Excellent food served to me today, very tasty, very unique, excellent customer service, the owner Sharon who was in her cafe today, went out her way to greet me and welcome me to her establishment, I felt very welcome, Sharon had a lovely warm smile. The food was out of this world, and was given a magical love heart on my latte. Do not give up the chance to visit this cafe.

Visited Figment after a wee walk in Johnston Garden. Forest Farm ice cream collab went down a hit on a warm day. Neil, the owner, was so lovely and passionate about the beans he roasts! Will definitely be going back to get some beans (and ground in-house) for aeropress at home!

We walked to brunch at Figment and weren’t disappointed. The food and drinks were exceptional and the staff were very responsive, making up a portion of smashed avocado without chilli and coriander for my daughters. We had the ‘house’ avocado and it’s absolutely worth it 😊. The hot drinks (both coffee and tea) were delicious!

I live locally and have wanted to visit for a while but just never got round to it. Went today and was just so disappointed. The menu seemed to be just brunch items, we visited around lunchtime and fancied a soup and sandwich kind of lunch. Their specials were a sandwich or soup. My friend asked for the soup and a sandwich and was told that it’s either or not both. I chose their special of a pumpkin spice latte and a slice of carrot cake, both were excellent. The environment itself just seemed very… boring? I’m not sure what it was but just not a friendly environment. There were two staff members behind the till which just seemed like they didn’t want to be there. No friendly “hello” either when walking in. It’s a shame as I’d heard good things but I must admit, I probably wouldn’t be returning any time soon.

Milk frothing skills need work. The guy who served me told me the difference between drinks is the cup size. Not the texture of the the milk. Wasn't the coffee experience I was hoping for. They remade my drinks no questions asked but didn't seem interested in talking about the coffee.

Delicious coffee made with fresh roasted beans, nice staff and a mellow atmosphere. The owner, Neil, was lovely to talk to and he made me feel very welcome - his passion for coffee certainly translates to the quality coffee shop he’s opened in Aberdeen. Neil encouraged me to watch Figment’s origin story on their website and I’m glad I did, it’s an inspiring story and makes me want to support this independent coffee shop even more!

A breath of - independent - fresh air to the city. It's great to see a coffee roasters and shop doing well in a city that's done its best to destroy local business. When compared against your typical *big coffee* shop, there's no comparison, and there's a 5/5 review. They also do well as an independent roaster-shop but don't stand out massively It would be great to see slightly more variation in their roasts, but I do understand that not everyone would enjoy a light-medium roast. Regardless, every time I visit Aberdeen, I make the journey to support local.

Never seen signs before like those. "Do not choose your own table - we will assign you one" and "do not pay musical tables". Kind of off-putting for what is an otherwise nice coffee shop. Cakes are OK, My coffee was very good, but my partner's decaf was not. Staff were active but not particularly cheerful. I think the lady serving was probably the owner and her not-smiling demeanor was echoed by the rest of the staff. Shame.

Went after moving to the area about a year ago, food was quite good but price was unjustifiably high for what I got - my partner ended up eating something else afterwards. Thought I'd give it a try again, menu was super limited and coffee machine was not working. Ordered avocado and egg sourdough, which is something I can quite easily make myself but would be fine if the quality was good and something I couldn't replicate. Turns out I could have done better (and I'm a pretty cr*p cook) - one slice of toast, fairly tasteless eggs and avocado...for £11. Much better places locally that won't rip you off. A shame as it's five minutes away but I don't enjoy inadequate portions of overpiced, sub-par food .

Arrived at 2.45pm today Wednesday 21/2 - to be told we close today at 3pm it was carry out only. All we wanted was a cake & coffee of which they had plenty to sell and was more than happy to consume within the time required. As as regular to Figment many times over the last year or so - thought that was a very poor attitude by the Manageress / Supervisor on duty. With poor attitude comes a poor review, take note!!

A lovely place with REALLY good coffee and cake. Shakshuka we had tasted below average, should have ordered one of the toasts as they looked better. The staff were lovely and there were plenty of tables. Definitely has a family friendly vibe. We enjoyed our visit however coffee and cake are its strength. Staff were open to feedback (shakshuka eggs are supposed to be poached) and again really lovely which made a big impact. Gluten free options available and would definitely recommend

Disappointed to find a drastically reduced and very basic Tuesday menu. Was really looking forward to something off the normal, and usually very good, menu, as we were starving, but left having had toast, butter and jam. The place itself was absolutely freezing, so much so that most people had their coats, scarves and hats on. One of the coffees was not warm enough. Was happily changed for another but this time it was far too hot. Shame to say the place seems to have gone downhill since the last visit.

We were really looking forward to our brunch here, but we were left a bit disappointed. The coffee was great, but everything else was average. Definitely not worth the price. The poached eggs on our dishes had runny whites, and the yogurt on the Turkish eggs only tasted of lemon. However the atmosphere is nice, so a good place for a coffee and a pastry, but wouldn’t get the breakfast/brunch dishes for the price.

