My wife, who had been here before with a friend, suggested that we pop n for afternoon tea/coffee. I was impressed with the service here and the scones were very good. The Stitch House is not only a cafe but a community hub. They provide an outlet for the sale of local crafts which are well displayed, not only in the shop but also in the cafe section. On entering the cafe section, there is a small kiddies' play area to the left. They also provide a Youth Cafe on Friday and Saturday evenings where the youngsters of the village can meet in a safe environment. I was really ipressed with these premises and will certainly be back.

Had lunch here on a cold wet day. There are a couple of pavement tables but it was not a day for sitting outside. The soup was ideal and very tasty. It was noticeable that the staff were exceptionally helpful towards customers with mobility problems, going outside to help one person out of a car and through the door. Very heart warming.

We were passing through and so pleased we stopped and found your café. Your daughter makes the best scones I have tasted in years, and the flap Jacks were delicious. Some great gifts and art, in the gallery. Hope to return in the future.

Travelled 2 hours after reading reviews about this cafe - which seemed like an idyllic place to take my mother for coffee and cake, bit of scenery and a day out. Checked winter opening times which advised opening at 11:30 on Sunday - We arrived slightly early and enjoyed a short walk. We decided to go back to car when THE cafe had not opened by 11:50 - when at the car we saw a lady open the cafe - so excitedly made our way over. I asked the lady if the cafe was open for coffee to which she replied "it is but the kettle takes an hour to boil" and she walked away. Very disappointed. Had the opening times stated 1pm -- there would have been no issue. However no explanation or apology given.

Visited here for the first time when driving South from Aberdeen. Lovely cafe here with more seating than you first think (plus outside when the weather allows). Great home baking selection...enjoyed a scone and a custard cream biscuit with cups of tea then could not leave without taking away a lemon and coconut slice! All 10 out of 10. Friendly staff made us feel most welcome and I have already recommended here to a couple of friends. We look forward to stopping here again.
