Now called 'The Lair', it's a small place and very easy to drive past - you'll regret it if you do! Easy parking and with a view over the fence where the neighbour has deer (and a lot of them!). A collection of spotless clean tables, and a well stocked serving area, freshly made cakes and fancies - I do recommend the fruit scones with jam (get them warmed up - fab) - they use china teacups and saucers too! Loads of gifts and those rare things nowadays - post cards! Really friendly staff - I'd give them 5* EVERYDAY.

We were served rather abruptly by a tall, slim woman, who told my partner she didn't need to wear a mask. My partner replied she is in the habit of wearing one, only to be told "that's not a very good habit". I didn't know that cafes were now providing free Covid advice but I'd rather consult a health professional. The drinks and cakes were spot on, but the visit was marred by Madam Grumpy.

The setting may be ideal but beware. Either those who run this place are experts in public health and know more than everyone else or they are completely ignoring all regulations re. COVID. None of the staff wear masks, no check in required by visitors and no hand sanitiser on entry/exit. Staff spend most of the time gossiping amongst themselves.

We recently stopped by and ordered leek and potato only to be surprised it contained cream and milk, not what we were expecting, traditional Scottish Leek and Potato soup does not include these ingredients, we both have a slight aversion to cream we did not enjoy or finish the soup and would never have ordered it knowing the extra ingredients. The proprietor was a bit defensive but did not charge for the soup. However we know people with serious aversions to dairy products and feet the labelling was inadequate. It is a nice place, we have stopped here several times over the last few years but are unlikely to visit in the near future due to this issue.

Considering its remote (ish) location, the Wee House of Glenshee is an average location. It would appear to be more of a trinket shop versus a place to get a meal, but if you want tea? That's OK. If you want a coffee beverage? It will come out of a machine, and will just be average. I did have a bowl of soup, but it was OK. I don't think they make much of their own stuff here, but maybe, stick with the baked items? I can't vouch for them, but they looked pretty good. Lots of cakes and scones etc. So, if you just want tea, I'd recommend this place.

My husband and I visited on Saturday and found just what we needed after a long drive. The young lady waiting tables was curtious polite and enthusiastic. The range of delicious cakes left us spoilt for choice so much so we took a second helping away to enjoy on Easter Sunday. I enjoyed perusing the wide variety of gifts and novelty items for sale and again felt spoilt for choice. The scones warmed in the arrga served with fabulous raspberry jam and plenty of tea refreshed us wonderfully. My husband liost his glasses on our trip and though they weren't found at the Wee House they replied promptly to our emails to let us rule them out of our search. Just one thing could be better, coat of paint and refresh in the toilet. Thank you for a great stop off experience.

My daughter and I have just returned to Somerset after 5 days stating in Spittal of Glenshee. We drove past this beautiful little place on our way to the log cabin we were going to be staying in, it looked intriguing and we said we'd call in during our stay. We ended up visiting twice! Well..actually twice in one day and again the next day!! The lady serving was incredibly polite and friendly as was the man who also works there. I highly recommend this lovely place..they have fabulous gifts and produce, delicious cakes and a good menu. We'd love to say we'll be back soon but as we live 9 hours away that sadly won't be the case. However, next time we holiday in the Cairngorms we'll be sure to visit! Thank you for such a great place and for being so welcoming

Wee House of Glenshee is a perfect rest spot for a road trip. The Cairngorms can get lonely, so take every advantage of this perfect stop! We had many km to go, so our stop was quick. The cakes are delicious! You MUST try their cakes!!! A worthy reward after a day of hill walking or a perfect break in the middle of a road trip.

Had our frst drive to Spittal of Glenshee for years and stopped off at the Wee House Cafe. Gorgeous bowl of soup - which was filling - but we just had room for a scone with home made jam. Wonderful. Good service and a lovely shop.

worth a visit for quality coffee, they have a limited menu but what we had was of good quality. my home made pea and ham soup was full of flavour, my partners cheese selection and oat cakes and crackers was also of very good quality. home made bread and cakes also delicious. The cafe also combines a gift shop which again contains items of quality for children and adults. Not the normal tourist rubbish.