£3 for a small, bitter americano that takes ages to be made in an otherwise empty store. Don’t bother. Oh Neil – what a week we’ve had! It’s the keyboard warrior here. I gave you a one star review, you posted on Instagram, a minor social media pile-on ensued, and even a local news outlet picked up the story. Let me outline my experiences of visiting your café. We moved to the area in Autumn last year and have been on numerous trips to your place – usually me walking the dog there and having a takeaway white americano/ flat white. To be fair, walking into the building makes a great first impression. However, there then follows an entirely predictable series of events. The lady on the till is consistently quite rude and abrupt (I’m not the only one to say this – see your other reviews), then there is a wait for the coffee. But where to stand while you wait - blocking the exit from the kitchen? Loitering near the bottles of table water? Hovering beside someone else tucking into their brunch? When the relatively long wait for the hot beverage is over, the hound and I make our way home. And yes – I’m sorry – the cup size for an americano is small. The coffee, to me, tastes bitter (again – see your other reviews, this isn’t just me). This is quite frustrating, as I’ve gone out of my way to support a local business, paid a premium and got a sub standard product. As I’m walking home, I usually think about how I shouldn’t bother going back, but your place is convenient for Coop and it means the doggo gets his walk. I noticed your place closed over the winter for a ‘social media event.’ You’re clearly a social media guru, perhaps you should apply those standards when appraising customer feedback. The social media world can prioritise style over substance. I just want to be able to buy a coffee and enjoy drinking it. From your background in the oil industry, it is, perhaps, understandable to think the person shouting loudest and last probably ‘wins’ the argument. I don’t think you should be using the same approach for costumer relations in the café environment. Your responses to other low score reviews actually belittles and insults customers. My most recent trip, and the subsequent events, were a little bit different. The lady at the front of house held a long conversation with someone in the queue in front of me. This bloke didn’t order any food/ drinks and had apparently come in for a blether. So, a bit of time has been wasted – who cares? Well, and this might come as a surprise to you, when someone orders a takeaway coffee, they’re not looking for an experience, or are necessarily in your establishment to appreciate the décor and ambiance – they just want a drink, and to be spoken to politely. Let me round off with your response on Instagram. I refer to your description of my comment (and I’m quoting you directly here) as being ‘petulent, keyboard warrior bullshit’ and ‘unfair’ and how my response is ‘nasty.’ It looks like bcam71 with his ‘I’m going to have Ollie iced. Consider it done. Fire up the roaster. We may need some after hours cleanup (sic)’ is somewhere on the nasty spectrum? What, actually, makes me quite sad is the fact that a number of low-score reviewers have made almost EXACTLY the same comments and you are failing, consistently, to address these issues. Still a one star.

Good surroundings within which adds to the atmosphere and a handy place for the area. Coffee is a bit bitter for my taste. I typically drink espressos but need to make it a flat white here. The flat whites are good though. Food is OK, portions seems small for the price of some choices. Service was better before the pandemic, customers are left to their own devices. I hope the management can take the review positively to improve rather than badly as witnessed in the past.

I’m not a usual poster of reviews, but I saw a recent bad 1 star review and thought I’d balance that back out with some truth based on several visits to this place, which is 500yds from my home. I drink a lot of coffee, at home, at work and when I’m out, over 35years of drinking the stuff, I’ve had plenty of bad cups and plenty of good cups. If some one asks what’s the best coffee you’ve ever had - it’s not in some far flung place or from a cats backside, it was from Figment in Aberdeen. It’s pretty clear they’ve done the leg work for you and got it nailed on what good tastes like, yeah it’s not franchise quick but it’s a not a lengthy wait, couple this up with a cinnamon bun which is also ranked #1 in the cinnamon bun taste test and your are on to a winner. The other special to look for on the lemon and blueberry French toast - that’s also a bit special. Everything else from the menu was fine, as you’d expect, freshly cooked and tasty but the 3 above (coffee, buns and french toast) were next level. Lucky to have such place in close proximity…. Go on the treat yourself…

It’s pretty informal and low-touch in terms of staff interactions but I’m ok with that. You queue at the till to order - the service after that was quick and friendly enough. ……I have been a regular at Figment since opening but as time goes by I find myself enjoying excellent coffee and food on a very regular basis, on my own or with friends. A friend and I were virtually first in the door yesterday, we were both welcomed in, the cafe was warm, and bright and we very quickly settled into our usual seats. We enjoyed our first coffee and tea and then went on to our food which was brought to our table in good time by Sharon, who asked if we had everything we needed. We both enjoyed our well presented and very tasteful and generous portions of food. I hope Neil, Sharon and the team are there for many years to come, we have a real gem in the area which we need to appreciate and support, I know I do.

I love the Noose and Monkey, a local pub feel that has been so welcoming to friends and family I bring along from far and wide, who always ask if we can go back. Lovely staff, who genuinely want to ensure you are having a good time, rather than just asking and moving on. And food that is a hefty punch above your standard pub grub. Always my go-to place for lunch or dinner when people come to Aberdeen, to know we do have some great places here! The Rorie pie is always worth a punt. Rorie would be delighted. And they let dogs in, which is always a good measure of a place!

I love it here a very relaxed atmosphere with great staff, great food and great drinks options no cocktails on this occasion. But the cocktails are what puts this place on the map.
