Four Mile Inn in Aberdeen City

It was empty at lunchtime. Portion size wasn't great but fine for the money. If you want a cheap meal it's acceptable.

Brilliant burgers. New ones each month. Service amazing. Brilliant atmosphere.

I had already given a 5 star review, but without text and I still wanted to do this so: At the beginning of November my girlfriend and I were in Aberdeen for a week for a Strongman comp and we visited this restaurant and cafe several times. We enjoyed a delicious steak twice. On the evening (Saturday) after the comp we celebrated with a large group of friends at the Four Mile, enjoying a drink. The staff is very friendly and flexible with wishes. The group consisted of different nationalities and we were welcomed by the local guests with a smile, pint and storys. Everyone sang and danced together. We will definitely be back this year.

Great food, went on New year's Eve, busy but staff were attentive, never felt like there was much of a wait at all and never felt unwelcome or overly crowded. Glad we decided to stay close to home for the holiday rather than in town

Went here for Christmas dinner simply because i live so close by. Food and service was absolutely brilliant. Excellent value for money. I would deffinately consider going here again if eating out on Christmas day. Staff all so lovely! Fire on! Perfect

Great pub with very helpful and professional staff. Good food options. Pity we didn't realise that we had to pre order the festive menu meals before arrival so had time just have the normal menu options. Would definitely go back though. Good to have some vegan choices too.

We decided to have our Christmas Dinner at the Four Mile this year so that there was no driving involved and we were so glad we did. We had a terrific time which started with a surprise choice of Prosecco or Bucks Fizz as we arrived which was a nice touch, Sharon showed us too our table and Fiona took our drinks order we both had the Smoked Salmon starter and Sea Bass for our mains ( yes we love a piece of fish) during this time the Prosecco and Gin Glasses were taken away and our bottle of Sauvignon Blanc arrived along with the main course. My wife felt there were close to fifty people eating but the service was absolutely terrific no long waits and plenty of smiling staff dealing with all the tables, We finished with Christmas Pudding and Custard and were so full we couldn’t manage the Coffee and Mince Pies maybe we’ll manage them next year as we are definitely going to book here again. I would just like to say a big thank you to Sharon and all her Team for providing us with a smashing Christmas Day Dinner.

We stopped here for lunch. There were many tables reserved which was fine but we had a bit of a wait. The food was ok but not the best from the Green king franchise in the city. I was a little bit cold and it wasn't the most comfortable.

Fantastic wee place. The food was amazing, well worth a visit for this alone lol. The staff were very friendly and helpful even managing to get us a table when fully booked 😍

We visited from 5.30 to 6.30, having two mains for £12.99. Incredible value, and tasty, decent sized portions.

I remember visiting the Four Mile back in 2021 when we were in lockdown, and I couldn’t praise the pub enough. Oh how times have changed! First off, I will preface by saying I did attend with 4 family members on a day when I knew the pub would be exceptionally busy due to a local event, and I did ensure to book to avoid disappointment. I did expect being busy would slow things down a little, but this really did take the biscuit. Basically, it took us 45 minutes to get food obviously warmed in the microwave and, quite frankly, not very well. There was one member of staff on the floor until about half an hour in when another decided to join her. One member of staff when every single table was booked up. Now, If there was meant to be more than one member of staff on then it should be highlighted that there wasn’t, and she was 100% thrown into the deep end and effectively abandoned by her team. The food was terrible. It wasn’t even bad for pub grub, it was just plain bad. It was flavourless, lukewarm, took a ridiculous amount of time etc. There is one saving grace in this establishment, and that’s Kath. She is awesome. She went above and beyond with every single customer, making sure everyone was taken care of even when one staff member shouldn’t be expected to do that all on their own. She is a fantastic example of excellent service, and any praise for how this evening ran deserves to be given in her direction only. She is an absolute credit to The Four Mile. I think days like today are the bread and butter of a business, but the management clearly didn’t put enough staff on, either on the floor, in the kitchen or behind the bar. That caused huge back ups and delays, and caused a very bad customer experience. Again, none of this is feedback about Kath. Quite frankly, she’s the best thing about the Four Mile based on my experience this evening!

Didn't have food but did have coffee which was lovely. Staff were so friendly and nothing was a problem. Will go back.

So glad we went in whilst walking past tonight. We were in the cusp of the end of serving hours but they kindly allowed us to eat and were very lovely and helpful with it. They even allowed us to sneak in some extra 🍫 calories for pudding 😄 Heather was lovely and friendly and kudos to Andrew for doing to desserts as well. Salr and pepper 🌶️ chicken hit the spot although watch out for the 🌶️ as they are 🔥🥵

We arrived after a long day of travelling and we have just picked up supplies and we popped in for a bite to eat it was close to the closing of the kitchen but Heather was super helpful called the kitchen and was happy to take our food order. After we had eaten we asked if we could get dessert and once again so helpful even though Kitchen was closed Andrew the chef kindly agree to prepare our desserts fantastic service and super accommodating.

