The Eatrium at Gillies in Perth & Kinross

Popped in for lunch today. Ordered the coronation chicken baked potato, kids macaroni cheese and ham cheese pickle toasted sandwich. Amazing hot chocolate. All very tasty and will be back soon for cake which I couldn’t manage today! The service was fab and super welcoming for my daughter.

Very friendly staff who gave us lots of good explanations about the food. Toasts are wonderful and freshly made and the scones are delicious. Recommended with clotted cream and rasberry jam! Worth a visit!

We visited the cafe on Thursday 28/9/03 for lunch. The food, I had a haggis & cheese panini which was excellent and something which I had never seen before. The staff are friendly and the cafe has a good atmosphere. We had come from Broughty Ferry and it is a shame that there is not a cafe like this in Gillies flagship store.

People visiting Perth don’t seem to know this excellent tea room exists as it is on the top floor of a furniture shop. The food is very good and the staff are very friendly. When we visit Perth this is where we go for lunch in preference to other restaurants/ tea rooms in the City Centre. The prices are very reasonable in comparison with others nearby.

Was in after breakfast cut off, but chef still made stuff from that section of the menu. Staff friendly, decent menu, very reasonably priced. Food was tasty and coffee was good. Nice range of cakes.

In Perth for festive lights switch on popped into this hidden gem for a amazing food experience of a Open Smoked Salmon Sandwich along with a warm mince pie with cotted cream to say nothing of the hot chocolate just spectacular.

We have been customers at the Eatrium for over two years. Recently taken over by someone else. The coffee which used to be excellent is now horrible, cheap and nasty. The whole feel of the place has gone badly downhill. I've spoken with friends who also visited recently. They concur with what I've written. Kisa is much nicer and just across the road.

I have been to the cafe several times previously and the food and choice were excellent. Today however was very disappointing. The steak and onion sandwich wasn't a sandwich. It was on two bits of toasted bread, one of which was partially burnt. The steak was flavourless and tough and the onion was dry with no flavour. There was no element of decadence which you expect with a steak and onion "sandwich". The cafe is clearly under new management and very regretfully I will not be going there again.

My wife and I visited Gillies today for lunch. Great food and even better service, spotlessly clean lovely surroundings.Angie the supervisor (she told me her name when I asked, and told me she was supervisor now I know why this place is sowell run) A very smart well turned out young lady, well switched on no wonder this place is Excellent. In this day and age we are all to quick to complain this place fantastic very well run very very clean a testemont to good supervision. If you get a GOOD service we should let the staff know, as we did. Angie would be a asset to any business. This is not a huge place and it’s up 3 flights of stairs inside a furniture shop but the view is nice. As you walk in you can see full floor to ceiling windows over looking the concert hall. And if something is on in the area you get a good view. As it’s situated inside a shop they only serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea plus cake coffee and scones. The food is a mix of soup, sandwiches and toasters or baked potatoes with a choice of fillings. The food is prepared fresh, if you get a good angle you can see in to the prep area. There is a good selection of cake, tray bake and scones if that’s what you want. Overall the food is good. A wee salad with the sandwiches. Bread with the soup. Place is really clean and Urdu and the staff are nice and friendly. Also it’s reasonably priced too

Popped in here for a quick coffee but couldn't resist a cheeky lorne roll. Service was fantastic, seated, order taken and food coffee arrived in no time at all. The flat white was perfect. I'll be back.

Apparently under new ownership and Quality and service has deteriorated very vast. Appear to be using cheaper ingredients and have insufficient staffing levels. The latter may be due to Covid but a little bird tells me it is due to cutbacks. Used to be very high quality home cooking and fast friendly service. Now appears to be bought in cheap rubbish and people who would not understand customer service if it bit them on the proverbial. Many of the regular excellent staff nowhere to be seen.

