Delicious Sandwich Takeaway & Coffee Bar in Aberdeenshire

I walked past the cafe with my son in the buggy at 14:38 (states they close at 15:00 online) and asked the blonde female employee outside if I could order a sandwich for takeaway. Was told, in a defensive way that they had ‘already put everything away’. I understand it can be frustrating when people want served at the last minute (I used to work in retail), however this wasn’t a minute before close time - the cafe should possibly change their advertised hours if they can’t serve customers beyond 14:30. It’s a shame as it’s put me off visiting again, and I like to support local businesses as much as possible, especially in Ellon as I live nearby.

Lunch with a friend, decided to try here as my friend said it was good. She couldn’t have been more wrong! Walked in and there was one table left in the corner (it is a small cafe that also does take away food) we went up to order and I could not see a food menu on the wall, just a hot drinks menu, I asked a member of staff behind the counter about a food menu and got ignored, finally at the till there was a small menu, we both ordered separately. I ordered a tuna melt panini with side salad with no onions (I saw the woman write that down on the pad) (to be told that the side salad was an extra £2.00) thought it was a bit much but ok. We went to our seats, I had to wipe the seat down as their was dirt and crumbs on it. Table joined on to ours was not clean and there was marks on the windows inside and there was dust all over a fake plant to my left. Right now I was thinking I wish I had not paid for my food upfront because I was already disappointed. We waited a long time, Lots of people were coming in and picking up stuff and ordering. Some even leaving before they even spoke. There were people who had come in after us to order soups, sandwiches and what not who got their food before us. How does that make any sense? While we waited my friend noticed she had been over charged on her drink and her food as the menu price is not what she was charged, I looked at mine and found the same issue. We both agreed not to bother just eat and get the heck out of this place. Haha Finally we got our food and my first reaction was what the f*ck is this. Onions all over the plate when I had specifically asked for no onions (intolerance) Both of our salads looks absolutely disgusting! Cucumber was dry, salad was well past its best before date was soggy and yellow. Tomatoes were so mushy. Not worth £2.00 at all!!! I didn’t even eat any of it and neither did my friend. But my friend did try the coleslaw and said it was disgusting like it was made with cheap mayonnaise. Panini was nice tho. No one asked us if the food was okay, no one said a thing. It’s like they didn’t care. Also another thing they are doing is passing off cosco baking as “home baking” and Charging not reasonable prices. (Bought the same sort of cakes from cosco myself is how I know) We only came here as our first choice symposium was full.

It is a fabulous place for lunch. I recommend you go here. Seating inside,outside , and you get to take it away.

This little gem of a place is tucked away just off Bridge Street in Ellon, The sandwiches are amazing and the Pea & Ham soup is to die for.. The staff are wonderful and know everyone who comes in the shop.. Big shout out to Lesley who is lovely and always has a smile..

A real gem in the middle of Ellon,tucked away off the Main Street....An array of lovely homemade cakes and freshly made sandwiches and soups..... They also serve delicious hot food.... It’s well named ( Delicious). Try it, they won’t disappoint....

Excellent place for sit in ot takeaway lunches. Sandwiches prepared in front of you and you can choose fillings to suit. Friendly staff happy to accomodate to your needs. Souop, stovies available. Selection of soft drinks and coffee to die for.

This is a great cafe serving fantastic food. I regularly purchase takeaway sandwiches from here and they have large selection of sandwich fillings. All the food that I have purchased has been excellent. The staff are great and I would recommend this cafe to others.

I enjoy a cheeky sarnie from Delicious if I can't be bothered to make lunch. A short walk into Ellon and a sandwich made for me, a sit on the outside tables and a nice stroll home is always a good way to do lunchtime!

Tasty, Fresh Sandwiches for any occasion, all served with a smile, and at vey reasonable prices. Handily placed in Ellon town centre.

I've visited a few times now as the food has always been great. There's a huge selection of sandwich filings and options and the prices are very reasonable. Good fast and friendly service too. love all of the homebakes too!

Amazing food, from soup to sandwiches paninis wraps special coffees/teas. Home made cakes/fine pieces Visit here minimum twice a week.. for either breakfast, lunch or just a coffee with friends/family. Staff very friendly and specially the cook/baker always tries to accommodate special requests.

The coffee here (from caber) is excellent - and the carrot cake is the best I have ever had Sandwiches are always good, staff are friendly and helpful.

Amazing food.. Cakes and sandwiches are home made and amazingly mouth watering.. wonderful service and very helpful staff, Here many times a week with all 4 children sometimes and high chairs available and service great to help with kids portions and lovely smoothies and got and cold drinks. Normal tea and coffee to Latte's, and special teas something for everyone. Special home made cheesecakes, soups choose your own fillings request your own and they will do there utmost to provide if they can. Phone ahead and order to eat in or take away. Deliveries around the local area to homes and businesses. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I love going to Delicious for lunch - it's always so fresh and really tasty! However today I had a peppermint slice, which is usually my fav but was sadly disappointed with the base of the tray bake. It was too think and took away the lovely peppermint taste replacing it was more fudgy texture. I recommend more of a biscuity base half the thickness :). I'll always come back though!

En un día frío los stovies o sopa son realmente buenos. Habiendo trabajado en la esquina de delicioso por un número de años, he probado muchas cosas en el menú. El relleno para sándwiches y paninnis es enorme. Sándwiches son siempre recién hecho a la orden y el pan integral es uno de los mejores que he probado. El servicio es estupendo, el personal es siempre amable. Siempre he encontrado la comida buena relación calidad-precio, especialmente comparado con sandwiches de supermercado! No tengo quejas de mí, y si es un café, que es muy bueno.

I have visited here several times for takeaway. My favourite is I suppose Stovies (on one day a week). However the sandwiches leave a bit to be desired. The filling can on times be a little lacking but in fairness the bread is superb. It is better than a "mass produced" sandwich and hence gives it a bit of an edge in that department. It is not as good as when it first opened.

We recently ordered 40 rounds of assorted sandwiches for a family gathering. They were far from delicious, thick bread with very little filling, overall very disappointing.

I was in past last week - my first time so I dont know if the new charge on plastic bags has gone to their head, but Delicious charge 5p for a paper bag!I asked for a coronation chicken wrap, and got something other than coronation chicken - it wasn't that tasty either. The tray bake - a lemon slice, was nice but expensive. So for a wrap, a juice, crisps, and a tray bake it was close on £7 and they wanted me to pay 5p for a paper bag on top of that - I just passed on that as I think they'll find the new charge relates to plastic not paper bags! I'll take my customer elsewhere in future as there are other shops that aren't so expensive and have better customer service in Ellon. There didn't seem to be much delicious about this place.My first time here, looked clean enough, but the staff took a while to serve me, even though the shop was empty when I went in. 3 members of staff but none serving!

On occasions we have been delightred with the food and on others very disappointed. Seems dependent on who serves you as to how much filling in in your sandwich! Cakes way over-priced. Recently gone downhill.
