Never had food but had a wee family party was a good night

With a heavy heart I write this review but this is my hubby and mother inlaw out 4 hur 80th bday meal we let mum pick and this was hur only choice bless hur. We had a great time and we all enjoyed it sadly we lost Suzanne Patterson, after a bad fall on hur beautiful garden 🕊🪶🪽 but we have great memories from here so we came bk after we went 2 funeral parlour round the corner thank u 4 these memories made

Happened upon this place with my family (3 kids 10, 11, 13)… it was excellent… much nicer than expected! Food was great, tasty and great menu selection. It was also about half the price we’d been paying in Edinburgh. For example… pints of beer were £3.50 instead of £7 in Edinburgh. Kids menu was awesome and the pizza was the best we’ve had so far on our UK trip! Would love to go back!

Chips were inedible pretty much as so hard.veggie hurger judt not good

Couldn’t fault our random visit to The Beccleuch, the staff were brilliant including the chef! I’m gluten free so the full Scottish breakfast was tailored to suit my gluten allergy and it was super tasty. A bonus is there was a gluten free beer too! Highly recommend!

We arrived at the buccelch at half 3 and we waited an hour for the food and the food turned up and I had ordered a burger that was very burnt and I had paid an extra 60p for bacon on it but it wasn’t on the burger

Paid over £11 for the smallest portion of Mac and cheese I’ve ever seen! Absolutely scandalous

Went in for lunch. Had the haggis fritters. Nicely presented. Pleasant and friendly staff. More than I expected and will go back

Fab waitress seemed it was only her and one other running quite a busy day and she did a fab job, very kind and friendly. Food was good simple pub food. Enjoyed! Bathroom seemed under renovation lots of loos with no locks and a strong chemical smell, this will probably be sorted very soon though! Cheap, cheerful and fab staff x

Avoid this place. We went in for breakfast, ordered at bar and the girl behind the bar gave me our drinks. Paid for food and drinks and went to table. After about 30 minutes (!) I asked when can we expect our food. Girl said there had been a problem and she will find out. Came back and said it is just getting dished. I asked does that mean food is now going onto the plates and she replied "No" !!! I asked for my money back and the manager came along, gave me my cash and I thanked her and she replied "You're welcome". No apology whatsoever. Why on earth could someone not have come to our table and let us know we are not getting fed? No way will we be back in there. Oh and the ladies toilets are awful, no flooring, no lock on door and no lid on cistern!!!!!!!

Ordered fish, chips peas and tartare sauce and haggis bon Bon’s with whisky sauce, so turned up to a fish and a handful of chips with no peas or sauce and Bon Bon’s with no sauce told nothing they can do just to phone just eat 🙈

I and friends visit the Buccleuch regularly never had any problems till today was in with my granddaughter 26 and they wouldn't serve her even when I went up and told them her age very disappointed as the staff know me won't be back

Saturday night had more staff than customers bit of a shame as it looks like a good pub, great prices but not a fan of the postmix coke

Ordered two starters, breaded mushrooms - the only good thing out of the order and haggis bon bons - 4 small bon bons with watery whiskey sauce for the price of £6 odds is shocking. For mains, ordered 3 steak and ale pies with chips what a disaster, meat was like chewing on an old rubber boot and pastry just disintegrated. Was really looking forward to this but extremely disappointed, safe to say won't be ordering here again and to top it off missing a red bull! just awful.

Service was impeccable. Lovely and friendly staff that couldn’t do enough for us. Food was good too but the staff made our experience 10/10.

Paula was the kindest women ever! I spilt my drink all over myself and she offered her hairdryer to dry my jeans. Not a bad word to say about her she was lovely!!!!

Took an hour and a half to be delivered and the food was freezing. It had obviously been sitting out somewhere as everything we ordered was also disgusting. Wouldn’t order again.

Really enjoyed my visit here on a cold, rainy Saturday. It was so warm and inviting. Plenty of space for groups to meet.