Normally just come here for a drink or 2 but decided to give the food a go. Lounge was very busy due to live football on a Saturday night. Huge credit to the staff for the service. Food was very good. Steak cooked to what I asked for. Not big quantity but well presented and value for money. Will be back. Well done staff 👏

Dog friendly bar, great service and friendly atmosphere with the locals.

Pub came recommended from a friend so we booked as were going to P&J live due to traffic we were late. Table was kept for us and we had a variety of different dishes and each one was very enjoyable, cooked fresh and piping hot service was quick and staff were all polite and helpful

Excellent meal here pre theatre at P&J live. Lady doing it all on her own so a wee wait fir food but we'll worth the wait too. Very reasonably priced too. Would recommend. But Book very busy at theatre times.

For visiting the P&J concert venue this inn is ideal as close to centreI Be warned to book in advance a d give your party plenty of time as customers were having to wait over an hour and fifteen minutes to get their meal served Staff seemed to be in very short supply (1 waitress and 1 bar person ) on duty for a fully booked reataurant Orders were also very slow to arrive from kitchen and not necessarily in the order they were placed When manager arrived and was asked for a discount on Bill the customer accused of jumping on the band wagon This would never have happened if more staff in kitchen and in restaurant were available On a good note when it did arrive and you had time to eat it it was very tasty and not

Came in to watch the football with my wife,we ordered 5 dishes from the menu.Two of those were the chicken strips,the pulled pork tacos were really nice,the hallumi fries were great ,my wife loved the battered haggis.only downside I suppose its £2.95 for a can of coke .

We had lunch this week, a mix grill and a burger food was fantastic, and service was 5 star very friendly even when they were just opening 👌

One of the only places we found open on Sunday night. The beer was cold, and the food was lovely. The young man running the bar, and the restaurant was very attentive and didn't stop. We were pleased we stopped here.

A quick Google to find a doggy friendly pub brought us along to here. Rang for a table, and got us in on a Sat night which was great. Food is just what you expect from a pub- but done really nicely! Ordered the honey chicken burger, katsu chicken curry and kids nuggets and all of us were happy. Plus, the football was on so my hubby was happy! Definitely a recommended place to visit if you’re with your furry friends and want some pub grub.

Went with the wife for lunch. It was lovely. I had the fish and chips , which was tasty, the batter on the fish was nice and crispy and chips was crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. My wife had the hunters chicken which she also enjoy.Reasonably priced too. We will be returning at some point in the near future.

Met up with freinds for dinner best thing about the place is the staff barmaid was lovely freindly very helpful. The food was mediocre at very best and that's being nice macaroni had not seen any cheese .gammon was that overcooked it was hardly eatable I gave up half way through katsu curry was dry and tasteless and steak was very overcooked

Decent beer and food prices a great find in Aberdeen

Great food, amazing and friendly staff. I was traveling to Aberdeen. I saw this restaurant and decided to stop in extremely happy. I made this decision after traveling for a week and eating at pubs and small places. This place felt like a hole cooked meal at great prices. If I am ever in Aberdeen again, I will be going here

Close to the Travelodge, comfy friendly atmosphere. Nipped in for food, great selection with specials offered. Staff were friendly and helpful having made no reservation. Great value food. Three drinks and two main meals for less the £30 can't be bad.

We dined here several times while in Aberdeen for a few days. Excellent pub food and friendly locals. Walking distance to our hotel (Aloft). Highly recommend.

The menu was extensive and what we had was lovely, I chose from the seniors menu, I am not that old 😊 and it was enough for me ! Would we return ? Most definitely if we are ever in the area again !

Don,t Bother unless its for food. Some of the "Bartending" staff are more interested on being on their mobile phone than serving customers, give the impression their carrying out Community Service rather than tending bar !!!! & doing you a favour when you do get their attention.

Was a good time there friendly staff and great food

Went here for buffet after funeral, booked for 25 people. Even though we arrived 30 mins earlier than booked this was not a problem . Staff were very helpful and met our needs. We had sandwiches ,sausage rolls, pork pies chips, salads and coleslaw. The tea and coffee were complimentary. Although the rest of the restaurant was busy the food kept being replenished. This was a place we used to go to anytime we were in this area as family stayed close by. Would definitely recommend even just popping in for lunch or dinner.