Waited 45 minutes for my food not to arrive and yet the waiting staff seemed totally unmoved when we left. No apology or even interest in the situation. It’s a good venue being spoiled by very poor service. Avoid!(Written from Brew&Chew where my food arrived in 5 minutes)!

Disappointed. The place is clean and bright, and the setting was wonderful but the cakes were dry and the scone was stale. We were made aware, only after we ordered, that we would need to leave by 16.50 as the furniture shop closed dead on 17.00hrs. As my husband has Parkinson’s he is very slow and mobility is difficult, so he had to leave without finishing his tea. I am afraid I am unable to recommend and unfortunately will not return despite the staff being friendly and apologetic for the pressure she was under to close by 16.50hrs.

This popular cafe sited on the 2nd floor of the furniture store, offers table service, a good selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes and scones, main meals are also available, it has an open kitchen which can be a bit noisy.

It's more than a year since we were here, but standards had not diminished in that time, service was quick and cheerful,great selection of cakes and scones, modern decor, we'll be back!.

Went here due to reviews but it’s just like marks and Spencer’s cafe. We sat a while while two other tables got served we were about to leave when they came for order I had toast and decafe coffee which was bitter as over ground hubby had tea black pudding roll and toast. He scalded himself on the tea pot as it was over filled and there was no atmosphere in there.

This cafe is situated in the Gillies Furniture Store in Perth .Tables are very spacious and a relaxing felt that you can sit here and just chill.We had our 3 year old Grandaughter with us and the staff went out of their way to make sure she she was looked after - nothing was too much bother The food was really nice too, washed down by a tasty cappuccino Prices very reasonable with a good selection. Excellent staff in all departments. James shop manager and Angie restaurant manageress are great assets to the store. Always made welcome by all the staff whenever you go in.Would definitely recommend it. Scones and cakes all made by Angie and are soooo good.

My wife and I had. Light lunch whilst shopping in their current sale. Coffee was delicious and we both had Eggs Royale (Smoked salmon, spinach and poached eggs on a roasted muffin). Table service for snacks and light lunches! Highly satisfactory.

Not unusual for a eatery to be in a department store, table service makes the difference, though small a really nice place for a brunch and catch up with friends when in the town. Service is professional and welcoming. Not to expensive though depends on your view. Good place for a relaxing coffee, bit of lunch.

This is a delightful cafe with large windows which look straight out to the Concert Hall and Museum. On a sunny day it is a delightful view and it makes the cafe light and airy. Situated on the second floor of a furniture store, they have a range of food and drink to cater for most people's needs. I was there mid afternoon and it was obvious that it was popular with people having an afternoon cup of tea. As usual in a nice cafe, I struggled to choose which of the many nice looking cakes I would have, and I was very happy with my choice. I will certainly return.

Lovely lay out in the restaurant. Very friendly staff. Extensive menu. Great selection of scones. Very fresh. Mine today was raspberry and blackcurrant. 2 pats of Lurpak butter and jam. Large cup of Americano coffee with hot milk. All for £4.80. Well worth it. Could not fault anything

Went on Saturdayfor a treat for afternoon tea. What a let down . One sandwhich cut in half twice , two awful shapeless scone(dry) two slabs of cake .been many a time for a snack but never again for afternoon tea that let you down. Could of had better in my staff canteen.

Returned to the Eatrium for lunch today and was again lucky enough to get a window seat to admire the lovely views. It was not busy there was only a few people in but we still had to wait a wee while before any waiting staff came over to serve us. We ordered Eggs Benedict for two and I took the time to explain that we didn't eat meat so could we please have them without ham. The waitress wasn't sure but returned to tell us that we could. After a long wait, by which time we had almost finished our coffee, the eggs Benedict arrived one with ham and one without. I could not believe this could happen as I had explained when I ordered them that we didn't eat meat. The one with ham was replaced. I also asked whilst ordering if they did decaff coffee again the waitress couldn't tell me she said that she would have to go and ask. I don't know if she was new but she was certainly unsure of what the restaurant sells and as the menu choice isn't huge I would have expected her to have known. We then had scones and mint tea, which was fine.

