This spot is brilliant for a nice chilled meal, not rushed to eat given plenty time in between courses, food is also great staff are well mannered

Look.. this place is lovely and has the right setting no doubt has the potential to be great, friendly staff. But the food I had today (steak pie with chips) was not nice. The chips were burnt and my steak pie was like a pukka pie shortcrust pastry all I could taste was the buttery pastry. I won’t rush back but I may come back and try something else at some point. Maybe it was just an off day for the chef with his burnt chips.

Tried this place for the first time yesterday wont be the last excellent service and food best roast we have ever had it was quite busy and had a good atmosphere and the waiters did a great job running about for everyone one table was particularly really loud but that’s not the restaurants fault will be retuning soon

this is the 3rd time we have visted the juniperlea in the last year or so and we absolutely love everything about it! We have recently had the most amazing 2 night stay in the pod, which is absolutely faultless, its so clean and cosy with everything in the room needed including a lovely continental breakfast with lots to choose from! the bed is the comfiest bed we have ever slept on!! hot tub and all other things included in the pod is 10/10. We also had dinner and the food was really delicious and staff very attentive! we ended up chatting to the owners carly and graeme and they were so nice and down to earth. I cannot recommned this place enough!!! we are already planning our next trip here!

Stayed for 3 nights with husband and 2 dogs. Room was superb, great size and lovely decor. Breakfast already in room for the following day. Excellent choice of granola, yogurts, cereal, bread, cheese, chutney. Coffee machine and kettle in the room. Everything you could ask for. So accommodating with the dogs aswell as bar is also dog friendly. Great pub food and good value for money. Hosts were superb and would not hesitate to come back at any time. Added bonus is they serve my favourite starter of nachos with haggis. Just gorgeous.

Disappointing experience when this was once a great establishment, over priced and too small portions for average pub grub and certainly not well enough cooked or presented for al a carte, try 10 miles down the road at The Winton, a small distance but a world apart.

Two amazing meals here and fantastic, friendly service. We were staying locally for the weekend and this was recommended. We came back the second day again for more.

What a little gem of a place soup was great and pate was delicious, star of the show was the fish basket with great calamari rings delightful scampi and an amazing crispy and flaky haddock absolutely stunning, cajun burger was a tasty bit, finally a nice biscoff mousse and a superb creme brulee. Me, my wife and daughter stayed in the pod for a few nights on our honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing and enjoyed by us all. It’s in such a peaceful and tranquil setting and absolutely perfect for what we were after. All was clean and spotless. The pod and the restaurant are well laid out and designed with everything having an attention to detail. The added bonus was the hot tub at the side of the pod which was very nice, warm and relaxing. We chose to have lunch and dinner in the restaurant each day as all the dishes we had tasted absolutely amazing, our particular favourite dish was the fish curry that tasted as good as one I have eaten at Rick stein’s restaurant in padstow. I am really looking forward to my return and stay the next time we visit Edinburgh!

Booked the Pod for the weekend…. It’s brilliant. Greeted very nicely from the moment we walked in the door. The pod has such a great layout, wee perks and treats on arrival. The hot tub tops it all off as well. We were so chilled here, loved the views over the farm, and wow….. the food is amazing!! 🤩. Coming back here for sure! We were having an overnight stay at this lovely Inn,staff were very friendly and welcoming ,decor was tastefully done ,room was very clean &fresh ,evening meal was of a very good standard and very filling ,we would highly recommend the steak pie which was full to the brim with meat and wasn't too spicy ,drinks were reasonably priced .we had a good chat with the owners Carly& Graeme who we found to be very nice . Breakfast was continental and served in our room ,the selection of cereals, croissants, cheese ,meat ,pate ,yoghurt ,fruit juice etc was excellent .We enjoyed our stay and will hopefully return in the near future .Alfie&Corinne Kennedy from Kilbirnie Ayrshire .

Called in for lunch on way to rugby last weekend. Warm, friendly staff and lovely menu. Burgers are tasty and a good size, quick and efficient service. Well worth a visit.

now NEW Lunch today . Beautiful interior and nice and warm. We were kept for ages waiting on main course (forgotten about). Food was really poor , which was a shame. I don’t know if they had no chef or no staff Thank for your reply Carly , really how would you have rectified, meal being a hour late and also being terrible ? We were there for a family 40th celebration and had kids with us, and did not wish to ruin our day any further. My dog enjoyed the kids burgers. Also , we were not the only customers who were let down. I witnessed a lady complaining about the macaroni she had been served. This is the 2nd time I have ever written a review on line , so that’s an idea of how poor the food was. Spending £200 , I would have expected better.

Where do I start?! The food is divine!! My wife loves a roast and as Hogmanay (today) is a Sunday she ordered this and it was amazing! Really good quality and hearty food. I had the Scottish burger which was one of the best I’ve had. The burger was fat, well seasoned and juicy with the fab triple cooked chips. We were the last people in this evening but weren’t rushed at all and the owners spent time chatting to us and making us welcome. Can’t wait to go again.

The best Sunday roast I’ve had in years in Midlothian. The beef was tender the seasonal was so tasty! I sat by the fire and the atmosphere was homely, the staff were friendly. Will definitely be returning and next time I’ll be leaving the car and trying some of the cocktails I seen being made! 👍🏻

Hands down best roast beef I’ve ever had, roast potatoes, mash, veg, red wine Jus, cauliflower cheese and a big Yorkshire pud. All delicious!! Hod 2 large glasses of the house red and bill was £45.00 ish for 2 which is great value. The restaurant was busy but the stay were friendly, funny and attentive. Place has a really nice vibe and I heard chat about Christmas and Cocktails. Would def visit again.

Popped in on way back from Lauder with our 3 granddaughters who loved their meals. Beautiful decor and food was delicious and pretty reasonable. All staff were lovely.

I was here with family having an over night stay as we had a wedding reception near by. The rooms were were very comfortable and spacious. It had everything you need and had a real homely feel about it. The shower was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. The owners are so welcoming and nice, they were at the bar serving and brilliant to have a chat with. The food was great, good sized portion and the burger was amazing, so juicy and fresh. Overall it was a great stay, i will defintley be back for a quite night away with my partner in the countryside and i highly reccomend to others looking to do the same.
