The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Leeds Yorkshire and The Humber

A good place to have Malayali food away from home. The place was neat and had enough room to accommodate at least 50-60 people at once. Tables are closer to each other than what we consider great, so not much privacy to be had, but not a deal breaker either. The menu had enough options to cater for anyone you could bring along. Veg options, chicken options, fish/seafood options, all there to choose from. Service was exceptional, they were polite and were able to answer all of our queries and doubts. Visited twice, had porotta with Kerala style chicken curry first time which was just wonderful; and Kerala style chicken biriyani second time, which was not good at all in my opinion. The porotta was flaky and tasty. The chicken curry had great texture, thick enough and went well with the porotta. Chicken biriyani did not have the gravy/masala like Calicut/Thalassery biriyani have within the biriyani. The chicken was kind of fried, while it had a different but nice texture to it, it did not have any flavor. It did not complement the rice at all. Also the raita that was provided along with biriyani had little to no onions, unlike we expect from a Kerala style biriyani. The lime juice I had along with the biriyani was average. It had a tinge of mint flavor to it but not enough to call it mint lime juice. I would still go to have porotta or other dishes, but I'll probably never try their biriyani again. 8/10.

Had a wonderful experience, food was amazing and the service was fantastic too. Ya min our host and other members of the team couldn’t do enough for us. We will certainly be coming back and have recommend to friends too. Thank you for a great relaxed dining experience.

Poppped in here for some food with my daughter this evening around 5pm, the staff are great but some of the locals in there are shocking. Old guy on the next table thought it was ok to tell me and my daughter to finish our food and f&£k off after we dared to sit in the bar area for food. Don’t think he liked it when he was confronted about it in front of his friends, but continued to be rude, attitude was disgusting from the moment he walked in the bar. Im sure most of the locals are great, but people like him give the place a bad name, thinks he’s entitled because he’s a regular in there. Safe to say they won’t be getting my custom again!

Good music, expensive drinks. Shame really. Could be great but poor experience. Door staff saw my wife and decided she was drunk. She wasn't. Would a guy have been treated the same? No. Sexist. Pure and simple. Custom lost.

Lovely old pub, I've been going for years, sadly can only give a one star review for now as I've recently witnessed the new landlord speak to customers like dirt.

Poor experience, when we arrived we were seated and asked for a few minutes to look over what was on the breakfast menu, the staff then took 15 minutes to come back to the table but this was after we asked for her to come back. The continental breakfast was okay. Nothing special but decent enough. While we were getting our continental breakfast we could see all the staff chatting behind the bar, there were multiple dirty tables and us waiting to be served. There were 5 of us, we asked for tomato on breakfast and we did not get it , we asked for the fried egg to not be runny and it was. All the breakfasts were lukewarm/cold. There was pancakes on the menu when we asked the staff for then she said she would check, they were never put out and didn’t come over to tell us that they didn’t have any. The staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there, seemed more interested in talking to each other than serving the customers, overall was just a poor experience and we won’t be back.

I used to really like this place. The food was very good and with it being a small business I much preferred to spend my money here than any of the bigger chains, but every time I go the staff seem to get ruder and more pretentious. It's always given off a hipster vibe which isn't a problem in itself but it's crossed the line from "we reinvent good food" to "we're better than you and we know it". If you like a place where you can chat with the staff a little this is definitely one to avoid. Any questions are met with snarky responses or eye rolls, everyone looks bored and like they'd rather be anywhere else and it's just not a particularly enjoyable dining experience anymore. The food is still very good, so if you can ignore the sour looks on everyone's faces it's a very nice spot, but if I wanted to be looked at like something scraped off the bottom of someone's shoe I'd move to London.

Always been a good pub but was quiet when I was there a few months ago. However this time it was packed and had great live music (ok, it was my band: I'm a bit biased!). Great selection of cask ales and friendly crowd.

This was the best experience of my life!! Me and my friends went here for our A-Level Results celebration and can I just say it was just fantastic!! But what really made my day was the fantastic service from Rob and Brad especially - such gems you have working for your field! If it’s possible to give them a raise, please do; they deserve the absolute WORLD and more. Rob’s attentiveness and quick service and Brad’s charisma and kindness made for a fun filled brunch! xx Please make sure you go here!!!!! x

The food was decent and the service was good, even left a £5 tip on a 2 person lunch snack. So why the poor rating??? The car parking has killed the place for me. I paid in the machine and told the staff who said something about a refund, I never received that but never mind. Then got a letter from the car park operator so I drove over to Cromwell to dispute the penalty notice. 2 hour round trip plus fuel. Don’t worry they said and took the details it will be cancelled. Today I receive a debt collection letter wanting £170 or I get blacklisted and have court proceedings. How does a business operate with a system like this? Really angry

Called into the Tea Rooms for drinks, have to say that the Cappuccino was barely luke warm and the coffee was as thick as sludge and only just warmer, enjoyed the scone but found everything a tad on the expensive side considering the quality, we won't be calling back

Dirty dinning area ; tables were actually ‘sticky’ with dirt ; floor unswept : staff seemed carefree and unbothered by any of it. Food also poor quality ; cheap ingredients at inflated prices . Far better quality breakfasts available pretty much anywhere at this price point in leeds

Having visited the garden centre once before, I was in need of a coffee so I stopped on my way home from the vets. My dog and I went in and ordered coffee - staff were great and really kind. Got a bowl of water for the pooch and gave her a lot of fuss. Coffee was just what I needed and as I am trying to be good, no cake for me - it looked home made and very good. The absolute bonus is that it is an amazing garden centre as well. I was trying to find a couple of things and asked one of the staff where. Not only did they walk be around to where all the items I was looking for were, they loaded my trolley with a massive bag of moss. When I got to the till all of the gentlemen offered help with the trolley, taking it to the car and being thoroughly delightful.

This morning I went to order a sandwich, I had already paid for and was waiting for it to be cooked. As I was waiting I took a seat at a recently vacated table as it’s a very small shop. A white couple came into the shop and needed a table for 2, I overheard the request and I said that I’m leaving soon so they can sit here. The lady of the couple lowered her face into mine (personal space) requesting they can they sit here, I replied yes of course. Then she said “he” needs a seat. I told her I’m waiting for a sandwich and I will give up my seat to him. The workers at the shop told me I had to move to give my seat to them. I asked them why and their response was I can go and sit elsewhere. At this point I told them you’re asking me to give up my seat for a white person when they can wait a couple minutes or sit elsewhere until I get my sandwich. They replied I had to move. I got up gave my seat to the favoured white couple and requesting a refund. The confusion as to why I asked for refund and why I was upset was completely bewildering to them. At that point my sandwich was ready and I could take it. I told them no I didn’t want the sandwich just give me a refund. If my body of colour isn’t worth common courtesy then why am I going to accept your sandwich, just give me a refund. The manager ask for my number to discuss it later. I told her no just give me back my money. Racism does present itself as middle class white privilege! This is not the first time either they are known to serve white that are behind you in the queue. I thought I would give it the benefit of doubt and go again. Avoid!!!!

Amo este lugar. La selección de bebidas es una locura si no puedes encontrar algo que te guste, entonces dejaría de beber, no es para ti. La comida es barata, barata, pero la calidad es excelente. Una de las mejores estacas de 10 onzas que jamás haya tenido la lasaña es irreal. Recomiendo ambas cosas. Además, sin olvidar el personal, son realmente amables, el bar una vez (La señora del bar) era un verdadero gruñón. y sin olvidar el happy hour, es genial para las bebidas baratas un viernes antes de llegar a Leeds. Uno de los mejores lugares que he encontrado en Leeds hasta ahora.