Lunch restaurant in a furniture shop? I met a friend, who is a local and he introduced me to this hidden gem in Perth. Overlooking the concert hall a modern glass structure on the top floor is very bright. Soup and a half sandwich combination was just enough for a light lunch.

I came here with a friend for the first time while shopping in Perth. This cafe is on the upper floor of Gillies furniture store. We were both very impressed with the service and the selection of food on the menu and it was reasonably priced. We both had a roll on sausage which was delicious and a pot of tea. I had a late lunch at the Eatrium a few days ago, there was a couple of vegetarian choices but we decided that we would just have a bowl of soup and a cake as the sandwich fillings were boring.

I've been here a few times but it's such a lovely place that I had to mention it again.The food is first class but so too is the standard of service which is so welcoming including those who are employed in the furniture store of which this lovely light and airy eating space forms part.No wonder that it is so popular.Well done!

We went for lunch and had two freshly prepared tasty dishes. Breakfast menu seems to be available all day so my companion had eggs Benedict and I had Chicken Caesar salad. Both were very tasty. Location is at the top of the furniture store which you walk through to get there. I always think the furniture in the store is quite traditional but the restaurant is more modern with a big of design thought into the range of seating options and comfortable, good looking equipment. Slices of cake looked massive, maybe next time.

this is a real favourite of mine, service is always excellent, food is delicious. I usually have the panini with tomato and mozzarella. My friend has had the pancakes with maple syrup and bacon (asked for extra crispy, no problem) on other visits have had the soup and half sandwich, soup was hot and the sandwich was filling. situated on the top floor of Gillies furniture shop gives a lovely view over the horsecross, great for people watching. staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. the cafe itself is clean and you can have a choice of seating too.

I only discovered this café recently on the top floor of Gillies of Perth furniture store. It is light and airy with comfortable seating and nice views across to the Concert Hall. There is a good choice of food and some lovely home made scones and cakes. I went for the French Toast with bacon and maple syrup and it was excellent. Service was very good too.

Would never have known that such a wonderful place existed if a friend had not been taking us to the 'best furniture store in Perth'. Glad she was there to show off this great eaterie. We had a table for 4 and we had the sweet potato and chilli soup which was delicious. We then had sandwiches each with pots of tea which was made with loose tea, which is very unusual these days, but very good. Service from all the staff was very good, attentive and pleasant. We look forward to returning to this hidden gem.

Handy coffee shop and eatery upstairs in Gillies furniture store, which is extremely popular. Has a reasonable range of snacks, scones and cakes comfortable surroundings and if your lucky to get a table at the picture window good panoramic views of the immediate area, where you can sit and watch the world go by.

Great views from a light and modern restaurant with friendly staff food is very good with a great range on sandwiches and cakes I can highly recommend the Brie toasty with a pot of tea

I wasn't even aware this place existed until passing one day and seeing a sign outside! I'm so glad we stopped and went in because the place is lovely. Super friendly staff, quick service, delicious food and a selection of cakes to die for! Will 100% be back.

This place is fab for a quick snack or a lovely lunch. I regularly visit here with my family and we always enjoy it. It's even better now they have the Fisher and Donaldson fudge donuts back in again!!

This is a great place for lunch or just a coffee and cake. It's light and airy and there's nice views as it's on the top floor. Can thoroughly recommend the afternoon tea - just make sure you're hungry enough as scones and cakes are huge. They do a nice range of different types of scone too. The fiddly tea strainer they give you is a bit of a pain and teapots that let your tea go cold really quickly could be replaced with something better. Staff are efficient and friendly.

