Lovely place, great food and cosy sitting space inside and outside just the coffee not great, tastes very poor quality

The Tartan Pig catered our small conference with sandwiches, empanadas, cakes and traybakes. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and we had lots of people asking us who supplied. Fantastic service and very reasonably priced, we will definitely be using them again.

Savita serves you the authentic Scottish dishes to easy on the go meals. Crispy chicken and panini were my fav.

Best Cullen skink I’ve had in my life. Friendly staff . Clean, bright and delish.

We had dinner and a 40th birthday party for our daughter in the function suite. The meals were excellent and the late buffet catered for everyone, with vegetarian items clearly marked. Staff could not have been more helpful, especially Steve, Paula and Jackie.

Food excellent. Service excellent. Atmosphere excellent. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Will definitely be back.

Been coming here for yeeeears and it never disappoints!!! Celebrated our 10 year anniversary with our favourites.... Rye Old Fashioned and the dirtiest of dirty Gin Martini!!! You guys are all amazing, make us feel special evertime we're in, even when the place is packed... which is always, make sure you book! If not a seat at the bar watching the magicians.. sorry mixologist is well worth it!!! Cheers guys and see you soon!

Nice place and beautiful surroundings, but I think I got food poisoning from the hot chocolate- likely the milk. I only had water before going to the Riverside Cafe and a hot chocolate (from there) that day and couldn't eat anything after, without being sick. Even after 4 days I'm still struggling to eat anything and feel generally ill. Really unfortunate as the place was lovely. Hopefully it doesn't happen to anyone else and something that the team will be careful of in the future.

Soup was ok, but the wraps was disgusting. Ordered wrap with extra meat fillings, and couldn’t feel any meat , felt only heated veggies, never asked if I would like any sauce in it. Also waiting for 2 wraps and soup for 30 mins unacceptable. Won’t be back again and won’t recommend to anyone

We booked a table for 4 on a Thursday evening. The name of the restaurant kind of suggests that this might be a vegan/vegetarian only venue - it couldn’t be further from the truth - there is certainly a full vegan menu but there is an extensive menu offering non-v/v options also. All three courses that we ordered were creatively put together and well presented and cooked. I have scored down for atmosphere as the restaurant/bar was very very quiet on the Thursday evening when we visited. Based on the food service the restaurant should have been booked up. Aberdonians/visitors - if you’re not eating at The Braided Fig you are missing out. And as the saying goes - use it or lose it. Alas, the large braided fig tree in the centre atrium is no longer - a victim of Covid it seems? Even though it remains in the restaurant/bar and is hanging onto most of its shrivelled leaves for now, it does feel like the restaurant might want to invest in a healthy replacement at some point as the old fig tree is now in a rather sad state. Overall, very happy with our meal and would definitely recommend it to others.
