We were at the Drouthy Laird in Inverurie for carvery and it was amazing- gluten free Haggis Bon-Bons to start which were delicious, then carvery where everything was gluten free except skirlie and Yorkshire puddings- the chef was amazing and made gluten free cauliflower cheese specially for me 🤩there was also gluten free sticking toffee pudding but I was too full 🥴it’s been lovely to feel being gluten free is special, not a problem 😍

Excellent donuts, fantastic coffee and very warm welcome. The place was busy with cyclists refuelling: soup smelled delicious. Our treats were so good we went back to buy more to take home for breakfast!

Had lunch here on a cold wet day. There are a couple of pavement tables but it was not a day for sitting outside. The soup was ideal and very tasty. It was noticeable that the staff were exceptionally helpful towards customers with mobility problems, going outside to help one person out of a car and through the door. Very heart warming.

We have come to Ballater for years .. this is a new kid on the block . Small menu but that makes this all the better .. Had a delicious Cajun chicken burger on a toasted brioche bun .. delicious ! Lovely staff , modern cosy eatery . Couldn't fault it ... Love it .

Really great choice. Service and food were great. My bacon and brie sandwich with chilli James served with crisps, salad and a wonderful coleslaw was just really tasty and filling. Toasted cheese and ham sandwich made to order looked great. Pea soup was really good. Just a great stop for a really posh sandwich lunch ( prices reflect that it's.more than just a sandwich shop - so that's fair).

Visited here for Sunday "carvery" whilst staying onsite. Service was excellent by all staff members, however we were expecting a carvery where you help yourself to a selection of roast meats and veg. This wasn't the case it was just a regular Sunday roast prepared in the kitchen and served at your table. The roast itself was very average, the only veg being peas and carrots along with cheap tasting pigs in blankets. This was priced at around £21 pp for 2 courses,I think it was done as cheap as possible. Although the food tasted absolutely fine it was by no means anything other than average and definitely not a carvery.

Colin and Maggie are so welcoming at the Station Hotel. There is a great atmosphere in the place and it is very busy, the hub of the village. We had an evening meal which was excellent. Great choice on the menu, huge portions and everything came out piping hot. Great value for money too. Highly recommend and only wish it was in my hometown.

You need to find your way through a chemist's shop and then upstairs - but it is worth it! We stopped for the soup and sandwich deal; a bowl of hot home-made soup, thick with lentils and chunks of bacon and a chicken mayo sandwich stuffed full and with salad and crisps. Delicious and a bargain.