The breakfast we had had was top notch, freshly prepared, excellent ingredients and had everything on our plates, service was friendly and welcoming too,highly recommend and we will be back for more soon

Steak pie was disgusting, meat was solid, chips were cold. Gravy was horrendous. Avoid at all costs

Visited the Buccleuch Pub for breakfast and had a great breakfast. £12.95 for the big breakfast and a latte. They even give you 2 biscuits with the coffee. The big breakfast is a big breakfast 2 of everything. Beat me.

Was over hour late my red bull was missing and food freezing

This is one of the worst food delivery experiences iv had. We placed the order approx 3hrs ago, the time for arrival kept being changed. We then phoned the restaurant to enquire where our food was and were told it had just been picked up by the driver after already being an hr late. Waited approx another hr and then it stated it had been delivered when we have not received anything. Also have tried ordering food over the past few wks, has taken my order 3 times and then states order has been cancelled. The service has went downhill from.previous use

Went in for drinks, service was very friendly, didn't wait too long at bar, atmosphere was good when we were in, very clean,comfortable area, all staff were very polite & friendly,a nice relaxing time had.

Afternoon tea was absolutely brilliant, well worth the money, home baking was delicious, service was first class, definitely recommend

This is my 4th time coming here for the lunch and every meal has been excellent! Service is quick and staff are so lovely. Local pub atmosphere and very family friendly. Dogs are also welcome which is always a plus for me! Highly recommend!

Awful service. We arrived with our 2 children for an after dinner drink. Unaware of the policy we had to purchase food to have a drink with kids in our company (a child and newborn baby) we were told we had to leave by one of the female waiting staff (evening of 30th September). We accepted that, so offered to buy one meal or bar snacks so that we could stay for a drink, having just eaten and being full up, but were told we’d all have to order a meal. We then tried to phone a taxi to take us home promptly, but given it was a Saturday night it was a challenging task to get a last minute taxi. The same female staff member then came over to us and instructed us to leave after 5 minutes in a hostile manner. We then stood in the rain with a 3 year old and 5 month old and had to walk home having not secured a taxi. We will not be back and would advise against.

Place is dirty, carpets sticky, fabric seats are disgusting felt dirty sitting on them once I noticed how dirty they were, people behind us got served first. Tried to give us plastic cups instead of glasses. Locks off the bathroom doors, toilets in a mess. We finished the one drink we waited a long time for and left. We won't be back. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

Mushrooms missing from large breakfast

Had an afternoon drink, mostly older people so no need for loud music, keep it down in afternoon turn it up at night, sorted!

Good food, all the drink you'd like and prices OK but more expensive than a Witherspoon but no too bad. Live music Sundays and open late on Friday, Saturdays.

Wish I had read the reviews nachos are awful asked for no guacamole n it was all over them!!!! Sharing platter states chips I got nachos lol chicken goujons we’re 4 tiny bits of burnt chicken on the bone. First and last time il be ordering from here!! AVOID

Wouldn't recommend ordering from here. Items missing & the food that was delivered was burnt & the chips are rank. Phoned them up about it, basically got told not there problem & to deal with just eat for a refund. Terrible service. Terrible food.

Nice food and very friendly staff.

This was a nice sit down pub experience. The food was good and the portions were massive. They even brought my steak out still sizzling. If I had one point of contention it's that the music was so loud my wife couldn't hear me talk to her. We were near a speaker though so I can't really fault them. She studied abroad in Scotland 11 years ago and The Buccleuch was one of her 2 favorite places to eat. Definitely recommend.

My sister and I Popped into the Buccleuch today for the first time we both had different meals and both of us really enjoyed what we ordered lovely staff and a plus Dog Friendly im sure we will return again.

Fantastic meal today I got the pensioner meal my husband got the fish can't fault it the service was great I would definitely recommend this bar I was able to bring my wee dog in

Staff are amazing, friendly, and helpful. Can't thank them enough for always making us feel so welcome and comfortable. Food is always great.

