Walked in to an immediate unwelcoming atmosphere where employees were silent and on their phone. Lack of greeting so decided to take a seat, unsure of how to order. Staff watched from a distance which was slightly unnerving. Menu has good options yet considerably overpriced. We were over £25 for two continental breakfasts plus a smoothie and coffee. Price would’ve felt more justified had the rest of the experience been more positive. However, did enjoy the decor and ambience, nice to see local items for sale too. Interestingly, customer experience appeared dependent on relationship with employees. A couple who entered received a much more warm/friendly interaction. This therefore detracted from other customers receiving proper attention as all of it went on the couple’s dog. When one of the employees wasn’t sitting cross-legged on the floor stroking the dog (hands-washed after?) they were both at the till gossiping loudly. There is no issue with chatting as work is happening, but let’s acknowledge the condensed space means voices do carry. Overall a mixed bag. The space has potential but the importance of how it is presented by employees arguably weighs more than how it looks.

Website promised a lot but the reality was somewhat disappointing. There were no specials on a Tuesday at 1.45, Was not made aware that they had a menu other than the pies I asked about. Grumpy girl taking the order then forgot to include the pickle until I asked where it was. Pie very nice but overall a huge disappointment and I would not return.

Lovely little coffee shop but the food was a huge letdown. We both ordered paninis and they came out having barely touched the grill. Sent them back so that the cheese would at least be a little melted and they came back again barely even warm. Real shame.

Came here Saturday around 12:30. I got a soup & sandwich which tasted really good. Price was £9.95 which was quite expensive. I couldn’t get on the WiFi but there was a sticker that said it was available. Tap water costs 50p which was a new one for me. Service was good and the place had a warm/cosy vibe inside. It’s also dog friendly which was a good thing.

What a brilliant little cafe we discovered this place on social media and when we visited the city it wad on the top of our list to visit, and we weren't disappointed. We had our three dogs with us and were made to feel so welcome. The food was amazing. Best BLT I've had in ages and the old school cake they serve was heaven in a cake slice. £5.95 for a bacon sandwich. This is steep so you'd expect freshly cooked bacon probably a decent bit of it. What I got was a stale roll with bacon that must've been cooking all day because it was rock solid. Not even much bacon in it.. or perhaps it was a reasonable amount before every drop of moisture was blitzed out of it Two star only because staff are friendly

I used to love this wee cafe, friendly service, delicious waffles. I was in at the weekend with a friend and it just was not the same. The service was cold, as if it was a hassle ordering anything. Staff were very nice and friendly but unfortunately that’s where the good points end. Selection of cold drinks were very poor with cans of coke being the only type of fizzy drink, everything else was weird fruit drinks or water. We had breakfasts from their menu and were told if we wanted sausages we’d have a 35 minute wait so we gave them a miss. Potato scones where like a cross between leather and cardboard with the rest of the breakfast not being much better. Prices are far from cheap so would definitely expect better for £18 for breakfast for two. We had read some good reviews for here so we’re sadly let down with reality. End result is we won’t be returning.

Have been a couple times before and enjoyed the food but this morning we sat for 25 minutes and nobody took our order - or even said hi to us. A couple arrived a few minutes after we did and they were greeted by the waitress, had their order taken and drinks served to them in the time we were waiting. Disappointed as both times I've previously been the service has been good, and the food great too. But 25+ minutes to wait to get our order taken is ridiculous, would then have had to wait for food to be cooked - and not even a bubble waffle is worth that. Won't be returning.

We visited around midday on a Sunday. There was no bacon or sausage available. Running out of Sunday brunch ingredients is basic stuff. What I did order was overcooked. Yolk of the fried egg was wholly hard, again kinda unforgivable for a café specialising in breakfast/brunch. No condiments on tables either other than brown or red sauce.
