish) breakfast. We didn't try the restaurant. Stonehaven is a pearl, the hotel is a stone's throw from the beach and the path that leads to Dunnottar Castle, from which you can enjoy views that are nothing short of marvelous.

Lovely to sit outside in the sun. Terrible customer service. The young girl that served me made no eye contact, very abrupt and sharp as she served me. Made to feel it was a an inconvenience. Staff need more training to be warmer, more engaging with customers. I wonât be back.

Scottish Salmon was an absolute sensation! Relatively quiet evening, not too busy. Waited for a while to be seated, but my server Maria was very courteous... asked me questions and patiently helped me with the card machine when paying. I eat salmon a lot and this salmon was cooked to perfection. The crushed baby potatoes were soft and buttery, the sauce was extraordinary! Would have like a little bit more asparagus, and puree... but that is all down to beautiful plating, as opposed to quantity đ The cesar salad was a bit weird, but it may just be that I was so wowed by the salmon that I was expecting something different and my taste buds didn't agree. Hence the 4 stars and not 5. My drink was lovely and cold, seating was comfy and everyone I saw eating seemed to really enjoy their food. Will definitely visit again when I am in Aberdeen.
