Grub Fresh Food in Aberdeen City

Really good value and amazing home-made soups. Would definitely recommend for a casual high quality fast lunch!!!!!!

May be some wraps can be good and original, but it’s standard fastfood. Porridge in plastic with one more plastic above etc..

Visited Grub recently for our lunch. Had a decent interaction during ordering and was all fine as we waited for our food. Unfortunately, the customer service skills became subpar when my panini was tossed at me onto the table as the employee’s back was already turning. The lack of politeness, and respect made this encounter cold and uncomfortable - as though she couldn’t get away fast enough. Watching my food get chucked in front of me isn’t pleasant customer service and shows a clear lack of manners. I did still thank her, and in a monotone voice whilst still walking away she muttered “welcome”. My boyfriend didn’t receive much improvement of an interaction, a very empty/cold exchange that felt awkward and again, like we were a hassle for being there. I understand the service is more efficient rather than a restaurant for example, but a simple, polite tone during customer interaction is still important for lasting impressions.

I came here Saturday around 12:00. The service was first class. The food was superb - I’d recommend the Mighty Zeus panini. They also do soup and hot drinks. The prices are exceptionally good value. I will definitely come back again soon.

Tasked with a couple of days work in Aberdeen, just around the corner, I found the location of Grub very convenient (59 Schoolhill, just off Belmont Street). My first impressions were great - I popped in for a Latte yesterday (and now this morning), both satisfied by the quality of the Coffee and the service provided. The little Lotus Biscoff Biscuit was a welcomed addition. Happy with the previous, I decided to give it a bash for lunch. Drawn to the meal deal, I ordered a Water, Hummus and Carrot snack pot and a Panini named ‘The Joker’, packed with Chicken Tikka. A decent lunch in all honesty (managed to get a seat inside as well). Word of advice - aim to be in here before 1pm, avoiding the foot traffic and potential queues from the RG school across the road.

The food was good but the 1 start rating is because of the service i got when getting lunch at the 148 Spital Grub. A lady with blonde hair was extremely rude to us, she was snappy and unhelpful. As we had never been here before and didn’t know what snacks or drinks came with the meal deal we asked her and she was very unprofessional with her answers as they were snarky. Obviously we all have bad days but that is not an excuse to be rude to customers. This will definitely mean i won’t be returning here.

All wraps and sandwiches can be made gluten free and they are delicious.

Ordered a vegan Diablo and after eating about half I felt the need to query if it was defo the vegan cheese and vegan chicken pieces used to which she replied "sh..I...t no I forgot it was a vegan 1".... so bad enough they gave me meat amd cheese but im lactose intolerant so that made either even worse.. I'd suggest some training on intolerances/allergies!

Don't get me wrong the food was amazing! BUT the fact that we ordered a vegan diablo wrap and a normal hammer of Thor panini, and on my wife's second bite of her wrap she thought this tastes far too good to be vegan! so I asked the girl behind the counter if it was definitely vegan and she replied OH S@#T! we got our answer and had to leave very rapidly as although my wife is not Vegan, she is lactose intolerant! The slightest whiff of cheese etc does some nasty things to her digestive system!

Had a quick lunch here. Ordered a combo, the chunky donkey baguette is yummy, and the soup is eatable. All in all, as a cheap and quick meal, it is not bad.

I've ordered from here through Deliveroo and the food and service are great. I've found a new regular place for lunch. Would recommend 👌

I work next to Grub so pre-covid I used to treat myself to a pay-day panini every couple of months, which I continued when we switched to working from home last year paying a premium for delivery to support a local business. The first couple of times it was great - my food arrived hot and the fillings were generous. I've ordered twice this year and and both times my panini has arrived cold and soggy with very little filling. I also ordered two sides with my order today and both were wrong upon delivery. Really disappointed that the service and quality are now so poor, would no longer recommend Grub and won't be back.

Disgusting service over 1 hours time to make food

THE best sandwich shop in Aberdeen. They offer a delightfully inexpensive offer of a sandwich, drink and snack. Don't be fooled by the seemingly youthful female staff - they can produce fresh tasting grub as though it were your 80 y/o grandmother. Situated next to the art gallery, I could not recommend it enough for a lunchtime endeavor or an early morning bite. My one compliant would be: can you not please open earlier!

Great food but very busy during lunch time on week days

We wished to grab something fresh and quick to eat, we came across grub and it looked authentic and cute. So we decided to pop in and grab a panini, the food was fresh basic and tasty for the price I can’t complain was good value. The staff a boy and a girl however looked miserable and acted miserable, we were the only ones inside when we entered, we were not greeted, they looked annoyed they had to do some work. For this I won’t return.

Menu is fantastic and the hot wraps are so delicious! Meal deal is a treat. Fav wraps are Scooby Doo and Vincent Mango.

They should be banned for fu**ing my palate with their extremely delicious food. Strongly recommend.

Fantastic Panini/Wrap Shop plenty of different options and toppings. You can either go with one of there pre thought of toppings or create you own. Love this place!, Prices are good and when you get it extra toasted so much better love it. 10/10 to Grub!, would highly recommend to anybody visiting Aberdeen!

Staff was super friendly and the food is delicious. The vegetarian/vegan options are great as well. There’s not a whole lot of seating area inside so keep that in mind.

Sad to be leaving such a negative review as Grub on Schoolhill has always been a lunchtime go-to!! However my last few visits have left me feeling dubious.... the preparation counter is always covered in food scraps and doesn’t appear to be cleaned between orders - I feel for those customers who are vegan, vegetarian or have food intolerances! Whilst waiting for my order today, I saw a member of staff eating some of the fresh ingredients WHILST making up a customer’s panini... after putting her hand to her mouth, she continued to make up the rest of the guy’s panini!! And as for the £5.50 meal “deal”... it’s hardly a deal when a sandwich is £3.95, a drink is £1 leaving 55p for a bag of crisps or sweetie! I won’t be back! 👎🏼

Great value for money, fillings are on point and loads stuffed into your wrap, sandwich etc. Staff are always friendly and helpful 😀👊

At £5.50, a meal deal here may be almost twice the price of one at Tesco, but this is definitely the place to come when you're sick of eating the same old ham and cheese sandwich that has lost whatever taste that initially drew you in. Perfect for the upcoming cold winter months and freshly prepared and toasted the spot, Grub is definitely a lunch place I would recommend - maybe not for every single day for the rest of your life, but it's definitely worth a try. On my visit here, I opted for the Bob Marley panini (chicken, mozzarella and reggae reggae sauce, if i remember correctly) which had a good amount of flavour to it and - not to exaggerate, but - it was potentially the best panini I have ever had in my entire life. At £3.90 for the sandwich alone, it's maybe not the best value for money and you could definitely make it cheaper yourself at home, but it was so tasty that I didn't even care about the price much - which is exactly what the goal of every good restaurant should be. I am excited to return to try more flavours!
