Sooo sad that this wee gem of a cafe has closed. We always went inpast on our way down to the awards in Glasgow and our trips down south. Always such a delight to visit. You will be sorely missed for your wonderful soups, sandwiches and lovely home baking. All the very best to you all for the future in whatever you choose to do.

Lovely breakfast/ brunch selection. Great price. My husband & I had hearty breakfast, for £22. Dogs are welcome, which is funny

So sad.. this was our go to cafe 2 years ago.. a beautiful building and a buzzy atmosphere. Always full. Good coffee an array of home bakes (GF, you name it) and lovely lite bites. First day back in the island, we made a bee line but despite the lovely welcome and a good cup of coffee NO food other than a bowl of soup and a doughnut. The place was empty.

I was cycling from Tomintoul to Bridge of Cally when I got caught in a biblical downpour and then the temperature seemed to suddenly drop about 10 degrees. This was in June! I couldn’t feel my hands and despaired of ever making it. Then I saw The Lair as it is now called. I stopped and the lovely ladies made me hot chocolate, gave me cake and dried my gloves on their Aga. A lovely, warm and welcoming place that saved me in a dark moment. Highly recommended.

My daughter treated me to afternoon tea here today. Although I’ve been before this was a first for the afternoon tea. We both enjoyed it immensely. We loved that the savoury selection was served first and the sweet after we had finished that. Both the selections had a great variety and a great amount, so much so we left with some in boxes. I don’t think we’d go anywhere else now for afternoon tea, I don’t think anywhere else could touch this for quality and value for money. As always the staff were so pleasant as well. We didn’t have a dog with us but love how dog friendly it is ( we have brought a dog in the past) . We had reserved a table as not to be disappointed as it’s a busy wee place. Thanks to the staff for a great experience

Great reports about Lucy’s but honestly the worst service I have experienced in a long long time. Food was average but what was shocking was how bad the service was - to the point that after spending half an hour trying to order coffee we got up and left. My recommendation, avoid the place.

Happened upon this wee cafe on a quiet Sunday evening. No problem to seat and feed 9 of us promptly. Great and efficient service from a charming young woman. The menu was varied and everyone enjoyed what they had. Burgers looked particularly good and the pizza was delicious. We all had two courses and drinks. Affogato was a delight! We would definitely return if visiting Rothesay again.

Went with my family for dinner tonight. We got a warm welcome on arrival and the staff were very attentive. The choice was ample and would please all tastes. The portions were more than adequate and freshly made. I would strongly recommend that you give the Cornhill a try but book in advance as very busy restaurant.
