Popped in here on our way to the airport from northumberland. The ladies who served us were so warm and welcoming. The scones were handmade and delicious. So sad this little gem isn’t on our doorstep because we’d be here all the time to chat and eat if we could

Great selection of treats, lovely staff. We even got a free highland toffee bar 🏴 . Thanks folks!

Stopped at Brunch Box on a whim while road tripping from Edinburgh to the Lake District, could not have been happier with the service or the food. The woman working there even happily made a off-menu item for my vegetarian girlfriend.

Well, I couldn't have imagined last years Christmas lunch could have been beaten but WOW....had the most fabulous meal from the Christmas set menu this week and it truly was exceptional! Presentation and flavours were beautiful. As always the service and atmosphere were also superb👌

Regularly visit the Juniper Lea for our dinner usually on a Saturday afternoon, food is always fantastic and very reasonably priced. Always get a warm welcome from Carly or one of the waitresses which is always nice. A must is the fish and chips always a 10/10.

A hidden gem in a lovely setting near Edinburgh. Friendly service, the best bacon rolls ever, delicious scones, cakes and traybakes, along with excellent coffee or tea and a variety of soft drinks. A bonus is the craft work on sale made by local artisans. Can't recommend it enough! Eliz

Filthy as usual. Thursday and Friday always the worst!! Tables loaded with dirty dishes, food on floor. No tea spoons or napkins. Take forever to serve.

A locals pub but a friendly one! We were there around lunchtime and it was quite quiet. There is a larger area at the back for dining but unfortunately the kitchen was closed on our visit (Monday) so I'd like to visit again on another day to try the food. There are some lovely historic details including beautiful stained glass windows. Spotlessly clean ladies loo.

We booked this as a pre-Christmas treat, but it was really disppointing. The waiting staff were brilliant - very friendly and attentive. It was the food and cost that let it down. The 'Cullen Skink' at £17j turned out to be a lump of potato with a scone on top, surrounded by bits of fish. The waitress then poured the soup part over it. My husband said it was only just warm. I asked, when ordering a burger, if it would be well done, and was assured it would be. It was actually properly raw in the middle so had to be sent back. My daughter had a breakfast which was delivered without an egg to start with. I ended up eating my burger on my own because it took a while to be re-delivered. It's a real shame because Restoration Yard is a wonderful environment within a great park. Seems to me The Kitchen is trying to be upmarket but really not hitting the mark apart from the waiting staff.

We usually enjoy coming here for coffee and cake or a light lunch but today was disappointing. We were there around 1:30 pm. There is a large blackboard showing the soup options, specials etc. and I ordered the roasted squash and red pepper soup with a cheese scone. My husband ordered the cullen skink and a cheese scone. The person taking our order said sorry but that they were out of the roasted squash soup so I ordered the cullen skink. Off she went then came back to say that sorry they were also out of cullen skink. I then asked for the quiche, but they were also out of quiche! At this point I asked why these items were still shown on the board to be told they were too busy to remove them (honestly, how long does it take to wipe things off a blackboard??). We both ended up ordering the broccoli, leek and cheddar soup which was so over-salted that I left more than half.