Very busy one barmaid on poor girl rushed off her feet got fed up waiting so just left get a grip this pub could be a goldmine what a waste

Fish is too die for. Unfortunately have visited a few times since now has new manager not impressed at all . Restaurant was fully booked however only had two staff on for both bar and lounge.Total shambles people waiting for meals that came out still frozen queues to pay at bar . Very poor management considering they were fully booked should have at least 4 staff on . By the time another staff member was called in rush was over . Witnessed people just walking out some without paying. Have worked in hospitality for many years . This was a total shambles.

Never, ever been...so first time for everything. Very clean bar, was welcomed by a lovely Heather, very friendly, happy and an amazing bar person. We had a bite to eat 10/10 compliments to the chef. Overall definitely be back, thank you staff who made my Sunday extra special

Went along for lunch at 1.30pm. Easily got seated and staff very friendly. Asked for recommendations, and had the fish and chips based on this. They were delicious! Would visit again

Really gone down hill. I used to live not far away and Claire was great. Now the place is just a dive. Full of grasses and snakes in the grass. Avoid now at all costs. A shame. I'll never go back and have warned all colleagues from up north the same. It's not the quality of the pint or food that's lacking. It's the customer service that lets the place down so badly. As the old song goes, "it's the attitude, stupid,"! The staff really need sat down and bollocked. Told that they are not doing the customers a favour by serving them. I understand a lot of customers can be difficult, however that's the name of the game. I stuck up on the notice board at Lossie and Elgin police station never to stop here, simply due to the attitude of the staff. Very disappointed overall. Hopefully, someone will recognise that there is room for improvement and maybe make things like they used to be. Once upon a time it was a friendly local, community place. Sadly not anymore.

Came for Christmas dinner and got no meal. Was absolutely shocking. Chef didn’t turn up and manager was cooking for about 50 people. Was offered again to come back for free 3 course meal and drinks and I can say this made up for it. The manager came to apologise and Heather the waitress was amazing. Catered to everything we wanted. Couldn’t have been more attentive. Was checking on the table constantly and making sure we was ok. 10 out of 10 for heath. The chef from Christmas Day came to the table with a terrible excuse for letting everyone down on Christmas, I must admit him standing behind us all for 5 minutes was not a nice experience. Heather though really made up for our terrible day

Even though we phoned to say we would be late due to weather they did not tell kitchen was closed. We had driven 70miles and had to find somewhere else to eat.

Booked table for family on Christmas Day costing £50 for adults and £30 for children.On arrival went to bar to order drinks and was told it would be table service only so sat at our table expecting to be served quickly as all pre-ordered and paid.Almost an hour later starters arrived for most of table but myself and my grandson.After two reminders my soup arrived cold and my grandson didn’t even get kids starter? Another hour later mains arrived again for some of the table and most people finished by the time rest arrived which ruined the experience as would be nice to eat together and this caused me anxiety.Finally pudding arrived and was shocked at the portion of Xmas pudding (very small) Had to keep looking for staff for a drink so not happy at all.Went out for a smoke and spoke to another family who were leaving as they were so angry as they had only starter served to them and were there half hour before us and little boy was hungry and they demanded money back and went to garage for sandwich which I found was shocking on Christmas Day.We left at 6pm after 3 hours of waiting and was so upset I just went home and not to my neighbour as I usually do.I really wanted to have an amazing Christmas with my family and this experience has ruined Christmas and will never return again.I hope the manager reads this as I will be looking for compensation.How dare you treat people this way ? You offer a service and fail big time so I trust someone will be made accountable ??

My daughter and son in law had pre booked here for our family Christmas dinner. We had paid and pre ordered weeks before so there was no excuse for what was to follow. It started well and our drinks order was taken just after we sat down. However at no time were we told that the starters would be nearly 90 mins before they would arrive. After an hour I complained and was comped some drinks. The starters arrived and were eaten but then, nothing. Still waiting for the main course which eventually turned up 2 and 1/4 hours after we’d sat down. In the meantime my daughter had to leave and go home with her 2 small children as they were so hungry. Their Christmas dinner ended up being pasta. When the meal finally arrived not only did it look unappetising it was inedible. I complained again only to be told by a member of staff that he’d given up his Christmas to work and that I shouldn’t be complaining. I kept asking to see the manager but I was constantly told she was unavailable because she was cooking. I did finally get to speak to the manager and I asked her if she thought this was acceptable and how would she react if it were her family. She tried to defend indefensible and when she couldn’t she stormed off. Another group heard her say “get him out” I felt so sorry for my daughter who was crying when we got home. This was not her fault at all. We did eventually get a full refund. It reinforces that old adage. You get what you pay for. Ergo we paid nothing and got nothing!