Popped in for a coffee - only my second visit BUT had lunch & coffee, another coffee and sat for over two hours. In my view this place has a lot going for it. It is accessed by walking through 2 floors of furniture (there's a lift too) which in itself is a treat! They've got some lovely stuff. The cafe is situated in the corner and is glass walled. This gives a good outlook over the town. If you are sitting with your back to the view there's some funky styling inside to keep your interest too. The seating is comfy - sitting for to hours plus was enjoyble - big banquette style seating. Staff are helpful - served us promptly but then didnt hassle us after we had finished. We got what we asked for, it was presented nicely, well cooked and tasty. Nothing to complain about at all. The menu had a nice balance of choices, brunch/all day breakfast type items, soup, sandwiches, scones, cakes and a full afternoon tea array. Drinks: wide range of ways of serving coffee - and it was good coffee. I didn't look at any other drinks but there were a good few other options. People came and went, steadily while we were there but it never felt too busy or crowded. Tables are well spaced and staff were efficient so everything seemed to jog along nicely.You will have worked out I liked it here!

Although it's at the top of the store, this light & airy restaurant is well worth a walk through the lovely furniture - or for the less able the lift is at hand! As well as the 'usual suspects' of soup, sandwiches etc the specials were enticing! My friend had the trout salad with new potatoes which she said was delicious, while I had a baked potato with chicken mayo. Quite busy at 1pm but plenty of efficient staff to keep things moving.

Gillies is a furniture and furnishing store. It was fun to find after carpet viewing a restaurant on the top floor. Attractive layout, comfortable seating and a wide range of choices on the menu. Not what I expected, but not on the beaten track and it is the sort of place you need to know it is there. Close to the N orth Inch so parking is not too difficult.

This is a bright cafe serving reasonably priced decent food. Only downside is having to walk through the furniture store to get to the cafe.

Enjoyed a snack lunch served promptly and efficiently. Presentation is one of the things at this restaurant with the plates shaped appropriate to the serving.

Definitely a place for exhausted buyers who have gamely hunted down that ideal sofa or piece of furniture. The fact it was freezing outside also contrasted with the comfortable surroundings and good service/reasonable prices.

What can I say ..... Don't pass this secret cafe by! Food was fabulous, very reasonable prices, good sized portions, panini's, sandwiches, baked potatoes - a great selection of fillings and cakes to finish off the lunch. Staff are attentive, quick but also leave you to it, a nice balance indeed when you're having a lazy lunch or a quick bite to eat in between meetings. This cafe is above the Gillies furniture shop on Mill Street - you'd never know it was there if you didn't know it was there! Great view over the Concert Hall and the goings on in the square. Don't miss his cafe - it's a real treat.

My friend and I went here for lunch recently. The Eatrium is bright and airy with comfortable seating. We both had a panini which I would describe as "average". The service was painfully slow (even though the cafe wasn't all that busy). We waited a while before our order was taken and had an even longer wait for our food to arrive. Just as well we weren't in a hurry! We then had coffee and cake which was very good. I would be happy to visit again, but maybe not for lunch.

Visited here with my little one in pram. Thought would be nicer to visit here than the chain coffee shops dotted around Perth. However my pram must have made me invisible. After waiting 10 mins to order while the waitress decided to look right through me and concentrate on cleaning tables I walked to the counter to ask if it's table service or not. When she apologised and took my order (a simple coffee and scone) I was left waiting again while she made coffees for someone (looked like a staff member) to take away. So waited again and then just decided to go. When I left I explained and all that was said was that they were 'short staffed'. I asked for the manager but she was off. In contrast I visited the Manna House today and it was a lovely experience. Will be going there from now on!!

You have to walk through furniture store to access stairs or lift and then it is another walk through the bedding department to reach the cafe, which us bright and modern with good views across to the concert hall. Good coffee and scones, and my other half recommends the soup. Table service and staff cheery. Not too expensive ether.

Great view, comfy seats, very friendly staff and they even have gluten-free bread for a morning snack. Breakfast and afternoon tea served all day. They even got my coffee right