Great tasty and good value lunch with parents and husband today. New Grill menu launched this month and great Gluten Free options (2 of us are Coeliacs), also half portions available for parents which suited them. Staff were very pleasant and efficient, and we would all thoroughly recommend

Girls night out. Fairly busy with some cheesy tunes to get the party started. Always a good laugh with a fairly decent crowd. Reasonable prices. The kitchen was closed on our last visit unfortunately not sure if that's a short term thing or not.

It's ok, beers cold, plenty TVs for the football etc. Wouldn't eat here, just doesn't give me the warm fuzzies for food. Also floors are sticky as hell, no chance creating up on anyone lol 🤣

Worst night out! My friend was punched in the face by some junkie for no reason! I run to tell a bouncer and they reply “can’t get involved”. I am young girl trying to stop my friend being battered. I took 3 punches to the head by some random man! Never again! We end up leaving and we are the ones that got hit for no reason! A joke if you ask me!

The burger meat wasn't good quality, the meat itself was dry and bland. The toppings were lacking - one had an onion ring and not a drop of bacon in sight. The buns in both case were also dry to the point of being stale. The chips were clammy and tasteless. Will not order from again.

Friendly staff , and though it was quiet when I visited, I usually pop in when I am passing as the prices are very reasonable.

Terrible, Lorne sausage was pink in the middle, very pink. Bacon was burnt, not crispy. The Macaroni Cheese though, offt that was terrible. Absolutely tiny portion, despite being £11 and it was cheese bouillon not even real cheese. Awful, embarrassing

I ate at the buccleuch yesterday,we had a nice meal good falue for money,friendly staff members, will definatly go back soon thanks.

Brilliant food every time we order , had the BLT and the club as well as the brisket burger . Amazing quality and perfectly cooked and hot on arrival.

I order chicken Balmoral and got chicken and bacon, Was nice, would have been annoyed if I hadn't have ordered a side of haggis bon bons, Main was covered in the sauce. I'd have thought its coming separate would have been better. The burger didn't come with coleslaw as stated! The food was quite nice, A few things could have made it better.

Poorpoor show stood for 20 minutes waiting to be served while the wife sat on her own. After asking if i was invisible then getting served after another customer mentioned i had been waiting for ages the barmaid 🙄 dodnt know what sailor Jerry's was. Last time ill be in this backed up butcher shop

I have to agree with others that the prices are too high for the food you receive. Order a ham and tomato sandwich. Didn't realise it was a toastie so not really that nice. Handful of chips and a little side salad. £12?? Think I won't bother ordering from here again

Unfortunately not this visit ,I was there the week before and the service to be kind was rubbish a bar person ignored me and the place was very quiet I have been in the trade for over 50 years I was taught when a customer came in you acknowledged that person was waiting to be served time there was a better method to dealing with the customer's

My wife and I got two burgers. They were mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price. It said it would include onion rings, which neither of us received. Each burger was £12, at least 4 or 5 pounds overpriced for the quality we got. Disappointing outcome, probably won't order again.

Very dirty, floor extremely sticky, tables sticky, disabled toilet didn't look too clean.

The mac&cheese was like red box cheap cheesy pasta. The pizza was flavourless. I like the buccleugh for drinks at the weekend but the garlic bread was even terrible there was hardly any garlic on it! Very disappointed

Price is high, portions are small. Was hoping this place was good since it just opened up but sadly we are left unsatisfied due to food being cold and the size of the portions compared to the price is shocking. No value for money whatsoever. Two things on the order where missing too. I hope they do well in the future but I won’t be ordering from here again.

Visited here on Saturday to watch the Scottish Cup Final. Place was really busy, think there was a childrens party on. Kids were running around the place, staff carrying drinks and food, no-one said anything to them. Where were the parents!! Also kids at the pool table, ended up standing on the pool table and hitting people as they went past with the pool cue! Again staff walking past and said nothing. Where were the parents!! Terrible afternoon with no-one taking control.