Ordered the Katsu chicken and the fish & chips. Took about 30 minutes for me and my friend's food to arrive but it was delicious so I can't complain.

Had a wonderful hearty supper on a blustery cold night in Aberdeen. They were dog- friendly, and very welcoming to us. Hospitality/ service was amazing. The food quality was excellent and a great value for the cost. We were so impressed, we will definitely be making this one of our regular stops. Absolutely fantastic. Went for a meal after a long day on the road. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming and friendly. Staff were incredibly helpful and polite and the food was flawless. They also put a *big* emphasis on making sure the kids were served first and looked after. I couldn't recommend enough. What a lovely place.

Had a lovely meal here with my daughter before an event at teca. She had macaroni cheese and I had gammon steak. Best gammon steak I've had in years! Staff very friendly and helpful, food delicious and very good value.

I have been waiting for nearly 1 hour for my mix grill steak.. I have never had to wait so long for food, there is also.others waiting as long. Its not even bus the bar was under staffed for a Friday. I also seen another table waiting more than 1hr 35 mims for burgers that's even after staff where told. Shocking

I like to Thank one of the Staff from last night (Jackie) she was so nice to our Dog 🐕 she even give some of her Fish supper for a treat to our dog ,our Dog will defo look for Jackie on her next visit.

Food was dire had a chicken bacon and leek pie with a side of cheesy garlic bread. The pie was stone cold. I sent it back the SECOND time the pie was even colder. I ended up getting a refund. The barmaids were so helpful and very apologetic. I'll only ever be going there for drinks from now on lovely atmosphere but drinks only. The only reason I'm giving the food 1 star is because I can't take away a star. I'm a chef I'd just finished a 12 hour shift and thought I'll have food to save me cooking. I ended up cooking anyway

Been here a handful of times while working in Aberdeen but this was the best visit made fantastic by the barmaid/waitress/probably(should be if not)supervisor working tonight. Didn’t ask her name but was dark haired, smiley, slim and had a plaster on her arm as though she’d recently given blood (for staff recognition purposes). Welcomed me and gave me the option of table service, ran through the menu and told me that the gammon was unavailable but gave alternatives, gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble. Bubbly personality that really uplifted after another week away from home. Genuinely, the best service I’ve had in Aberdeen. She didn’t stop working for as long as I was there and as I left she was busy with other guests but gave me a smile and a wave through the window as she cleared another table. I hope Belhaven Pubs have a staff recognition program and I’ve given enough detail to make sure credit goes to where it should. Thank you!

Lovely wee place for grub. Belhaven owned so set menu. Good food.

Booked for a meal as staying in a nearby hotel. Was a bit disappointed as we gad checked the menu prior to booking and when we arrived the munu was not the same . The choices were far less, I had the fish and chips, and it was pretty poor also ordered a pitcher and could not taste any alcohol.

I went here for a few drinks and a pub meal. It was great. Lovely lively atmosphere, no dramas, nice people. Nice traditional pub food. Nothing special but that's the point, traditional not messed with,good value, good food. The place does look slightly ropey from the outside if you haven't been there before. But if you're from out of town like me, don't let that put you off. Go in. You'll have a fun friendly night

I don’t usually put 5 stars for everything when I go out to eat I am making an exception for the four mile bucksburn my friend and I had lunch there today and we could not fault anything the chef even came to our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The food, staff,atmosphere what’s not like! I totally recommend this establishment

I have not been to Four Mile Inn for many months and thought we would give it a try, 2 meals for £12.49 during week great value. We ordered an all day breakfast and the chicken and leek pie. The pie was okay, nice flaky pastry and a portion of gravy with lovely mash. The all day breakfast was appalling, we arrived early evening and the eggs and bacon looked as if they had been cooked at breakfast totally inedible. The lady who served us was lovely and asked if we would like something else so chose another dish off the menu. I had finished my meal and 25 minutes later still no sign of my partners. Found the waitress and asked to check what was happening she came back and said the chef had forgotten!! We were not happy but she was apologetic and gave us a voucher to use at another date. We gave it another go to see if this had been a one off bad experience. Arrived at teatime waited for 20 minutes for a member of staff to show face, no staff at the bar, young dark haired girl laughing and joking in the bar with customers and another member of staff, whilst a queue of people waited in lounge to be served, we decided to leave and go elsewhere, 2 other tables also left at same time and commented how downhill the service had become, the clientele were mostly all over 50 and the music was pumping more suited to a club! Not appropriate for this establishment shame as other equivalent Belhaven pubs are really great.
